Florence, KY. Had a man beg us to stay in our motel bathroom overnight. Failing that, asked to stay locked in our moving trailer. Obviously we didn't let him because that's psychotic. To top it off, he introduced himself by asking my girlfriend if she was "my wife or my daughter? Or both, he doesn't judge".

Hi I am from Singapore. Just to let you know Singapore has no jury system. It was discontinued in 1969.
Our official independence was in 1965, when Singapore separated from Malaysia. But independence from British colonial rule was in 1959.
The narrator was referring to the independence from British colonial rule and not independence from Malaysia.

Traveling the world for many decades, I've come across some sketchy types. Rule of thumb is when you are traveling alone, as I often do, you attract sketchy people who want to travel with you, and are best avoided. Also avoid roommates you don't know. Another tip: with globalization everything looks the same anyway, so there's nothing new to see, monuments are often tourist traps, and meeting other people is suspect since they are often just simple prostitutes. My two cents. But you should travel anyway, don't let me stop you.

It was good that Scripps ended up being caught by Singapore police. They investigated him, found him guilty and promptly hanged him. No repeated failures to catch the criminal and definitely no delay in handling out the punishment like in many of the western countries. If only the other criminal justice system was as effective and quick.
Canadian officials closed the case of dismembered 2 Canadians im Thailand because Scripps was hanged.
Corpse of 2 Canadians of mother Sheila Damude and son Darin Damude was broght back to British Columbia, Canada for burial along with husband of Shiela and passed away when Darin was 4 months old.
