Nugget was a pet long before any eggs were laid,a pet he will remain, no decent pet owner wouldn’t check on their pet..I am so pleased you are so vigilant…keep it up Jason..

Good morning. Nugget is not bothered by you bringing him food and water at all. He is clearly telling you he is good with it. Nugget has a very special relationship with your family. Really hoping some of the eggs hatch because the world needs some little Golden Nuggets to carry on this special birds genes into the future.

Nugget is your child. He's not a wild Emu. He was hand raised by you, Brooke and Mary Carl. Just like with your human child, you take care and love your animal babies. Never apologize for listening to your gut where your sweet animals are concerned. I'm so excited excited to see if we get and how many Emu babies we will get.❤❤❤❤
It amazes me how Nugget has been sitting on the eggs, he definitely has it in his DNA to carry out the process to incubate the eggs. I'm almost certain if Nugget grew up in the wild, he wouldn't care to eat but he is such a friendly affectionate Emu and when you visit him, he's so trusting and hungry. He loves his food.

OMG, Nugget is a member of your family, a valued pet! He is used to seeing and interacting with you daily and I can't imagine how lonely he would be, and maybe even feel abandoned! You aren't bothering him, you are just checking in, letting him know you are supporting him. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

It’s sweet that you apologize but honestly you don’t owe that to anyone. Apologize for loving Nuggo ? He is your friend and pet. You have had daily talks and rubs since I can remember and he loves you and the whole family. Yes nature is what it is and it will provide but as you say you aren’t in the wild. It’s Cog Hill ❤ where everyone is loved and cared for. You have always followed your heart and gut and here we are. What a blessing it is. Jason, I’m so glad that you are taking good care of Nugget. I’ve watched your family’s videos for years now. I’m 80 years old as of March 26. Your videos are a great blessing to me because I’m a widow and live alone in the home we raised our four children in. Now I have great grand children, but don’t get to see them very often. I have adopted your family as my Utube family. I really love you and think of you often!!

Nugget has not lived a wild life. He's lived a civilized life with all the perks. You, Brooke, MaryCarl and Brooke's Mom are his world. I can't imagine him surviving this hatching time without you active in his life. I appreciate people who are in touch with their gut. You just know. Ya know?

Poor Nugget! I was so happy to see him eat and drink. 60 days is a long time to be without food or water especially when this is the first time he has experienced fatherhood. It's amazing how his instincts kicked in. Looking forward to seeing the fruits of his labor! (and Goldy's)

If he felt uncomfortable with your approach/care he would let you know. You two have a special bond. Continue following your heart/gut instincts. Glad to see Nugget eating a little after this long time. Nugget is such a big part of your farm and family since he was a baby. He is used to your loving on him and he loves all of you. I know it is there instinct to just chill for 60 days, but you are so right Jason. Yes, Nugget is domesticated and not in the outback. He is being a great Daddy and so great that he is eating when offered and he is hungry. I can't wait to see how many of those eggs hatch! I am sure he will be a great Daddy. You don't have to apologize to anyone about how you guys care for your animals. You know them best. Keep up the great work. You are a modern day Doctor Doolittle. Love it!
We have steers, chickens and two mini donkeys. We do raise meat birds and we have our own beef, but while our animals are here on our farm, we take to them, pet them, love on them, vet them if needed and give them their very best life here on our farm. We also have cats and a dog, and we love all our animals. Love your channel. Hubby and I watch almost every day. Be well, be safe and thanks for being a blessing!
I would be out there checking on Nugget every day too, Jason! He is a pet, not out in the wild. I absolutely think you are doing the right thing. I love how you talk to Loretta even though she can't hear a word you are saying. 😂I was so happy when I turned my Cog Hill calendar over to April and there was Loretta for the month. My birthday was in early April & seeing my favorite girl for the month was so special.❣

Jason, the bond between you and Nugget is so incredibly special that of course you need to check on him as often as you think necessary. It is obvious you do "love him to death," as you put it, and in his own birdy way, he loves you too. I'm sure he appreciates you going over to see him, bringing some food and water. I would ignore those who say otherwise. Genuine love comes in all sorts of ways and is to be treasured always.

Oh my word Jason!! I actually teared up seeing Nugget eat and drink. He is so precious!! I wonder if he doesn't eat if it's because he will have to get up off of his nest and go to the bathroom. He doesn't want to do that. I love him so much!!
