Awesome video Noah! I was your nursery teacher many years ago in Lynfield Ward and it''s awesome to see how far you've gone and progressed! What a great experience to travel home to Samoa!
Malo lava Noah! It's a trip to see your from Ferndale WA, I grew up in Bellingham WA which is the main city there that Ferndale is a suburb of. We moved there in 1991 and were the only Samoan Family there in the 90s besides a few individuals that went to college or took a job there. We had many family parties at Lake Padden park just like yours was in the video, which is great to see. My family is also from Vaimoso, we moved directly from Vaimoso to Los Angeles in the mid 1980's so it's highly like that we are related because Vaimoso is all family...."Nu'u Loto Tasi" is how our village is best described. Anyways very cool to see you go back to the motherland and learn about your roots, I hope to take my daughter to Samoa someday and show her where I was born and started out as a young buck...lol Hope to run into you in Bellingham as I'm there a few times a year to visit family and friends.
Talofa Noah.
Your Aunty Vernetta Semu Heem was my inspiration to major in English and wanted to be an English teacher. They were in my old ward of Navu back then while they lived on the Maagiagi/Vaivase boarder. Her brother Semu was a friend to us as missionaries back in the early 80s in Auckland before he moved to Samoa for school in Pesega. He was an amazing Basketball player. Love seeing this video. Question: where is that village with the Fale chapel? Vernetta was an amazing English teacher at Pesega but i never went to that school. I was Samoa college then to New Zealand
Love this. Beautiful memories, proud being Samoan. My babies are half Samoan, and I pray and hope that one day my kids will get to experience this.
