Stitching At The Cabin is a channel about cross stitch. We are a mother daughter flosstube that “specializes” in large projects including HAED, Chatelaine, Gecko Rouge, and Mirabilia. You will also catch us rotating through smaller projects like Mill Hill and Just Nan. We do full coverage, we do partial coverage, we do no coverage! Oh... well maybe thats just called buying excess stash. You may even see an occasional bird. Live ones. Like the ones that talk. Unless you have a fear of birds. In that case, they are puppets. We like to think we are funny, but more likely we are just easily amused. You decide.

Olivia is beautiful. Julie, your stitching is beautiful! The book .. I’m glad you liked it, it feels like my librarian duty to try to help instill the love of reading in people! 😊

Well that love was 100% instilled in Addy. She literally walks in my house and I yell "Hi Bob" (that's what I call her) and she yells "Nana". I get my obligatory Old Baby hug and then she immediately grabs a book and says "Nana read". It's the first thing we do every single time. It's also the thing we do over and over and over and over for as long as she's at the house. She also looks to me for her "walk" needs. Papa is where she goes for food and pictures. Ha ha. ~J

Another book (older books) available in the US on kindle is Female Brain Gone Insane. It's written by a nurse but without a bunch of medical jargon, and it's about the emotional roller-coaster of peri/meni

I started perimenopause in my 30s. Which was early, I know, but it also started my fibromyagia...
I'm 57 now and I'm all finished. But in my 40s I had a double d&c which completely stopped all the hot flashes and everything...
I'm a big one for vitamins.... they help with my fibromyagia.... and I took black cohosh for the hot flashes....
The new baby is so sweet....

You had asked for information about menopause and my gynaecologist recommended the books by dr Jen Gunter. She is very good The books have been very helpful. I fully understand what you’re going thru.

Great stitching - lovely projects. Women should talk about perimenopause and menopause more openly. I’m one of those annoying women who went through both without really noticing. But my Mum had a very difficult time with hot flushes and mood swings. One of my friends is really struggling too - finding it so hard to work and cope with the symptoms. I’ve noticed in the UK there is much more support now available. Such a cute baby xxx

Yes!!!! I wish we were all completely open about menopause topics. It's crazy how it affects so much of your life. It's awesome you had an easier time of it. I'm thankful I don't have hot flashes (at least not yet). I made an appointment to see a doc at the end of August, so we will see how it all goes. Fingers crossed she will be helpful and not just brush me off. Fortunately I have backup plans if she does. ~J

Your apples look so good!! I have that whole series somewhere in my storage unit. Tried to find them a few weeks ago and gave up realizing all the stuff I would have to move to find the right box. Hopefully someone else can help you with the issue numbers you're looking for. If not, someday I'll find them. Hehe. Or, who is the designer on the apple chart? Maybe the designer has a website and you can find the rest of the series there?

You are awesome! Thank you for emailing me that link. I also cannot see your reply, so thank you for taking the extra time to email. Also, can I play in your storage unit? I'll bet you have lots of stitchy goodness in there. I'm willing to move boxes to get to it. :) For the record, I had tried looking up the designer, but she's not a stitcher so it was just the artwork. I can't remember who charted it, but I recognized the name. Anyway, you saved the day. Thank you! ~J

Have been in menopause for 20 years you are not a lone or crazy. Just dont get upset if you calm down you wil😮.l remember the name of what you are trying. It's a big difference but part of life . Also remember you have a lot going on in your life. New baby and your mom is sick. Take care of yourself and dont think for one second you are crazy. Just asked the women who have done it. Sometimes it's not easy but you are stronger then you know. I'm not a doctor but if you want to text back I will try to help. I didnt get the tag name crazy mom from memo but my silly son. Take care of you and be happy no more periods. Be happy. Welcome to the club memo. J
