Sturdy professional looking product, something that you'd expect from Wescott but I'm just not sure I like the catch light it creates. Would like to see more professional portraits taken with it.
I think this works best with clam shell lighting for a beauty shot (working opposite of a beauty dish), but every shot I see it used for where there is more light from one side than the other, I have been less than impressed with the results. It simply puts too much light on the shadow side and makes the image look odd and frankly, messed up. And as was pointed out by another, the outdoor shot was so overpowered by the reflector that the shot was almost washed out. I believe this has its place, but is pretty limited.
Looks like this could work well in the studio, or an outdoor setting. Not so much in an area where real estate is tight. Well done review. Thank you...
If you like this effect...go to your local home improvement center. They have an insulation product that mimics this to the letter. It comes in rolls. Highly reflective. Place the appropriate length between two stands with clamps from your local Staples outlet. Much more stowable, portable and heaps less expensive!
Great to see a Dublin photographer presenting on Adorama TV!
Thanks Andrew!! #UpTheDubs ;) xRuth

Can use only dat u reflector with out lights
Is that the wescott 1 or 2
to be honest, the reflector outdoors almost washed out the model's face...wasn't impressed at all.
Love the studio portraits, Ruth could be the model
I think you need to be careful with this reflector that it doesn't totally wash out flattering shadows around the cheekbones. Subtlety is key.
what kind of tripod is that?
it's a manfrotto
