Hello, thank you for your comment. When were the churches burnt? Unfortunately some news are not as wide spread, but I did find this: www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-66525150
Was this the cause of it? If it is, my response will be, burning of churches, looting of Christian family homes, are absolutely not accepted in Islam. Anyone doing that is wrong. The article shared that "two local Christian residents were arrested for violation of the blasphemy law, which carries the death sentence in Pakistan", and therefore this should have been the first course of action. The next course of action is to find out why they burnt the Qur'an and prevent further attacks, and coming up with effective solution to address this unrest.
In today's world where Muslims are vilified at every opportunity, we urge Muslims to be stronger mentally, physically and emotionally - be smart, and return to the Qur'an to address conflict and challenges. We hope that nobody was hurt during the protest, and that the government is addressing ways to unite the people, educate them on acceptance and tolerance so we can focus on things that truly matter, Insha'Allah.

@@sahaba2251 Hello, nobody has said anything bad about Jesus, we love Jesus and Mother Mary. Also about the Mecca story - can you expand what that is about so we know what story you are referring to before replying?

@@Prajfernandes About the death threats from government - you will need to raise it with the Pakistani government. But about minority communities facing death threats - in general that is not acceptable. That is what we as Muslims are facing in a lot of countries where we are minorities and is definitely wrong to do that to other people as well.

Don’t you think because of your experience you are now part of the problem? There is a suspicion of Islam by Europeans/christians because by definition you are insular. This organisation is insular not reaching out to other communities, not integrating. I as a non Muslim think it’s a great idea, and understand why you have set it up given your experience. However, I feel you have given up on showing us we have nothing to fear, if that makes any sense ? The world needs to see it is possible to coexist without oneside dominating the other and no extra taxes because you are of a different faith. Coexistence in harmony is the only way forward otherwise it means destruction for all. The ultimate goal of any faith should not be dominance but acceptance, coexistence and harmony. The media narrative in the west doesn’t give us that image of Islam and unfortunately we have many Muslim extremists in the U.K. which again coupled with no wish to integrate into society breed suspicion and hatred and so the cycle continues. I wish you well with your project you are a very intelligent lady who had had some very unfortunate experiences, but you have reflected and learned from them. Good luck to you !

Absolutely! I agree-we should integrate, but many in the West might see us as insular because we dress differently, don’t drink, or avoid certain social scenes. That doesn’t mean we’re not open to connecting. Integration isn’t about losing our identity or adopting someone else’s culture; it’s about understanding our differences and building relationships based on mutual respect.
We all want peace, prosperity, safety, and security. So, while I might avoid environments like clubs, I’m always open to connecting over coffee, a meal, or a good conversation with anyone, regardless of belief.
The challenge arises when integration is seen as conformity. Real integration happens when we can be ourselves while fully participating in the community. When we’re not given equal opportunities, it can make us feel like we don’t belong, which hurts our confidence and makes it harder to integrate-not because we don’t want to, but because we don’t know how to. Even when we try, others may not be open to welcoming us. It’s important to note that mosques often offer programs to help non-Muslims understand Islam-not for conversion, but to foster unity through understanding.
Muslims do want to integrate, but it requires both sides to set aside biases and embrace each other. These biases are difficult to overcome, as they’ve been perpetuated across media for decades.
Extremism has no place in any society, and we must stand against it. That’s why Glomunite’s mission to help Muslims regain confidence and contribute positively is so vital.
When we unite around our true values, we can show the world what Islam really stands for-peace, kindness, and justice-counteracting negative stereotypes and creating a positive impact far beyond our communities. Let’s come together, not just as Muslims, but as people who care about building a world where everyone is respected and valued. Thank you for your thoughtful comments and insights!
