Skittles is an old pub game going back many centuries. Many pubs had a skittles alley permanently set up for the patrons. The modern bowling game & alley are derived from this original game.
Lisa Tarbuck: her dad, Jimmy, was a famous comedian. She is a comedian and actress. Notably starring with David Mitchell, in the Shakespearean alternative reality comedy series “Upstart Crow”.
Yes. However, an American audience would most likely have seen her, though not necessarily recognised, from the second series of Extras where she played one of the factory workers.
From Wikipedia - Skittles - 'The game of skittles, which involves knocking down pins with a ball, has a long history. The term “skittles” has been used for centuries to describe both the game and the pins used in it. The game originated in Europe, and by the Middle Ages, it was popular in countries like Germany, France, and Britain1. Over time, the pins used in the game came to be known as "skittle-pins"1. So, the transition from “skittles” to “pins” has been part of the game’s evolution over many centuries. '
He even points out if you break the thing apart it still only counts as one item. I'm so angry with myself I didn't catch it. (For those who haven't seen, you take the bunch of bananas, take three off, and line them up directly in front of the balls. When they're released, they nestle perfectly into the curve because they haven't had time to build up any momentum.)
10 pin bowling descended from 9 pin bowling (diamond shape pin set), 9 pin descended from Skittles. Originally a lawn sport, with various different versions around the UK and Europe. In the UK we tend to use the bowling and pins words similar to the USA, skittles is often just sold as a children's game to play at the beach or in the park now. But as Alex did people do sometimes use the words interchangeably.
Skittles are both a British sweet (candy) product and an old pub game, that includes knocking over the skittles (similar to bowling pins) with a ball on a string, attached to a pole another variation of skittles is the precursor to modern bowling where you would have the pins standing and knock them down with the balls, the ball being a lot smaller than a bowling ball, using them in the same way as you do in bowling, but it would usually be set up on flat ground, either in or out of doors, and not in a lane like in bowling. The version with a ball on a string, can either be full size or can be a miniature bar top version or any size in between. Other variations of the game of skittles exist. Some people still refer to the pins as skittles when used in a bowling context.

Skittles is an old game that bowling was derived from. The way to win the task would be putting the bucket of water against the gate so that the balls are not released.
I suspect the rope wirh the box flattened and folded into an L shape (long end towards gate, short resting and supported by rope) might work. The rope will keep the back wall up, while the balls on the box would stop it rolling or moving. Can't go over, Can't go under.
