Wow, you have done it again. Wonderful painting. It never occurred to me using a paper towel to created texture.
You can also use aluminum foil if you are painting mountains and want extra texture. Make like a ball and gently touch the surface. If you are painting Alla Prima, the paint must be thick. If painting in layers use the aluminum in the last layer and have thick paint too. I hope this helps. Take care.

What are you using for substrate, please? The textures on the pear are wonderful. wonderful.
hi Jean, thnx! I think for this one I used 'grey cardboard' similar to what one would find on the back of a note pad. (Glued to mdf backing). The paper has a very distinctive texture...
