Hey guys, I'm back and more ready than ever to share some videos. I have a ton planned for this month, so stay tuned! ⭐️ HUGE Thank you to ZA/UM for sending out the early access codes for this game, and giving me a chance to check it out for myself! ⭐️ I absolutely enjoyed this game so far. I thought the intro was a bit confusing and slow, but after a bit, it really picked up in my opinion. It's clear how much work was put into this game, and it really shows. The details are amazing, as is the art. I also really enjoyed the voice acting, I think the voices suited each character, and it's hard to imagine this game without it. I think at points it drags a little bit, like scenarios going on a little too long, like the moment with the cafeteria manager explaining what money is lol. Some scenes like that could be cut a bit shorter, I feel, as it was already obvious your character can't remember anything. Some text was a bit cluttered as well. Other than that, I really enjoyed this, like I said. Let me know what you guys think, and if you'd like me to continue!
Finding new stuff that turns out to be epic is always a joy. Like when I saw that thumbnail and was like: BRUH, WUT?!!? And then I clicked on the vid and an SUPER DOPE ERIN WITH A FANTABULOUS OUTFIT popped on the screen. Now I'm like HOLLY FLYING RADIOACTIVE CROCODILES, SHIT JUST GOT REAL! Ok, sorry I got carried away. I love getting notifications from you, lass. And seeing you not taking things so serious gives me a lot of joy. Love that outfit and can't wait to see the vid. Hope you are well, Erin. May you have an amzazing weekend. Love, GB.
Welcome back, Erin! I won’t be able to watch this series because I want to play it for myself first. Also I got a new puppy and I’m working on training him. But I’ll still like the videos as they come out. Enjoy the game!
So remember in this game you don't have to and sometimes / often shouldn't click every dialogue option so how much it "drags on" is up to you. It is a slower paced game in general though so if you don't want a slower paced game it might not be a good fit for you. I'm not that far in but loving it so far. I've been watching random people play on youtube and it's great seeing how different a lot of stuff plays out based on stats and choices
Yep, it's definitely not possible to be a completionist with this game. The best thing to do is to think about what sort of detective you are (Good cop? Awful person? Superstar?Prophet? etc.) and pick the choices that make sense for them to be interested in (and of course, the ones you're most interested in)!
Really glad you tried this out, it's easily one of the best RPGs to come out in the last few years. I think a lot of the initial weirdness comes from how it's a port of a PC game and you have to adjust to the wonky controller scheme whereas on the PC version you just point and click at interactables instead of having to weirdly cycle through them. The game also isn't for everybody and might be a turn off if you aren't a big fan of huge word counts. That being said, without exaggeration Disco Elysium has some of the best writing in video game history. The prose is beautiful, the imagery is stunning, the humor is spot on and there are still lines that stick with me even though I played the game 2 years ago. The plot and dialogue don't feel like they were sloppily written by a codemonkey or a concept artist as an afterthought late in development, it feels like a published author who knows exactly what they are doing carefully crafting every line of dialogue to fit the grander narrative. Would love to see you pick this game up!
In regards to feeling surprisingly comfortable to how much text the game gives you, the developers actually had a fascinating take on this. They noticed that people scroll and scroll and scroll through twitter feeds, reading tons and tons of comments, even if they aren't the type to like reading big long articles. Taking direct inspiration from Twitter, they restructured the game's text to serve up the dialogue and information in short little messages that scroll past, literally like a twitter feed! You get lots of information and exposition, as if they had been feeding you paragraphs of text, but without the game feeling like that! Human psychology hack! Fascinating, isn't it?
all the different skills talking to you is a very cool way to represent what’s happening in your brain all the time but too fast for you to notice. makes sense for a detective story, you need details and such to set the mood and expand on the story. one of my favourite skills systems ever, i would highly recommend inland empire since you have a high psyche skill
Kim should be made saint for bearing with the protagonist tbh. Also I like how the background for the character is a chaotic mesh of colours while Kim's is a white circle around his head on a black backdrop. It really serves well to show how the character is a bit of a scatterbrain - literally - and is able to see so many gradients of people while Kim is just a round circle: perfectly compact and centered on the brain.
Wow that’s a really interesting way of looking at it. I kind of saw it as the same, the white circle almost looks like a halo. I think most players look to Kim for guidance and stability, so it’s a cool way to represent that! The art in this game is some of my favorite that I’ve seen in RPGs.
These are old comments, but I also assumed it was a halo. In Orthodox Christian paintings, saints always have a golden disk behind their head to represent their halo, just like Kim's white disk.
@@jeromios It also kinda pairs up with how the game describes the light shining above Kim in a specific event as "Like a halo". Really, all of these theories are confirmed in the intent, both the representation of the white and black solid compact colours focusing on the focus of the Lieutenant and the religious figure, as he himself is also religious.
