We lived at this zoo in the 70's...my mom got us these red plastic zoo keys that went into the feeding machines that gave a handful of peanuts or seeds to feed the animals. I remember the kiddie rides. They had these boats that circled around on water. I remember the zoo being shady with the train ride. I remember we had to drive over a large bridge with brick walls on the sides...Mom said the zoo went under that large bridge. We moved to Texas in 1980...I have not been back to that zoo since. Fond memories!
1:50 Back in those days, you could bring any kind of food you wanted to and throw it to the bears to eat. Most people brought marshmallows. Can't imagine that being allowed today. Some nut would probably give them "special" brownies or LSD.
I can't believe I ran into this, someone at work was just telling me about your book yesterday, he got it for christmas but couldn't remember the exact name, just ordered, thanks. looking forward to reading! you must have still been at the zoo when i started in 1995.
Enjoyed the narrations. This one had "Brooky", the pool. Thanks!
