- In this episode, I'm scaling another South African mountain pass with my Honda CRF250L called Savannah! It's called Naude's Nek Pass and wow, this was some incredible scenery - did you know that South Africa was so mountainous and green??

People of South Africa.....Your country is absolutely stunning. Your people are so warm and friendly. Everyone is happy. The hospitality is just awesome. So glad I’m watching these videos. Excellent work making them. Thank you.
Thank you from a South African. Your compliments are appreciated and very true.
South Africans are going through political issues but yes they are warm at heart.
Just think: what she is doing, does not even consist of 1% of South Africa. There are millions of places just as awesome and some even better.
Dankie man
Thank you from South Africa
For some reason experienced travellers often says South Africa and New Zealand are among the prettiest countries in the world. By watching Noraly's videos I have to agreed. Awesome series so far...
What they think about India??
agree
A few months ago I though the Netherlands should hire Noraly as their nation's "traveling ambassador of good will". Now I'm thinking South Africa should get their bid in for her services. She IS simply the best thing on UA-cam (correction, make it the best thing on the Internet as a whole!)
Agree wholeheartedly. This has opened my eyes to SA in a way that all of their official travel material could not.
Unbelievable and very attractive Noraley
Maybe the best thing in the world. Who does more to change the way people see the world for the better than Itchy Boots? Maybe Itchy Boots is the best of Noraly and the best of the people and places she goes but, her channel has given me a much more positive view of the world and humanity. It seems sad that we teach children about wars, conflicts and the ways other people are different than us. Itchy Boots shows us that people are people and they are good. Gandhi said, "The enemy is fear. We think it is hate, but it is really fear." Fear is the gateway to change, but we have to have the courage to face it. If we'd stop threatening each other to feel safe, we would be safer.
Yes, yes and well.........yes! My spirit human for sure!!!!
You are one hundred percent right! She is a superb human being.
It's interesting how we were all worried for her when she first arrived in South Africa, but she as always fearlessly flies around making friends. The majority of people are kind and helpful. Fear begins in the mind you can harness it or let it overtake you.
South africa is safe. Just stay away from townships and city. South africa has has dangerous areas so we just avoid it.

Noraly, I grew up in Southern Africa, and found the vast emptiness of the mountain scenery magical and uplifting. One felt so in harmony with the natural beauty. Perhaps you feel it too. From your comments on seeing no one as you ride I think you do. You have a very special gift for communication and that together with your professional filming makes itchy boots the deserved star of You Tube. Bravo!
That deep green valley shot, it was truly magical. It’s what we call Gods country here in the southern USA
Philip, where u live now? Myself am a transplant born in J'burg 1954 and now am north of Houston.
What can I say? Fantastic trip, and exciting too
3:01 - Anna the dog looking out over the view. Priceless!
Hi Noraly, it`s an important matter for me, to say
THANK YOU FOR YOUR FORMER BIG DECISION,TO RIDE ACROSS SOUTH AFRICA and to take us with you !!!
By doing your "job", SA got the best tourist embassador and advertising manager for their country, and all for free.
Anna the dog is having the best time of her life looking out at the view while Noraly narrates about the paintings on the rock face.
Thank you Noraly for making adventure possible for all us still on lockdown. ☘️
You just continue to impress don't you?
You know, a single female touring the US or Europe alone would be impressive and unusual enough, but the places you go are amazing. And you editing is outstanding!
Thank you!
When Savannah was waiting in the motorcycle shop for her new owner, she was certainly hoping for a nice companion like Noraly to pick her up and take her on the nicest adventures! I think she hit the jackpot, a dream (team) come true!
Yes, and altough she step down in terms of cilinder size, from 500 to 250 cm3, this bike is much lighter an agile, so, much better for Noraly. I'm sure she doesn't notice to have less power on the highway...
Yes, Savanah is having a great adventurous time, and being cared for by an owner that is meticulous with regards to maintenance. Live long and prosper.
Love how the dog just sits on the rock with the best view of them all and just seems to enjoy the view...
I am acquainted with SA from my childhood as it is a cricket playing nation. But I had no idea that SA is so beautiful. Thaank you Noraly, for introducing beauty of nature at its best. Today's journey is awsome.
With love, from Bangladesh.
You make me smile on every ride Noraly, thank you for sharing your adventures:). At 71 with some digestive issues that limit me a bit (part of what would disallow me doing what you do) but not enough to keep me from having a great family, do remodeling work I enjoy, ride my street motorcycle occasionally, still downhill ski and am trying to get back into photography while staying fit by exercising. I really envy you and in a "different life" would love to do what you are doing. I just want to say a special thank you for taking me along on your journey, showing me the world, educating me, showing me other cultures. your personality and enjoyment doing what you do is the "icing on the cake". I think I can say not just for me but for all who have been fortunate enough to find our dear Itchy Boots, we share your joy, thank you!

