Warm, mellow Arabic Oud sounds

- I love the sound of old recordings and old Ouds.
The Oud in the picture is not the Oud in the audio. Believe it or not, this recording was played with the Sultan Plus Oud model by Yildirim Palabiyik from Sultan Instruments in Izmir, Turkey.
In the old days, ouds were often tuned lower than they are today. I wondered how this Oud would sound tuned down like the old school Arabic players.
I'm in love with this sound.
You can achieve this sound too with the Sultan Plus Oud.

Great Oud for a great price.
Wow Navid - I think this Sultan Oud has found its true Sultan! What a rich and sonorous offering - I could almost hear Master Hamza el-Din singing along and smiling😊🙏
Thanks, indeed. Yeah I'm enjoying it.
Thanks for sharing. I'm a nylon string guitar player and I tune it down to open CGCFGC. It helps me approximate middle eastern and Indian tonalities.
Cool. Ever tried fretless?
@@OudforGuitarists not yet, but eventually I will get there. I have thought about getting a çumbuş
@@seantracy5624 it's awesome! So many more options! And skills! Sliding is smoother.

Im really in my toes waiting for more oud Talks, i watched them twice or more, ❤❤❤❤ can u plz hav Najib Shaheen on? I would listen for hours on end to him🎉🎉🎉
Yeah I'd love to do one with Najeeb. Maybe I'll see if he's game.
Master ❤
I recently bought the Aquila Nylgut reds for my entry level oud and it sounds fantastic. I do have to tune a half step lower though as the tension made the action higher.
Oh, that's good. But yes, good thing you noticed the action getting higher. Best to give the neck a rest.
U r understanding the maqams nice pro
Thanks
Beautiful 🤩
Thanks.
thanks
Pure Tarab ❤️ thanks for sharing this amazing Takasim
Thank you for the kind comments.
Viva oud Marokko 🇲🇦
absolutely outstanding, thanks to you i got to know the oud better, and got to love it even more. i've always been a guitarist and i'm very curious to get into this beautiful arabic world. i'm about to purchase one on your site. thank you for the work that u put into this.
also, could u do a tutorial for the song " A drop of blood" by Tamino? it would be really fantastic.
Let me know if you ever have any questions about the ouds we are promoting.
@@OudforGuitarists what do u think about electric ouds and which would u recommend?
@@pietrocecchini8881 Good question, thanks for asking. Generally I don't like them. But there are two who are doing a good job in designing them.
Sylvain from sbd-projets.com
and Hetham Deeb from Syria
Can you do the intro to sahrouny el leil by ragheb alama? I don’t see anyone playing it and would love to learn it!!
Beautiful playing! Which oud would you recommend a beginner player? Where should I focus on while buying one?
Thanks. Playability is very important. Don't worry about size of the oud or where the oud is from too much. You'll upgrade in the future if you take it seriously.
The oud I recommend would depend on your music background. If you never played a good instrument before, then I have an answer for that, but if you know what a good instrument is then I would recommend spending a bit more money to get something like this decent instrument I'm playing in this video. Email me at support@oudforguitarists.com if you have more questions or want some specific recommendations and I'll take more time to give some suggestions.
Nice ❣️. What kind of oud did you use?
My Sultan Plus Oud, thanks
What that oid plz?
Very good content! But where is a makham Nahavand (nihavent)?
Regards from Jürgen
There's too much Nahavand already on the internet. I try to stay away.
What this 1:05 section called. Sounds like Bach. western classical music.
It's all improvisation and doesn't have a name so to speak.
Is this your playing?
Yes, I recorded it yesterday.
@@OudforGuitarists I have heard a lot of A=420 in Sudani and Somali oud recordings online, I had my oud in 420 for a while when I transcribed one. Very cozy style to play in, give it a shot before you tune back up :)
@@Hyderomastgroningem0 yeah, tuning down is nice.
