My niece was born 10 weeks early - I'm well aware of the issues of a pre-term infant.

I understand them not wanting to share a ‘face’ photo, so why not just make the announcement with no photo, or photo of hands/feet. It’s just weird. But congratulations all the same.

I think it's nice that they've chosen to show a snippet of baby Athena. Athena isn't old enough to give her Consent to have her face fully plastered over the web. Given Beatrice has been teased her entire life, even still now as a mom of 3 children : Athena, Sienna + bonus Christopher , she probably doesn't want her kids to be picked on. Beatrice's been teased about her eyes, the shape of, teased about her mouth and teeth from adults. Maybe she is waiting until Sienna and Athena are old enough to look at photos of themselves and say, ooh I like this one mommy, you can post this one or please don't ever let this photo be shown ??

Can’t they give birth at one of the NHS hospitals that don’t cater to private pay treatment? Just to let everyone know the standard NHS care is truly exceptional. Still. At least they stop using that American hospital in London (Portland).
Actually that would be extremely detrimental to the hospital. Security, by law, the birth must be seen by a certain amount of doctors, not just a midwife. They'd probably have to shut a whole ward or more down. Operating theatre left ready and unused. Princess Catherine did go to The Royal Marsden for cancer treatment via the back door 😊. The Portman and many private hospitals aren't what they're cracked up to be. Anything go wrong? Immediately transferred to a NHS hospital.
They didn't like to use the limited resources of NHS. There are enough patients in NHS hospitals to get out the message regarding quality of NHS.
Who cares which hospital. The most important thing is the new baby and her family.

If they had used an NHS hospital, you'd be complaining that : they have the money to go private but instead they chose to use up a birthing Labour room and a ward that could have been used by folk who can't afford to go private. You know I'm right. Going private is a choice that every person has. Prioritize your finances, don't dine out or buy things not needed and you can access Private health. I am on a Disability Pension but I have Private Hospital Cover. It costs me $230 AU $ 🇦🇺 a month so I don't go to the movies, out for dinner etc. I budget. I make sacrifices
