Thanks for helping me check off a bucket list trip Casey! For anyone wanting to tackle this in a Gladiator I highly recommend 37s for diff clearance and high quality rock sliders because you will definitely be using them. Aside from that take your time on obstacles and have a good spotter. I made it through with basically zero damage.
Greeting from the flat lands of S.W. Ontario. Truly enjoyed your lower key commentary on the Rubicon and I'm not a Jeep guy. So much hype from some others. You deserve 100M PLUS subscribers.
Nice! The Rubicon is on my list of places to go and things to do. I liked the rig rundown at the beginning and stats at the end of the day. Also, looked like you had a great group of friends to roll with!
The TJ Rubicon was designed to do the Rubicon trail stock with a straight 6 and locker dana 44s. Everything after 2006 is a Mexican FIAT with a V6 that kept the axles and name.
Did this trail in a 2016 Rubicon Unlimited with 35s and no undercarriage armor. Came out with slight damage and drove it home. It was a blast and beautiful. Definitely recommend manual sway bar disconnects. You get better flex and keep tires on the ground more. The worst damage for me was a bent tie rod bar and smashed the shock.
@scottlester6510 yes, there are plenty of 'drive around' options. Just don't do the trail alone. Our group had a TJ with no lockers and on 31s that made it through. (although be-it with damage)
This is my backyard trail. I live a short drive to MetalCloak and about 1hr 15mins from Loon Lake trailhead. We also use Wentworth Springs entrance as there is some fun stuff over there. '21 JT Rubi diesel, 37s, all Metalcloak links and steering w/ Evo 6" springs. We run it weekdays in the summer to "help" avoid the weekend craziness.
Hi, I did the Rubicon in the early 90's, there was TP everywhere especially around the lakes, I'm very happy to see all of the out houses in order to keep the trail open and nice for everyone
Awesome part 1. Probably my favorite video on the channel. Excited to see part 2. I hope this series gets a ton of attention and puts you over 100k subs.
Great footage of this epic trail!! A nice mix of rigs in your group too! Do you know what slider/steps the SnazzBerry Gladiator is running? I really like the drop down step design of them, might be just what an old guy needs for my Mojave on 3” lift with 37’s. Keep up the great footage, looking forward to part 2.
From what I’ve seen.. and know from personal experience.. the JL stock 44s (especially the HD 44s that come on the Extreme recon) can handle 40s pretty well. Your main weak point is the ring and pinion cause they’re so small if you gear it correctly. Awesome video
Hey Casey drove right beside you on Vancouver island yesterday on my White Defender . Checking out your chanel. Looking forward to check out your adventures
I am on my second glacier cooler and its about to be returned as well. They will not run on the 12volt outlet on my jeep. they seem to only work on AC power. The second one they sent me was refurbished and the compressor is banging against the walls.
Ouch, sorry to hear. I know they had some issues with the earlier ones pumps, I had the pre release one I had replaced but since then its been good. I've also had other fridges like Dometic fail so its just how it goes banging around things with moving parts.
it is made by Warn, however I do have some complaints about it I may talk about in a future video such as its weight, the license plate hits the body, the swing out hits your hand etc. But to be fair its been on 3+ years and been torture tested all along the way lol
@@Casey250 Hm, I see. Thanks for your feedback. I am shopping for a swing tire carrier now as my current 38" Mickey Thompson Baja Pro XS is too heavy even with hinges reinforcement. So far, I have narrowed it down to Lodoffroad JL Destroyer Full-Width Rear Bumper w/ Tire Carrier. I guess that would be it as I don't see a better option. Cheers from a fellow off-roader and Vancouverite.
Zeee it's freaking Zeeeeee not Zed. American English is the correct version and if you disagree listen to the vast majority of Canadian or British music stars. They all sound American while they're singing.
This is supposed to be a video to show what a “non hard-core” run on the Rubicon is like? But you and all your friends are running at least 35’s and are mostly on 37’s and 40’s. That, by any definition is “hard core” because in order to run those size tires, you have to trash the entire factory drivetrain and suspension and replace it with a very expensive and upgraded drivetrain and suspension or you are in for a very “not fun” experience on the Rubicon, or any off-roading for that matter.
@@Casey250Yes you can and the Rubicon would tear that suspensionto shreds. Been there, done that. That’s why the Epic boys are always shown ripping the suspension out from under all their Jeeps when they are equipping them with 35’s or above. Even another poster in here said he received damage when he tried to run the Rubicon on 35’s. Was his suspension stick? He didn’t say
You can have some mods on your Neep and not be a hardcore wheeler. I've met countless people that have bought a new rig at WRD and are just getting into wheeling. Just because you have a lift and tires doesn't turn you into a rock crawling super star. Maybe this video isn't for the heavily experienced crowd but there are a lot more new wheelers out there with stock or modified rigs that I wanted to aim this video out.