@@jeromios Fits him perfectly tbh, Kim has the patience of a saint. While us (MC) is an unhinged superhobocop from wherever tf 😂. That's why I don't have it in me to make Kim dislike us whenever I replay this😂
Usually when I play a game with multiple optional dialogue choices, I ignore a lot of them, but with this game, I want to see everything. The voice acting is some of the best I've seen, which is crazy considering the amount of lines in the game.
It is nice they ported this to consoles so more people get a chance to play but I can't imagine playing without a mouse. It seems like it was so much harder to decide exactly what you were selecting. I am not sure what the controller equivalent is but on keyboard holding down tab highlights everything you can interact with so it really helps you see what choices you have. When you get a chance look in options and see what button that is or maybe on consoles it can be turned to "always on"
I'm on my second playthrough of this. The first time I chose the smart type and picked the most boring lines, even the game told me I was boring lol. Now I chose the physical type and picking the most crazy lines and GETTING SHIT DONE, I'm a Super Star, Communist, Hobo Cop. I'm even discovering new things that I missed in my first playthrough. My suggestion is, don't be afraid to pick the insane dialog options, the game becomes more fun that way. (Even the game tells you that)
So proud that they've noticed you, that shows that the work you've put into your content paid off. Nicely done there plz dont save scum in this game, just move with the flow, unless you'll get a game over god, the addition of voice overs make the game actually watchable, bc previously you could play the hell out of it but you couldnt watch it at all 19:52 72% fail, great RNG lol 23:56 face can be only loved by the mother 29:27 rock that smile 31:21 one thing to know about these "skills" - you have a limited space for them. That's so awesome that the devs gave you early access code! I'm so happy for you! Hopefully it's the first of many. Yeah, I personally would like to see you continue this game. I really like the detective look btw, very Noire.
Just wanted to say, a buddy recommended you specifically to watch for this game when we were talking about it. This game looks super dope and i can't wait to watch all the videos for it!
The most fun way of playing this game is being terribly wacky... Picking the funniest options. I remember when I played it for the first time I was holding back so much trying to be decent... Pretty much like you did here not knowing what I was missing.
I'm watching for the first time on this channel and I'm loving how the streamer is approaching this game initially as if they are actually going to solve crime. (I've played the game)
Today is the day Harry woke up! March 12th! To honor the greatest game and story in existence I have decided to check old letsplays of DE. Damn, you look so hopeful here. I wish I could be like you and know nothing about this amazing world and characters, so I could play the story again. I wish I had amnesia like Harry.
I never knew how much I wanted to see You wear a hat and "try" to pronounce French words before lol. Also, the art in this game is amazing, not to mention how the dialogue is structured and the voice acting. Overall a unique experience from the type of format these games go by. I for one would definitely like to see a complete LP. Anywho, this was quite enjoyable and I hope you are doing well, Take care, Erin.
I love how you assess this as being similar to Mass Effect and decide to play with good intentions, that made me smile. I'm sure you're now aware this isn't like Mass Effect...in the slightest. Lol. It is strange nowadays how open-world adventure games have been labelled as role-playing, which actually requires that character not image determines outcomes. The stats don't indicate role-playing and having two plots to choose from doesn't either. Obsidian still try a little, Bethesda gave up for the $$$ and CDPR are presently no way near having "RP" in their "G". This should be an interesting series :)
I enjoyed watching you play Disco Elysium. I hope you decide to play more in the future. I just started playing the PC version. Be aware that there are some bugs in the Playstation version of the game including voice over fixes, improved Kim pathfinding, controller issues, save game bugs etc... I think while you were playing there was some dialog where the voice did not play. The developer, ZA/UM posted a Tweet yesterday that they are working on a patch (1.3) that will fix a number of issues. In fact from what I have been reading it might be best to wait for the 1.3 patch as some of the bugs are a pain to deal with.
This is a wonderful first playthrough of Disco Elysium to watch! Having spent some time in the game it is hilarious to see you discovering what the game is about.
For those playing on PS4, like me, pressing the PS button + Square will zoom in, this works on all games! If this doesn't work, try looking in console settings. I am loving it so far, the atmosphere, the writing, but most of all how these 24 different parts of you have their own voice, often competing for attention, and the higher the stat, the louder that voice is, and not always for the better. ^_^
this game is kinda like memento but funny and not anxiety inducing..although both are pretty bleak and depressing. also you have a really nice voice for commentary. good stuff.
