The valve adjusters have a spring and filled with oil from the motor, I've noticed a bad lifter will have a little expansion if you pull on the nipple part and if the spring inside doesn't have any expansion as well.
Those factory manifolds exhaust manifolds are good to go. $1500 plus 20hrs to install headers, they didn't fit, the oil pan interfered, and my performance gain? Nada. If I could do it all over again I'd have spent the money on a 08 manifold and matching throttle body and adapter. 08 was wireless. Every mod to the engine has been seamless. The PCM is a marvel, adjusting fuel ratio without any tuning. To be honest it was easier working with the Power tech and compared to an LS build more complex, but requiring less tuning. Pretty much turn key. After 100-150 miles the PCM handles everything. Eye opening power . Below 3000rpm it's more quiet and refined, aFe runner and the 08 updates. Crack the throttle and it'll raise a few eye brows. Love your work man.
Great information. I have a 2004 jeep Grand Cherokee limited 4.7 and I have a blown head gasket so this is something I could do. can't wait to see the video of u putting it back together. thank you!
anyone help explain the process to do this on the driver side ? please and thank you .. just dont see how its possible. remove cam sproket and keep tension? remove top tensioner bolts first?
Camera operator covered the mic with his finger while filming from about 4:00 to 6:20, where he changes his grip enough to un-cover the mic. I'd highly suggest to re-shoot this one or add a voice-over to replace the audio.
Haven't done this in years but im about to do head gaskets and timing set on my ladies 4.7. Thought " while I'm in there tear the head down lap the valves and at least new seal". Thanks for the chince any way you want comment So true. I've been a mechanic for 28 years and there are places that your fine reusing good used stuff. 100%
Not sure what happened , but the audio quit about half way through the video ........ You have some very good in depth videos , but maybe redo this one , or come back in with a voice over so we can hear what you are saying ...
4.7 L V8 PowerTech is a also a pushrod engine, can you relabel your video to take out all confusion for people, it's cool video and all no disrespect but better to label things right, i got 4,7 V8 with pushrod and this video doesn't help me.
Thanks for the info guys. Great camera angles and coverage of the whole head.

mitchEcu all three sevens and four sevens are overhead cams
mitchEcu so you're saying you got a 05 Grand Cherokee Limited that does not have overhead cams
anyone help explain the process to do this on the driver side ? please and thank you .. just dont see how its possible. remove cam sproket and keep tension? remove top tensioner bolts first?
Now when you put the cam back on does it matter how it goes
I would kind of leaning towards a 12 o’clock but as far as bolting it down doesn’t really matter
So i can take it off then bolt it back on any way then when i put timing making sure its facing 12 oclock correct
I have a 00 rango 4.7 hemi... I hear it needs a special tool to compress valve springs... Can i just losen the rocker arm whole instead
lost audio at about 4.00
For anyone wondering it picks back up a little after the 6 min mark
Do I need to replace the exhaust manifold bolts are can I reuse the old ones

You can hear it if you turn up the volume and put your ears to the speaker. He just talks about replacing the exhaust gasket.

Dude audio cut out quick
Nothing I hate worse is a cameraman that constantly swings the camera around.
