I use to buy LV but started to notice not only mine but people I knew with these bags were splitting in areas of the bag. Yes, they are authentic. Bought only at LV stores. Since then, I've decided to put my money into real estate.

I was never attracted to LV , started with Gucci and sticking with Chanel for now . I am at a stage where I can splurge on an Hermes $15-20 K bag but I would rather put the money to a CD account for my 2 grandsons.

It's nice to value what you have and get a sense of accomplishment from that.
I don't have a Speedy I have an Etro Boston bag which is a similar shape and it has paisley woven fabric it's so lovely.
While I have a number of other bags, the practicality of this bag just wins me over so often.
I find myself admiring the capacity, the stitching it just does it for me. Also I have the perfect red organiser inside truly I had no idea when I bought it that this bag would become my go-to.
It's important to rotate your bag use and find reasons to wear your bags so I do this deliberately but that shape is a winner at least it is for me!
Love my Speedy bags. My first one is a 1990 and I still have it. Classic!

Great video! Popularity dictates the price, it’s that simple. A Keepall B45 is $4k, the B55 $4,200… way more bag than the Pochette Métis or On-The-Go PM which are similarly priced. I have wanted the On-My-Side MM for about 3 yrs and have watched the price go up by over $1k. Every autumn I say I’ll buy and every year I can’t bring myself to do it. It’s the price that has always stopped me buying it and I like the one with the canvas side panels which is marginally less expensive.
Keepalls are very much still worth it. They would have been in my other video had I extended beyond 10 bags. Way more bang for your buck
Keepalls are not $4k. They start at like $2400 new. Yeah they have some for $4k but the regular ones are $2400

You are so right lovely Meredith. The prices of these bags are out of hand. I have never liked the Dauphine, I truly don't know what all the hype is about this bag. I still wouldn't buy it if it was as low as $1500 , it's not even worth spending that amount on a bag that you don't like . I am not a lover of the Onethego and the prices are ridiculous for a canvas bag . Neverfull all the way for me. I do love the Coussin especially in the MM size but no way for the price. Have LV had a stroke or something (no offense to anyone) because their pricing is getting beyond ridiculous. Much love. Jenni. XX

I think Capucines is a strategic mistake of LV and as you say it doesn't have the demand traction to justify the rather eye-watering prices.

I love LV, ! Good for me i have purchased at least 1 LV at Kingdom Mall in Riyadh, KSA. It’s worth 3,000 Saudi Riyals way back 2012… and it’s still nice , i am using it until now. It is 11 years old now. ❤❤

The On The Go PM and MM are the same price in the United States too. None of those bags appeal to me. I haven’t been buying luxury for very long and I have very few bags. I haven’t gone over my $2500 US pain point yet and most of those bags are over that. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to the point of wanting to spend more than that. I’ve had some life changes (nothing job or money related) that has had me reassess my priorities. Luxury is not important to me right now. But I still like watching luxury channels. I’m sitting on a barely unboxed Chanel O Case/pouch or whatever they call it that I paid $1000 for. I was excited when I got it as it was my first boutique purchase and I felt so lucky to actually be able to see something on display that I wanted. I had a wonderful SA and it was a great experience. Fast forward a month later, my life turned upside down, and the pouch is still in the box. At this point I’m not interested in buying another bag. SLGs are more accessible and can be hidden away in a not so luxury bag. And I’ve probably spent enough on SLGs to fund a Chanel bag at 2020 prices LOL. For now I’ll just save my money, buy a Christmas animation piece or two and when I feel comfortable enough to spend over my pain point, I will. And it has to be a spectacular bag to me.

Is this competition with Hermes? I think the brand wants to be considered exclusive. I love LV vintage. I saw a LV shoulder bag, not in as good condition as the one I have, sell for a lot of money. I find vintage bags better quality. They can still be found if you are willing to look carefully. Thank you for showing what the brand is selling now. Perhaps the preloved market would be more reasonable.
LV competition for Hermes? I don’t think either brand would consider the other competition. They’re both arrogant luxury fashion houses.