Woooooo! Where to next?
Your Gladiator was dope AF! I've got your non-identical twin, a 2 door Snazzberry Wrangler Rubicon with paint matched fenders and hardtop.
Love seeing you on 37’s!! Time to get out again soon!
No thanks, I'll pass. Great to watch from the sidelines though! Thanks for taking us on the adventure Casey, looks like an awesome time!
That's why I make the vids :) glad you enjoyed it.
Needs more Gladiator clips. I think how the Gladiator did on this trail is what most people would be curious about.

We had an awesome crew! Maybe ill do a stats run down more often.
Do the smith’s still run the jeep runs?
The TJ Rubicon was designed to do the Rubicon trail stock with a straight 6 and locker dana 44s. Everything after 2006 is a Mexican FIAT with a V6 that kept the axles and name.
And yet not one TJ is on the trail with you. No straight 6s at all. Sad, very sad

I bet its a crazy place in the summer. We were there during the week in Sept and it still had some traffic.
Nicely done, Casey. One of your best. Well paced. This is maybe the best Rubicon vid I've seen.
Wow, thanks! I appreciate that a ton!
I too struggle having a JLURD and beating the snot out of it. But not enough to stop me. Lol

Thanks Ed! Part 2 gets gnarly in some water
For how much a good winch costs, no one should ever be ashamed of using it haha
The Rubicon is on my bucket list. You are a good driver for never seeing the trail. Thanks Casey, I enjoyed this video
The rigs you have are way more capable than what you'll face on the Rubicon, take it slow and enjoy the view.
Great footage... following you from Beirut, Lebanon 🇱🇧
@Casey 250 I've been impatiently waiting for this video! 😁 I've yet to do the Rubicon, but hoping to get there in 2024.
I highly recommend it

I want to say RockHard4x4. Maybe Gretchen will see this. Those things took a beating and didn't move an inch.
Yup, Rockhard 4x4. I can't recommend them enough. Very happy with their performance.
It was an awesome trip and I’m stoked to have been able to join in!
Thanks Mike. It was awesome hitting another trail with ya!
We plan on doing the Rubicon next year. Appreciate that you took the time to describe the obstacles and how to approach them! Great video!
Awesome!! Its an experience!
Oh man that looks like so much fun. Definitely a bucket list trail.
Great coverage of the Rubicon Trail.
🙏
I was just there in July, took me 17 hours to get there from BC. The Rubicon is a non-stop action-rich trail.
It's quite the haul down there
Heather looked stressed to the max when Jack was doing that one obstacle haha

All that shit talking to the Toyota community and you take the bypass. 😂
I didn't name it Toyota rock 🤷♂️
@@Casey250 lol I’m just joking with you.
👊👊
Videos are getting a lot better dude. Great job man.
I appreciate it!
How did you guys get so lucky to wheel with the beautiful lady in the green tank top??? Nice!
Great video
Will you ever take the Gladiator on that trail??
Hey @Casey250 Great trip! What brand is that rear bumper with tire swing arm? Thanks!
it is made by Warn, however I do have some complaints about it I may talk about in a future video such as its weight, the license plate hits the body, the swing out hits your hand etc. But to be fair its been on 3+ years and been torture tested all along the way lol

I'd get the Teraflex tire carrier hands down. Then a bumper of your choice.
Great job!
Thanks!
No Demonator for the Rubicon? Also would be cool to tow the JK with the Demonator if you get the JK built😃
No Demonator. I'm keeping it closer to home.
I’m trying to get you more subscriber’s, I tell everyone about your awesome adventures and builds,,,, keep up your great attitude and be safe 😎
Awesome thank you!
Nice trail 👍👊😎
What was the point if you went to the Rubicon trail and did not try those obstacles? You should stay home, Pusssyy..
Have you run the Rubicon?
Looks like all he runs is his mouth🤣🤣
What is the function of the ratchet strap lookin things attached to your door hinges?
They are flip down steps
Loving it!
Zeee it's freaking Zeeeeee not Zed. American English is the correct version and if you disagree listen to the vast majority of Canadian or British music stars. They all sound American while they're singing.
Yeah I’m pretty sure a stock Rubicon isn’t running that trail! Not unless you bypass a lot of obstacles.
They just ran a Rivian through it
Just takes time and careful lines.. its been done with open diffs, bias plys on 15 inch rims and leaf springs many times.
I watched Jeep take their prototype Jeep Grand Cherokee hybrid through the trial.

You can literally buy a new Jeep with 35s from the factory... And swap 37s on with no mods other than trimming the fenders...

Is anyone offroading there without a spotter?
Ya. 98% of the day lol.
I was in the lead spot and didn’t spot anything. My skids will confirm. 😂
You cheated and ran it before we got there 😁
True. 🤔. Lol
👍
i was subscribed but then i had to unsub because of those pitvipers
I sure hope that I don't get to a point in life that someone's prescription eyewear offends me to the point I can't enjoy the content they make.
Begging for subscribers keeps people from subscribing. Maybe your content isn't worth subscribing to
70,000 would disagree with you I'd say.
You drove all that way to run a legendary trail, but you took all the by passes???🙄