Hi Erin if you liked the music you should check out British Sea Power, they made this soundtrack and have a lot of great albums. This game was one of my favourite from recent years, it is really beautiful even with its flaws.
hey Erin, really cool that you're giving this a look!! Another game I think you might really enjoy is Yakuza 0, it's not for everyone and you might not like it but it's got a great story with some great characters and loads of cool stuff to do on the side!
The Strawberry Jackson outfit kindaaa suits the beginning of this let's play? Game is way more original than i thought it would be thought. You got that sense of humor lady. Dear lord. xD Gonna watch episode 2 tonight after work. Looking forward to this. Have a great day!
U mentioned the intro was a bit confusing. U mean the gameplay or the "detective suit"? JUST KIDDING!😂 Its always a GREAT day when u uploaded new vid Erin! But even BETTER its great to see u AGAIN!🤗 Hope ur doing well n everyth has settled down. Even if it does, DONT forget to ALWAYS look aft urself n ur health alrite!😉 n finally, to ans to ur question whether to continue this, the ans is definitely YES! I love this type of game!
Hey erin so glad you are back im really excited to see you go though this game looks super interesting also the developers sending you an early access code wow thats incredible really getting recognition now so happy for you
You have such a huge channel and so many comments, but in the off chance you read this, I just want to say that I was looking for some gameplay of Disco Elysium, found this video you posted a year ago, and I'm very much enjoying watching this right now! 😄 You seem like such a genuine pleasant and kind person, and I admire how much you're being respectful of the game, rather than just fooling around or praising it more than it deserves, while also having fun. You seem genuine, and I love that. 😊 And it is a very calm, soothing, pleasant, and enjoyable experience watching you try out this game. If all your videos are like this, then I will most definitely be watching many, many, more hours of your content. 😄 Thank you so much! ❤
@@StrawberryFarmer Aww, I'm glad. And thank YOU! I've just had a very cozy Sunday morning laying in bed watching your Disco Elysium videos for the past few hours 😄
@@StrawberryFarmer Just me, my comfy pillow and blanket, and your cozy videos. It's such a perfect day so far! And I have no desire to stop and do anything else 😂
The protagonist must've had a bit more than a few drinks to completely erase his memories of absolutely everything! I don't know much about this game, but it's playing out to be an extremely character-driven experience. The detective I'm loving already. Should be a fun murder-mystery!
If i may suggest, the game is better suited to a mouse. Keyboard optional, but you can use the Tab key to outline things you can interact with or pick up.
Would love to see more personally! I've had a phenomenal time playing through the game myself and am really interested in seeing others' experiences and perceptions of it :)
WooHoo new video just in time for the weekend. Love the look, it does scream detective either that or I watched too many noir films. Great to see a new upload, hope you are well.
My dear detective Erin, 🕵🏻♀️😉 after watching the playthrough it strongly reminded me some '90s point and click adventure games, "Sam and Max hit the road" but on another level. Great video as always. Stay safe.❣️❣️❣️🍓
I’m late to your playthrough but nice start on the Disco Elysium. I’m glad to see you continued to play the game. I’m excited to start my playthrough on PC this weekend. As for your Witcher 3 comment, it’s understandable. I love the game but I can see how it’s not for everyone (no game truly is). I do have a recommendation (no pressure). A UA-cam, Alt150, has a really good video explaining how he couldn’t get into Witcher 3 after initially trying five times. One day, he just sat and just talked to an NPC and the world started connected for him. The Witcher 3 truly is a rare combination of world building, graphical fidelity, and story with decent gameplay that most games can’t touch. I hope this doesn’t come across as pushy but I wish Witcher 3 can find its way back into your playlist one day.
Thank you! I’ve had games like that where I just have to try a few times until I get into it, I’m sure the Witcher is one of those games. I wouldn’t be opposed to a playthrough on it someday! I have a few other games to get to first but it’s definitely on my radar 😄 thanks for watching!
I started this game for the first time after The Final Cut came out, and I'm loving it! I had no ide what I was doing, so I picked the Thinker archetype. His signature trait is Encyclopedia and it is incredibly handy, but he's definitely socially challenged. I've slipped enough points into Psyche traits to make him competent. Before I decide on a trait to improve, I try to wait until I hit a white check I can't easily pass, then try it so I can go ahead and fail and earn a second attempt by leveling up the stat.
Hey guys, I'm back and more ready than ever to share some videos. I have a ton planned for this month, so stay tuned!

The developer, ZA/UM posted a Tweet yesterday that they are working on a patch (1.3) that will fix a number of issues. In fact from what I have been reading it might be best to wait for the 1.3 patch as some of the bugs are a pain to deal with.
Loved the hat come back for the next video as well as the tie 🙏 excellent game you chose.
This is a wonderful first playthrough of Disco Elysium to watch! Having spent some time in the game it is hilarious to see you discovering what the game is about.