It has some nice design elements, but it's only a pretty simple bag! LV when they get an iconic bag just seem to squeeze it dry. We are all sensing this cynical play for maximum profit and some of the labels are losing some of their mystique IMO.
red epi... classic. I've been schlepping my brown/gold epi noe around for more years than I'd ever admit. Legit insights on the unjustifiable LV prices.

Just watched this even though you put it out weeks ago, but it's never too late to show a real appreciation for your honest analysis of the ridiculous amounts of money that LV is making people fork out for many of their bags. However much you love a bag, a lot of money is still a lot of money for ANY bag.

Hey 🤗, would you say that a peekaboo is more worth than a cappucine? A video with 10 of your most used daily bags could help a starter like me. If there is already a video like this, sorry that I missed it. Otherwise maybe an idea for you. I know that everyone has a different lifestyle but I think that you have a great collection with different brands so it might be easier for you to show us your most used once 🤗. Not talking about date night bags but more of grab and go bags.
The peekaboo is a worse investment then the Capucines. Fendi holds it’s value far less then Louis Vuitton. Great video idea, I might incorporate it into collection-mas.
LV Does have a carry it bag, less expensive than the sac plat bag. At less few hundreds. But have to say monogram canvas still worth it buck

I don’t think the Dauphine is a good looking bag. Am I missing something? Not my esthetic. When the On my Side came out, I loved it. But even then it was too expensive (for me). I have plenty of bags that are similar. I’m too scared to go to the resale market, so I guess I’m out of luck. Love these videos. Thanks for doing this!
LV has a gazillion styles of bags it's truly astonishing how many, but when you include discontinued styles it's mind-blowing.

I own several LV bags. Most are probably vintage due to age.
It has now been quite a few years since I bought a new bag from LV.
I think the prices now are just way too high. The bags are just not worth that much 👜🙈🤷♀️
I think it's difficult to navigate the used market, as there are so many superfakes out there🤔
You definitely need a trusted re-seller or site if you go vintage!

The Coussin MM is like the toiletry 26, the Coussin PM is similar to the Toilery 19, and the Coussan BB matches the Toilery 15 in size. They switched from canvas to leather and added some features. They also made some design changes and even introduced a toiletry pouch with a chain. So, it's crucial to understand these changes and not overlook the details.
I started buying LV since 2005 and it's only worth usd 2k max to me... It still is at this level. Won't buy anything from them anymore

Just saw a beautiful sea snake mini Capucine for just under $10,000.00 USD (approx $15,000.00 AUS) it was georgous but $10,000 for a a tiny bag?

Nothing in luxury worth the money. It's not an investment as people say. You buy what you like but definitely a depreciation over the years just like car, and all other luxury. The more you pay the more you will lose. But whatever makes you happy and importantly that you can afford. I would not go for fake and used second hand stuffs. I buy what I can afford, genuine and brand new. Just got a capucine in Paris at haussman gallery lafayette and save almost a thousand out of vat and originally from Paris. Unfortunately you allowed only 2 bags at a time and within 6 months when shopping with passport. I also got a corset belt from alaia that i paid only 900 euros(approx 950usd) that priced in the US for 1500+tax. Too bad that they limit your purchase snd the custom very strict on that. Anyway we mostly notshop too much at a time

I had to save for my new Mercedes down payment so the last 2 bags I’ve purchased have been knockoffs. Now that I’ve actually seen and touched one, I probably won’t buy any more real bags. The designers are now raising the prices more than once a year. I think I have all the necessary iconics and the “must haves” for now!

Some of us understand why we pay for luxury. It’s not about what the bags look like or whether or not they are useful, it's all about the name! You are paying for the designers name and the status of being able to afford to carry it. It's so tacky to discuss price.
