fun fact- today, the day of publication, is the airdate of the first episode of galaxy force on japanese television, which, by proxy, makes today cybertron’s 20th birthday! happy birthday, cybertron!
That reminds me that as a kid I had a batmobile toy that had a simplistic transformation into a robot. It was the 1989 batmobile, where you'd flip the two tips into toes, stand it up, turn up the rear sides and slide out fists, and pull up a head from the rear of the car. I tried googling for images, but couldn't find any. Maybe it was some obscure cheap China-made toy, but can't know for sure.
@@Monarth zingborg has one on his channel from about 11 years ago, under "Batmobile Transformers review" it's some unknown brand, but it's exactly what you described, the link is: ua-cam.com/video/h3Li_jpT_bw/v-deo.htmlsi=xJMGoAl5PGwH7ndv
Outward hip joints are tight and totally fine on both my Megatron and Galvatron, the former of which I bought used. So yours may legitimately just be broken :P You can clean up his back on the robot mode a bit more too, the front wheel pods can be flipped around so the opening compartments face away from him and the wheels face towards each other, it makes activating his key gimmicks easier and it’s how they’re positioned in the show. Awesome figure overall, even moreso in the Galavatron deco
this megatron will always have a special place in my heart, still have my original one. Edit: I remember my mom taking me to go get him and his price was 60 bucks, so much has changed.
Starscream: "Where did you find THAT from?" Megatron: "Made a pit-stop at Gotham." And yeah, that's TOTALLY The BatMobile... Wish he gets a remake in current lines like how Starscream did.
I never realised how much this is like a Batmobile and just batman in general! The head spikes ( bat ears ) the back kibble like the cape the three fold out spikes on his arm the battling gun that could be turned into a grappling hook the Batmobile and he turns into a jet WHICH BATMAN HAS!! 😮🔥
I got this when it was new, and the hips and thighs were always like that. I sold that and got another many years later - same thing. Just 2005 Transformers engineering. They had articulation, yes, but they hadn't quite figured out usable articulation. Lots of toys of that era are like that.
Someone online once did a Photoshop (?) of this figure's car mode with Batman colors and Bat symbol. I took the image and showed Batman fans and told them I love this batmobile toy. No one called me out or noticed it wasn't legit.
I've always wanted this figure of Megatron. I loved his arm blade weapon and the fact that one of his wheels became a machine pistol when he activated his cyber key power. (Keep in mind, I've always allied myself with Optimus and the Autobots)
@@rainbowpegacornstudios I usually like evil factions, just cause I find them cooler usually, but even I would ally with SG Megatron. SG Optimus isn’t even a villain, he’s a psychopath.
$300 USED?! What the hell? Then again, I was stupid enough to buy the original Cybertron Optimus Prime brand new. That mother falcon cost $325. And being younger and NOT knowing it's true value, my stupid ass opened the box, making it worthless. It sits in my box of old toys in vehicle form to this day. I regret opening it.
The funny thing is, if they do a modern version(he can be nothing less than Leader) they might do Galvatron first so they have the repaint budget. Of course that's assuming he's not a Haslab, which for this design may be a necessity.
I've seen a digibash or two and a fanart of this design repainted as Gigatron/Overlord, and it is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I wish that thing was real
Apparently, the design influences from the Batmobile were somewhat intentional. The Cybertron line debuted in 2005, the same year Batman Begins was released in cinemas. I guess Hasbro decided that a Batmobile-esque design for Megatron would help entice new fans (and of course, the Galvatron repaint had G1 Megatron's colours, making him look even more like the Batmobile). This design idea also trickled over to the Deluxe Sideways mold, who has very bat-like influences in his robot and vehicle modes.
The reason his arms are double-hinged is because of his ability to power-link with Nemesis Breaker (or Leo Breaker, same mold..) Great review~! My mom’s coming to see me in a few months and she’s bringing me my copy of Cybertron Galvatron~ So this video brings back fond memories.
I like how he forgot about the 2 weapons this toy has. Jk I don't really care all the that much. Also I wish we had more used toy shops in the UK. Ive only found figures in charity shops. Some where great finds and some where not the best but still not bad.
I always thought the Vehicons from Prime looked like the batmobile, too. This definitely looks like a batmobile. Boy, Hasbro really likes making Transformers that look like the batmobile.
i kid you not finding one complete is expensive and if someone took the time to 3d print the missing pieces and then buy up the incomplete megatons and resell em they’d be hella rich that or they could be a big help and sell the 3d printed parts instead of people could have complete megatons
Quick to the megatron mobile! Cue Batman spinning logo but replaced with the Decepticon icon! And wow you are going to be 27? I thought you were older damn. Still though this was a cool look at Megatron as the Batmobile!
I miss Hasbro letting Megatron have weird alt modes. I'm so unfathomably tired of silver tanks. Please Hasbro give us weird Megatrons again, I'm begging you.
When the horns were folded back for the transformation it made his head look bigger, and for some reason it reminded me of the big forehead of the Megatronus from the Prime Wars trilogy. Just something random I thought
This was my first Megatron! Love this figure. You did mistransform his robot mode in a few ways. The spikes on the shoulders flare out and the rear front wheel bits' armatures arch up and fold over themselves to give him more flare.
wonder what your opinion is on the Galvatron redeco of this figure? unlike Armada and Energon with the purple, white, and gold scheme, Cybertron Galvatron was black, red, and silver with fiery orange bits and a purple face, making his vehicle modes look EVEN MORE like the Batmobile!!! and for the life of me, i can't find any high-quality reviews of Cybertron Dark Crumplezone that mentions his new molded parts and extra laser cannons on his cockpit.
IDK if anyone noticed this or not.... The devilish look take with black-purple-green-orange theme of this Megatron apparently inspired by his RID 2001 incarnation, in addition for having multiple modes (although this Megs turned into 3 instead of 6 (or even 10)), which this further extends to the white-themed Galvatron. The same thing can be said to this version of Prime, which with his RiD 2001 incarnation, both are fire trucks who can turn into their respective super modes by combining the trailer with them. Nevertheless this is undisputedly one of the wildest take of Megatron design, in addition for being one of the most wicked Megatron incarnation in terms of personality. Need a rework on this (and prime) in the future lines!
6:30 That port is needed for Nemesis Breaker so that Megatron can use his Dark Claw Mode. Also, given how similar Megatron's car and jet modes are to each other, I would be amazed if Hasbro decides to do something similar to a potential Cyberverse Astrotrain.
i feel like when they do the transformers X Batman Collab later this year, it maybe a teaser for a possible.... what would you call it, Cybertron megatron, Galaxy Upgrade megatron, master mega....oh wait
Megatron could combine with Nemesis Breaker in the show... but that was all before both found themselves on the receiving end of Gigantion leader Metroplex.
This is a pretty great figure, i really enjoy it, i got this one and later found a cheap slightly incomplete galvatron and i enjoy having both. I like the galvatron colors better but both are pretty cool.
Interestingly Megatron in his Galvatron colors has any more accurate G1 Megatron heads than most would think because his buckethead is technically just kibble meaning he's the only Megatron with the proper crown it also just looking sick with the original color schem
This design of Megatron looks so much like a rich criminal in his bath robe lol This is probably what he would look like after a fresh shower.... or a fresh party with Diddy-

0:05 and the show is 20 years old...
I'm old
I was born the same year it released..you aren't old, you're just aged
_Transformers: Energon_ is also 20 years old... and so is both me and the Boxing Day Tsunami.

Aaron Archer really did so well with this one. He took all those years working on Batman and poured it into this alt mode