YES! One of the best games ever!
so excited!
Patch 1.3 is now available for the PlayStation. The studio said they are working on patch 1.4.
Cool video !!
Nice to see you again Erin!!
Hey, I'm glad that you are back!!!!!!
Nice suit, you look preety and professional
For those playing on PS4, like me, pressing the PS button + Square will zoom in, this works on all games! If this doesn't work, try looking in console settings.
I am loving it so far, the atmosphere, the writing, but most of all how these 24 different parts of you have their own voice, often competing for attention, and the higher the stat, the louder that voice is, and not always for the better.
^_^
This is by far one of if not my favorite RPG. Enjoy!
Oh my god! Can't get over this game! It turns out that my pc can run it! Love this old school RPG vibes and the artwork is ...
Oh erins gets contacted by developers! Yous all grows up now! Great video!
this game is kinda like memento but funny and not anxiety inducing..although both are pretty bleak and depressing. also you have a really nice voice for commentary. good stuff.
I love this game. I'm glad to see you enjoyed it. Would be down to watch a playthrough
Hi Erin if you liked the music you should check out British Sea Power, they made this soundtrack and have a lot of great albums.
This game was one of my favourite from recent years, it is really beautiful even with its flaws.
Savoir Faire mean Ability to solve practical problems
Been wanting to play this for a while, cant wait until it comes out on ps4. Great video.
PLEASE continue
Ooh, dressing up for play-throughs. I am intrigued...
Hi Erin 🙂 Looking good. You have great vibes. Wish you well on your games and streams
I love this game, hope you like it too.
really really enjoying it so far!
Love, love, love this game.
hey Erin, really cool that you're giving this a look!!
Dear lord. xD
Gonna watch episode 2 tonight after work. Looking forward to this. Have a great day!

hey there!! i'm doing great! I can't wait to get back into posting more often. i've had a long enough break, time to get back to it! take care!
I'm taking a risk here by calling Disco Elysium , the Planescape of this generation. Great presentation as always Erin .
Agreed.
(don't tell dabus..)
Good video! Yeah I loved it

You seem like such a genuine pleasant and kind person, and I admire how much you're being respectful of the game, rather than just fooling around or praising it more than it deserves, while also having fun. You seem genuine, and I love that. 😊
And it is a very calm, soothing, pleasant, and enjoyable experience watching you try out this game. If all your videos are like this, then I will most definitely be watching many, many, more hours of your content. 😄
Thank you so much! ❤
Oh, and for the record. I think you rocked that hat pretty damn well. 👌
I still read the comments from these old videos 😄… thank you very much! ❤️
Dayum early review code?!? Already on to big moves let’s go
I love your honesty, you confessed that you didn't tie the tie 🤣😂
OMG!!! Yesterday I was just thinking about recommend this to you... And now here you are! wow! :-O
Haha glad to surprise you!
Oh my God, the FIT CHECK 😍
You look adorable!
I just found this channel, and am enjoying your videos. Wish you would come back to make more.
I was really hoping u would continue this series im hyped u are
That's a good tie. It speaks to me. Your dad has good taste.
The protagonist must've had a bit more than a few drinks to completely erase his memories of absolutely everything! I don't know much about this game, but it's playing out to be an extremely character-driven experience. The detective I'm loving already. Should be a fun murder-mystery!
I'd subscribe for sure if you continue this.
LETSS GOOOO NEW VID‼️‼️
played it 3 times but before the final cut, HAD to read everything, i think i will just watch this time.
WooHoo new video just in time for the weekend. Love the look, it does scream detective either that or I watched too many noir films. Great to see a new upload, hope you are well.
I've missed you guys so much! glad to be back!
@@StrawberryFarmer We missed you too! Welcome back!! Also love the playthrough
My dear detective Erin, 🕵🏻♀️😉 after watching the playthrough it strongly reminded me some '90s point and click adventure games, "Sam and Max hit the road" but on another level. Great video as always.
Stay safe.❣️❣️❣️🍓
Congrats on the early access !!
Damn, what a cool game to LP. I'm here for this!
I'm kinda late to the party but great video! Really enjoyed it!
This game is so weird and cool, love watching your playthrough
I love your outfit! This looks like a fun Game, I like watching and playing detective and cop shows! 🤗
Alright big gun I see you
Congrats Erin! The detective/Michael Jackson vibes are a hit lol
Great to see you uploading again, always happy to see your notification popup. I wonder what new games you have in the pipeline?!
tons in store for the channel. glad to be back and I hope people are as excited as I am!
Play more! I love this game!
I love this game 😍 Poggies what a way to start april. Like always thanks for the video 😁
