Not like it? Caribbean music (and its many genres and moods) is my favorite of all, full stop. I have spent hours and hours listening to as much as I can find and connecting the artists to each other in influence and history. This song in particular, though, highlights the versatility of Lord Nelson, who certainly deserved his lifetime achievement award. I love music from all over the world, but, somehow, this music captivates me more than any other.
Had a dream of a lady next to.my bed talking to me then a naked woman down the hall distracted her so she went to check then a dark female figure came and put her hand on my neck like teying to hurt me so i yell Shango, Shango, Shango and she let me go. My papa Shango protects me... i can call on him anytime and he will help me in any situation.
I grew up in Pashley st., Laventille and heard so much "Shango" songs. I played the drums for some of the singers and saw the dances on fire and bottle. This sure brings back very pleasant memories for me. There was one which went "Goku lala na oolaa le". Any one out there who have heard it?
