Yes, the larger size (42/44/45) Hermès Apple Watch comes with the M/L Sport Band, the smaller (38/40/41) comes with the S/M Sport Band. Vis-à-vis the faces; my long time “suggestion” is if you buy an Hermès band it comes with one exclusive watch face, I’m sure Tim Apple can make that happen.
Completely agree with you that it’s ridiculous that they don’t include an orange rubber short band. Next time you go into an Hermès store don’t pronounce the H. It’s pronounced AirMez.
Also the higher price is due to the watch bands. The Apple Watch is the same price as the stainless steel. I will be eager how Apple handles their partnership with Hermes next year.

When you mentioned that the Hermes Apple Watch will be discontinued next year, I did some research and no one is confirming that it will be discontinued. The only thing I read was that the Edition Watch was discontinued this year and was replaced with the Hermes Apple Watch as Apples High end offering. Can you confirm that Hermes is on its last leg with Apple and there won’t be a Hermes Apple Watch after this year?
Counterfeit or not, a band is a band regardless. Both source the material from China, and made by either a Chinese immigrant or Chinese, so there’s no big difference
It makes me surprised to think that apple still hasn’t paired up with some sort of partnership with Leica. An iPhone with Leica lens would be killer. Huawei and others use Leica lenses, not sure why apple can’t unless it’s a power trip control issue (which is logical and typical apple)

When Apple first announced the Hermès Apple Watch series 8, I really wanted the Gourmette Metal Double Tour? but they didn’t offer it on the 45mm. I even asked if they could do a custom order, but they said no. I even tried to ask Hermès to do it, but they just don’t have enough material to make a custom order right now, and even if they did it would take 6 months for me to receive it so I gave up and just ordered the Single Tour Deployment Buckle
The Hermes edition Watch is and the Apple Ultra are for two very different type of consumer. The Hermes edition is tailored to a consumer who wants to use and have the Watch look more like jewelry. The ultra is geared to a consumer who is a bit more active in different types of activities like scuba diving rock climbing someone who would be much tougher on a watch and who might not have power for a few days to charge the battery.
So is it sure that Hermes will not sell sets of Apple Watch with bands from next year or is just gossip? I prefer gold color but I like all extras that give you Hermes with it so I am confused what to do 😅

The 45mm Hermes sport band only comes in M/L. Any S/M would be a counterfeit unless it’s for the 41mm.

leica is not the best lens manufacturer, zeiss is a way better choice if they ever want to collaborate.
