Italians made Americana pizza, Canadians made Hawaiian.
... Heresy!
Indonesian made martabak pizza
And the hilarious part is that in America the "americana" has pineapple on it.
In China, there's New Orlean style fried chicken
In Vietnam, Fish-caramen pizza
It's called a London pizza in the UK. It's strangely nice.
Italian here, pizza names vary from restaurant to restaurant, sometimes the Fries and sausage pizza is called "Pinocchio". I'm not kidding.
These pizzas are usually eaten by kids, and as a kid i also ate them as well, now i personally moved on from these type of pizzas.
(Funny story: Long time ago i befriended a Mormon missionary from America while he was serving where i live, and he told me that once he came over to Italy, some people invited him for a pizza dinner, and they ordered for him a Fries and sausage Pizza, he was confused but politely asked "Is this a joke?". I guess they thought that's what he usually ate in America lol)
It's funny that if you ask an American what represents America, you'll get patriotic crap about freedom and bald eagles, but if you ask someone from outside the country you'll likely get cowboys, burgers, and fries
And Guns.
They can eat the burgers and fries. The cowboys can visit them and they can visit the cowboy.
Can't vote.
@@matthewackermanaski9687 I thought that was assumed with the cowboy thing, but yeah you right
They probably season the pizza with some 50 cal powder.

Americans don't even get Pizza al tonno
Don't be silly Raora. Fries on our pizzas? We put full burgers on them in America
You know what... fair
No, no, we put pizza inside the burgers.
Cheeseburger pizzas are reeeeeaaaalllllll good (if you’ve got a good pizza shop making them ofc)
Cheese burger pizza is a the Cameo freeze pizza you can bought in Norway and the rest of far north Europe... And is disgusting XD
That's not something I'm sure we should be proud of.

if they have cheese fries, then pizza version is just one more bread with cheese and fries.
I feel like it's too many carbs. I guess it would depend on how you make the fries. Thin and crispy? Ok, we can talk. Big and fluffy? You might as well put mashed potatoes on toast.
@@captchagod64 As a southeast asian who like putting noodles in bread, noodles on rice. I never realized what too much carbs is. I might want to try this fries on pizza thing
Yeah it's kind of ironic but that's because here in Italy America is percieved as this big country where you eat a lot of tasty (and unhealthy, but like, in a good way if that makes sense) food and fries are one of the poster children of that perception
In all honesty, we use fries as side dishes to pretty much everything we eat. Chicken nuggets, burgers, hotdogs, corndogs, even barbecue meats. Completely valid perception 😂
*perceived
@@TheGreatAtario thanks
A Döner Kebap with fries is also an American style Döner. And let's not forget Cafe Americano, which is literally watered down Espresso
Do they even have kebab in America ? In Germany its like every city has at least 3 kebab shops, sometimes more
Thankfully a Caffè Americano isn't a coffee with fries inside it instead.
@@bonogiamboni4830 Then an Italian learns about Spaghetti Naporitan and says "fine, I'll put ketchup in coffee and call it Caffè Kyoto" 😂
Coffee is already water that's been filtered through coffee beans... you mean they use less coffee? 🤔
@@cherryrook8684we know what it is but it's not really a common thing at restaurants that I know of. Usually it's something you make at home.
You can buy pre-prepared kebabs at the grocery store that all you have to do is cook them. Usually these will be sold in the meat section with the fresh seafood and other prepared items like pre-made burger patties or pre-seasoned cuts/filets.
Americana Pizza is a legit thing an it is composed of tomato, cheese, shredded meat and salami
Wait then what is the pizza she's mentioning, is it not an Americana?

Only the meat and cut in small toppings
@@ferraris1006 I was thinking the meat only. I guess it makes sense if you consider hot dogs a type of sausage.

The more Mamma talks about food directly from Italy, the more I'm curious about their cuisine for authenticity to experience what it is like to be living there. I think if she continues to gain popularity, the more towards current generations of audiences will have a resurgence on demanding authentic italian food served from Italy and not just revisions we know from our own country's own renditions.
Ever heard of Paris Syndrome?
It's an interesting phenomena, you should look it up.
Now imagine that, but with Italy.
Unlikely?
This post is getting so long it was turning it into a full blown thesis so I scrap it. It was focusing on Chinese food develop by Chinese immigrants in SE Asia.
Anyway, food is largely a result of locally available stuff, weather it is technique, equipment, ingredients, taste, climate, whatnot. Alot of things can influence food in very unexpected way.
Unless there is some corporate entity trying to make money, or government entity having some agenda, whatever local variants of [insert nation] food is going to stay as is.
makes me want a hot dog real bad
Makes me want a chip butty real bad
Quando ha detto “ITALIANI!" d'istinto ho alzato il braccio destro😂😂😂😂
a che angolazione?
In all fairness Fries on Pizza sounds like something a BRIT would do, considering what ive seen their Chinese food looks like.
Our Chinese food came about from immigrants from Singapore and Hong Kong taking over old fish and chips shops. It's evolved along the lines of local tastes and demands, in the much the same way that Yank Chinese is nothing like native Chinese food. So, in short, fuck you.
Oh god, vinegary fries on pizza sounds awful
Fries on Pizza is extremely common in Sweden
she’d have a stroke if she saw Swedes pizzas 💀
@@ac1455 Given that we essentially view pizza as just a piece of bread with cheese and tomato sauce that you throw whatever you have available onto, she probably would.
I think "extremely" common is a bit of an exaggeration. Pretty much all pizzerias have some variant on the menu but I really don't see people ordering them particularly often.
Yeah and apparently in Sweden😂 Banana Curry Pizza exist

