2Pac saw the story in a newspaper newspaper article about a 12-year-old girl who became pregnant by her cousin and threw the baby into a trash compactor, while shooting the film Juice. He was 19 at the time and he was so disturbed by the story that he wrote the song.
This song is based on a true story. He didn't know her personally.
I'm 50 yrs old, this song still brings tears to my eyes.
this is how he came into the music industry he had to get other people he knew to make this video because the record company did not want him to make this video so they did not fund or support this
No matter how many times I have listened to this it always makes me emotional. I have looked up info to see how her Son is doing but I can't seem to figure out what is true is and what is false. I am guessing that is done on purpose to protect him. I hope one day he shares his story with us. R. I. P. Brenda.
Brenda is no one he knows. He read about her story n da paper when he was making Juice, and wrote a song about it.

Changes is his "hit" but it was put together from his lyrics after his death. It take a whole verse from I Wonder If Heaven Got a Ghetto.
I think Nothing To Lose from Strictly For MY NIGGAs is better version of Changes.
I think R U Still Down (Remember Me) is Pac's best album and probably the best album of al time. But The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory was amazing as well! And so was Me Against The World when i think about all of his albums! So hard to call! But i think R U Still Down.

I cry every time I listen to this
This is 2Pac's first single, and it is the song that people see as his intro into being one of the greatest storyteller in hip hop. If I'm correct, he read this in the newspaper while filming Juice. About a young girl who had a baby at school, and she threw the baby away. And she was arrested for 2nd degree murder... the baby died. This video is his interpretation of the events.
The great thing about this video is how it's open to interpretation. One great theory is 2Pac... IS the baby. And it works because the baby he is holding is a girl, but as he raps he clearly says the baby is a "he." And you see him in the bathroom where Brenda had the "baby," and him at the crime scene is actually not Brenda, but another woman who was slain there, he is just there because it's the same alley where his mom was killed. it's a stretch but it does work.

To answer your question the real “Brenda” was sent to foster care the baby the same with baby the cousin tried to kill himself but was caught he was only sentenced to 8 years and was killed 2 years after release
