@CruzSarmiento-bs8nhlike I spent most of the film’s runtime enjoying it but overall feeling like it didn’t live up to the promise of Santa going Die Hard mode on a load of terrorists, then this scene came up and I just started grinning like a kid on Christmas
The team leader was Asian, what would cause an Asian American to a life of crime? If that’s the case, I wonder what ethnicity is the other team squad members were.
I believe him still to this day and I think this movie gives a good perspective of him I hope they add Mrs claus the easter bunny and other slasher christmas heroes and they team up against terrorists
one of the greatest scenes in a Christmas movie ever. The music adds so much to it the contrast between Bryan Adams and mass murder is so great. I hope this becomes a classic.
Why do I love this movie? Because it is what it is and it doesn’t pretend to be something else, it’s dumb fun and it embraces it, best Christmas movie since Die Hard
Because like all great action movies, it has fun, dumb violence with heart deep down. Robocop, T1 and 2, Demolition Man, Total Recall. All classic and this one is part of that kin.
Saw this in theaters with my father, we were both howling with laughter at this sequence…. And then I nearly pissed myself laughing when my old man said “Huh, did something similar to that in ‘Nam” when Santa blew up the guy with a grenade.
Definitely some SOLID hammer sequences. Have no problem believing the damage is realistic ... And I'm glad Mrs. Claus sent Skully and the spare bag; she DOES still love him after 1100 years.
IT'S back or STILL on PRIME at the moment for this Holy Day season. Which is mostly not "set apart", by vast majority, and yet a minority recall it's about the Mass of Christ and a celebration of Creator Father's gift of HIS Creator Son to be a blood sacrifice for the sins of mankind against Creator and Creator's creation. Blessings, zephyrs, soft sun. Kiss the Son lest the Father be angry.
When my friend group and I watched this movie in the theater, I was sitting next to the one with the most contagious laugh. This movie is great." Truly one of my favorite Christmas memories.

I'm glad that the movie used Santa origins as a Norse & possibly Viking ancestry in the action film. Those are the lore I read as a kid in children books.
It actually makes a lot of sense. Much of the modern "myth" around Santa Claus comes from the Nordic holiday of Júl (Yule). During Júl, Oðinn (aka Odin) would deliver gifts to women and children.
They thought the Boogieman wasn’t real, they told me Santa was fake, I believed in both that fateful night. When both came to the children’s aid and told those doubters who to fear that night.

I think I heard David Harbor express an interest in expanding the universe of Violent Night like a “Rise of the Guardians”-Type franchise. Given that Santa in this movie was a Viking Warrior, I’d LOVE to see more backstory on that and to see how other Legends/Holiday Characters would be in this universe
Amazing scene! Favourite part of the film. I wish they'd kept the original line from the trailer though - the plateful of cookies one was OK, but 'time for season's beatings' was great. Lol.
IF you're adding "found item" weapons, Joker's disappearing pencil needs to be in the list BUT I choose "Death by Candy Cane" over both the others. Ranks up there with Tea Cup.
The sheer degree of incompetence out of those soldiers is incredible ("he's slaughtering us at close range and we have guns, should we shoot him?" "Nah, let's run right up to him without even firing so he can kill us too." "Okay!"), but it doesn't prevent this from being highly entertaining.
I want more modern setting movies with sledgehammers. This was way too fun to watch, I've seen all the martial arts weapons and swords being used in action movies before, but this is the first time I've seen my beloved sledgey being used with such grace. Yes, I played a lot of sledge in r6 siege
I was only disappointed they didnt male the grenade pants thing more like a bloody kaboom than a fireball. Visually have the surround snow become gradually red from bloody mist just sound so over the top. Other than that, the movie is perfect. There better be a dang sequel!
