  • What an incredible 10 days it has been at Dublin International Film Festival 2024. From international filmmakers to rising talent to industry exclusives, we've had it all.
We start the day with a masterclass from Guy Maddin hosted by Paul Duane. Funny and honest, Guy Maddin takes us on his journey of becoming a filmmaker.
Next up we have the DFCC awards, with That They May Face the Rising Sun taking home Best Irish Film and Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World winning Best Film overall.
We had an additional screening of Dublin On Screen 2 at SubStation, displaying the work of emerging young filmmakers in Dublin.
Guy Maddin introduces his film, My Winnipeg, the second of 2 showings of Maddin's work that day, followed by a hilarious Q&A with Tadgh O'Sullivan discussing his unorthodox strategy for tackling Q&As.
We were delighted to have Selma Vilhunen for a Q&A following Four Little Adults.
It's the Surprise Film! Audiences waited in anticipation for the sold-out ever popular, Surprise Film, a tradition started in 1985 by pure accident.
To close out the festival, cast and crew introduce 'That They May Face the Rising Sun' and a thank you to our incredible staff at #DublinIFF24
Great to talk to audiences, volunteers, filmmakers, patrons and board at the Closing Night Reception, supported by our Premium Partner Tanqueray 0.0.
That's not the last from us, stay tuned for festival photos, upcoming events and screenings! Sign up to our mailing list to keep up to date with us all year round