Also US chat: (Watching Raora stream while dipping fries in milkshake.)
I don't dip my fries in my shake and I'm American.
but thats not an ordinary item.
Yeah but you don't order fries in the milkshake. You just often times order milkshakes along with a burger and fries. Using fries like an edible spoon to scoop out some ice cream from the shake is pretty normal thing to do. You dip fries in ketchup. Why can't you use them to pick up some ice cream? Lol.
Also sweet + salty is a normal combination.

Love the romance empire.
I'm a real fake Italian and I'd never heard of fries on pizza.
To be honest, I have seen MUCH WORSE pizzas here in Japan.
Dunno about other places but in my town, there are a couple place where you can get shrimp scampi pizza. It's great btw.
Don't be silly, Raora. A true American Pizza would have a steak, some burgers, and hot dogs along with the fries, along with all of it being deep fried.
I once heard of a food called poutine, im surprised it isn't American, but canadian
I think what seems odd about it from my perspective is that pizza starts out with a starch base (the crust) and it's unusual to put something else starchy on a starchy dish in American cuisine (from my experience, and I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions such as people putting potato chips on a sandwich).
There's a dish in the UK called Chip Butty. Made from French fries between two pieces of bread. Nothing else, not even sauce. Definitely the worst offender.
As an american, i think it's extremely accurate that other countries just add 'american' to the name of food when they just add cheese or something completely unnecessary that just makes it worse lmfao 🤣
WTF ITS REAL....i just looked it up...
well French Fries is not from France and now we got Americana which is not from America... seems legit XD
Ah yes, similar to that Asia's American fried rice.😅
I suspect the confusion about Pizza with chips/fries is very simple: Hearing "pizza with fries/chips" and thinking they are on the pizza and not a side dish.
They are on the pizza, and just to be clear they are french fries, not chips/crips
it's obvious the fries are on the pizza...
@@Olxeveel I'm saying that based on what Raora said, hearing that Americans have "pizza with chips/fries", that Italians confused the way Americans order a pizza with a side order as ordering the pizza with them as a topping.
Italians: what kind of abomination of a pizza would americans make?
Also italians: well for mainland america they are gonna throw hot dog sausages and fries on it, and the islanders are gonna put pineapple!
Lets call em americano and hawaii
So can we finally agree pizza is international and people will put toppings on it that some people like and others consider crazy?

It's kinda like how most people in America don't know that most "Chinese food" in America isn't a thing in China. Fries on pizza sounds American enough to be believable to a European.
I mean, to China, Chinese food is just food. No need to put an origin to it. 😂
i guess it's because people associate fries with america ^^ kinda interesting how we, in america, call them french fries
To be fair "French" references the style of cut of the fries
I don't know how I got here and who this is. But I'll add my two cents. Texture is very important to a lot of people and some textures are more desirable then others. I know the South Korean people are constantly messing with weird visual combinations (Army Base Stew or 'budae jjigae") in order to achieve better flavor and danjan~danjan results so I won't knock the fries/hotdog thing. At the very least I hope others can agree its not an idea made out of pretentiousness.
America is not immune to exoticism, after all xP That said, as an American, some of the stuff other countries attribute to us is... well... im not saying i NEED it in my life... x3
Look, can you blame italians?
Americans put fries in shakes, in burgers, fries in salad, in tacos...
Fries on Pizza actually seems like a thing they would do, and their outrage is unjustified.
No we don't, lol
so fries on pizza was literally OFFICIALLY invented by italians to mock americans?
that's simply amazing, at this point i guess americans should just take the L and bite the bullet (or the pizza)
Not sure if it's a mockery, more of a misconception i think...
@@matthewackermanaski9687 No, it's a mockery. In the mind of italians for at least the last 30 years americans don't know what food is and eat like childrens. It is also related to other things that seems stupid, eccentric and kitsch and there is also a world for that: Americanata.
Okay, but hot dogs on a pizza sounds really good. Fries... not so much.
