No ACs for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris?!

- Paris is looking for natural ways to cool the athletes' village during the Summer Olympics. But the athletes aren't buying it and packing their own portable ACs to handle the heat.

Do you think this will work?
The vast majority of homes in France don't have AC. The absence of AC is rather normal. Why should it be different in the Olympic Village?
Yeah, that was my thought exactly. The French just close the window shutters during the day when it gets hot and get by without an AC unit or even fans...
Maybe because the rest of the world aren't used to this environments
Southern USA can easily get above 40 celsius France normally does not get that hot and humid in the summer time. Go live in Florida or Texas then tell me you don't need AC
... Well that might be why there were over 5,000 heat-related deaths in France during Summer 2023.
No. You're wrong. Every home should have AC.
So effectively they just forced each country to bring their own air conditioning units..... Absolute geniuses....
Excellent!

Paris city hall and the french government have been doing some terrible planning and making some really questionable decisions. These games were the occasion to show the world what we can do, and apparently what we can do is meh. I'm quite ashamed of how both locals and tourists are going to be treated and the corners that my country has cut hoping to still look the part even if it's only pretty on the surface...
Well a person belonging to a hot equilateral climate, I have stayed in France and it's not even that hot...probably not for me cuz I'm used to heat but here in middle east side it's 45-50celcius (113 - 122 f) and as it's a kinda underdeveloped country, people don't have ac's... just ceiling fans with no electricity for 3 hours a day. it's just devastating. Europe side countries are sooo developed u have 24/7 elec and A/C
AC is much more common in the US and Australia than the UK, it's definitely not a given anywhere in Europe really
@@grassytramtracksSpoken like a true white man!
aslong as the heat index isnt around 50+ celcius its all good olympic participants can compete they just had to make sure theyre all hydrated well before participating to avoid any problems
not mentioned on msm, too shameful to mention .
A bit sensationalist, I'm a bit disappointed. It's not hard to find out all the environmental certifications these building have ie bream, leed. Hell just the building orientation helps a lot. In my city there's going to be a high of 36, but my west facing windows keep out heat in the mornings and make the place an oven in the afternoons if I leave the curtains open...
Disqualify those who bring AC units.
That's the dumbest idea
I can't enjoy the air conditioner, and you can't bring the air conditioner.😂
I have no food, and you can't eat. Let's be hungry together.😂
It’s all good planning, but how well will those plans be implemented?
Homes without AC have been built before.