I'm thinking Anna lives the ... BEST LIFE.
Agree! It touched my heart to see her just chilling and taking it all in. I also felt protective of her on that rock ledge and laughed at myself for worrying about her. 🤣😉
So many travelers head straight to South Africa's coast via a main road and miss out on the unbelievably stunning interior. So glad you have not done this. Thanks once again for another brilliant video.
Wow.. season 5 is so awesome.. ❤️❤️
Lovely shot of Anna looking over the landscape. Also there needs to be an award from UA-cam for your videography...those drone inserts are just wonderful.

So far (and I have watched a number of your lovely videos) every place you have visited, I have done so too. I lived in South Africa for nearly 40 years, and travelled extensively - favouring these remote and hidden gems. We did our trips on bikes, cars and 4x4's - the vehicle choice determined by the terrain to be traversed for any given trip. Watching you ride these paths brings back many memories, and in a lot of cases I recognise the very place you are in.
What is particularly pleasing about your presentations on South Africa is that you show not only the beauty of the country, but its people too. Many people have a distorted view of South Africa - but your travels show its true character - friendly and peaceful people.
Living in New York City, and always getting caught in the hustle and bustle of daily life here, well until a year ago- anyway it is absolutely majestic to watch your videos. It keeps me humble to see the magnificence of the earth thru your eyes- thank you!
Try the Adirondacks !
The boy and I culled a dozen kangaroos (roos) last night. Bagged a coupla other nasties too, feral cats etc. Tomorrow the wife and I fly our plane out of Merimbula as the weather is great. Blackie is coming over later to get the boat ready for tuna fishing on Friday. Before breakfast just now I’ll feed the cattle and open the gates to let the new bull through to do his work (he likes his job!). NYC seems a little dull. Australia.

Noraly....from one retired geologist to another...thank you for what you do. You are beyond a shadow of a doubt the BALLSIEST woman I have seen on the internet. The travels that you have done solo on your bikes would be difficult for the vast majority of men in the world to attempt! Enjoyed my own memories of South Africa and South America from your videos. If you like great grilled seafood I highly recommend Die Walskipper restaurant just south of Jeffries Bay on the coast. The ambience is great when you sit at their picnic tables on the sand next to the beach. With your geology background, another must visit is Namibia. The landscape there was really amazing to us when my brother and I visited it 15 years ago.
Watching about 20 minutes of IB-journeys always makes my day (here in depressing covid Germany) ending in a great joyfullness. Thank you, Noraly 😃👍.
It sure looks like Noraly made the right decision to get the hell out of Europe. I am in Canada, and it feels like we have all been robbed of more than a year of our lives due to covid lockdowns.
@Holymolie.
Tell that to the ones that lost loved ones to Covid 19.
All of us that did not catch the virus, do not have to complain about anything. I know some people that survived the virus, but after upto a year of 'recovery' they still are unable to function. Some lost their lives and others survived but sort of lost their lives as well. So, do not complain about some minor sacrifices that have to be done.
@@erikloupias7511 I'm not making light of covid, so quit making assumptions. I live 1000 kms away from my own family and not seen them, or been able to hug another human being since Christmas of 2019. I also know people who have gotten sick and others who have lost loved ones.

I never dreamed that Africa would be so beautiful. Thank you! I'm relieved this pass was so much easier than Sani Pass. That was Spooky ! I saw you using a rock to rest your bikes side stand on and I don't want to sound like a know it all, but, I want to recommend to you to pick up a side stand foot pad extender. I have one on my bike and it works great in sandy, loose soil, or gravel. I saw them for your bike on the web for around $10 US and they can be applied in ten minutes with three Allan head set screws. You'll love it I'm sure. Also, would you think about making available a poster of You and Savannah with a beautiful African background scenery ? For purchase of course. Something like 24 inches x 18inches ? That would be great !

South Africa best scenery yet.
Jagluiperd.
You picked your season well. This time of the year, up in the high country, it's "champagne weather" time (cool, fresh, effervescent, clear). As the Winter moves on it gets drier, and dustier. By August there's enough wind to make you appreciate this year's attempt by Spring to get sprung (even though it normally gets killed off by more dry weather, a bit more wind, and warming up with that).
I'd recommend asking about Nieu Bethesda if your itinerary takes you near Graaf Reinett (which is quite an attractive town - generally not something South Africa offers). Helen Martin, the "Owl Lady" created the Owl House at Nieu Bethesda. An entire house used for her eccentric art. That probably doesn't sound like a reason to go out of your way, but just the Owl House is fascinating enough, on its own. It's something you have to see to know why, though. And then there are fossils in the river there. South Africa has the most fossils of the mammal-like reptiles that died in the extinction that happened before the time of the dinosaurs. But don't take my word for it; ask around. Maybe someone in the comments can offer you some better reason to stop off at Nieu Bethesda. With its pitch black starry night skies ...
