Also the galactic butthurt with your galactic glitches video made me feel bad so I'm going to go watch that now lol. Also thanks for continuing your green glitches series. Most poketubers would have put out maybe two or three videos about it but you're working on part ten
This is hilarious. I read Japanese so I can back up that typing for TM55 attack is the trainer class "Youngster", which is literally called "Shorts" in Japanese.
Fun fact: Shorts was a type that Game Freak originally programmed into the games and was exclusive to the Youngster trainers' Pokémon, but had to be removed because they were too broken. They tried to bring it back in Gen 2, but removed it for good because it was impossible to balance. Youngster Joey's top percent Rattata comment is a leftover reference to it. Source: trust me, dude
Finally it continues! Im stoked this series is very unique compared to other glitch showcases not only because it features green glitches but also the way you edit the video and kind of make a story/adventure out of it.
It's actually deceptively simple to explain why the Eevee thing works - same reason all the other item swap glitches work: Past the normal maximum bag space, you're scrolling into whatever other addresses the game stores following right after the inventory. So by changing those items, you're changing the values for those addresses - in this case, the event flag for Eevee.
Looking at that every type weakness chart, how did Evereon get Steel as an immunity? I imagine that the other types that don't have a direct immunity are just those that are resisted more than twice, so 1/8 or less damage, according to the typical multipliers, but Steel type is super effective against rock, ice, and fairy, and is only resisted by water, electric, fire, and steel. That should be a 1/2 resistance, next to dark type!
Isn't it just a 2x weakness? 4 types weak to rock (flying, bug, fire, ice) and 3 resist (steel, fighting, ground). It would be 8x weak to ground and 2x to ghost too if not for immunities... earthquake is totally not OP lol
@@ImportedCheese In the Adventures Manga, Red has an "all type Eevee" for a while. It eventually stops glitching the fuck out and gets to be an Espeon (the one that kicks you out of Mt Silver by the end of GSC).
6:33 can confirm the type reads "shorts" as in the thing you wear. Likely taken from the part of the game files for trainer classes as that's part of what youngsters are called in the japanese versions of the games. The full reading is "Tanpan kozou," but strange how that despite not fitting onto the screen, it didn't have some weird overflow effect. Also a quick bulbapedia search shows that Gen I-III wrote it as たんぱんこぞう while gen IV and onwards writes it as たんパンこぞう. For some reason, Cheese's game shows the latter. 8:30 After having watched a certain video about going into the code of and investigating a Bad Egg on a certain Leaf Green save file, I can't help but wonder how far gone the metadata of that Kakuna is. 10:00 I wonder if the man stopping has to do with new loading zones. What would happen if you went into the cave entrance there? Would the new area even load? 15:05 looks like some issue with the next zone never loading. I'm guessing it has to do with some primitive version of the void bike glitch seen in DaiPa. Maybe you already know about this technique and I hope this doesn't come off as pretentious or patronizing (maybe you'd prefer patreonizing), but one thing that keeps me watching to the last second of the video is a post-end card scene. Most creators that I know do this usually put an ending skit, funny blooper or relevant meme. So if you really wanna farm those watch minutes...
It's not Patreonizing! I kinda did that here, and a lot of my videos do have those, but I put the final AHHHNIX scene before the Patreons because uh...I wanted more people to see it
I can explain why the trainers sprites gets screw up at the end! What happens is that each overworld map gets assigned a list of sprites they can load, more accurately every map has a group of sprites for north/west and one for south/east, so when you're going from one route to other though unintended means, those lists aren't properly updating so the game just load whatever sprites it can
Every time I think there can't possibly be more glitches for you to show off you pull out another full episode. Amazing videos my dude please keep it up :D
As a kid, my NA copy of Pokémon Blue was glitched beyond belief from using too many GameShark codes, and I too could catch trainers like they were wild Pokémon! They were all lvl 0 Dittos who'd immediately faint then underflow to lvl 255.
See?You should always take the stairs! Its way safer! I always take the stairs and i never had to deal with a diseased nidoran! (Falling? What?Just don't!).
This channel is really just a treasure, every single literal upload I've watched and caught up to, subbed. Just awesome content, keep up the great work. Especially the Glitches. AAHHHHNIIIX GOOOOO
Also, a note on the all types Pokemon, if you grounded the Pokemon, it would have an 8x weakness to ground, so you could say it’s especially weak to smack down
13:40 Just checked and this chart is wrong. It's from a fan game, apparently. For clarification, the actual defensive matchups for an all-typer is below. Gen 6+ chart: 0x from Normal, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Ghost, Electric, Psychic, and Dragon 1/16x from Bug and Grass 1/2x from Steel and Dark 1x from Flying, Fire, Water, Ice, and Fairy 2x from Rock Gen 2-5 chart: 0x from Normal, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Ghost, Electric, and Psychic 1/16x from Grass 1/8x from Bug 1/4x from Steel 1/2x Dark 1x from Flying, Fire, Water, Ice, and Dragon 2x from Rock Gen 1 chart: 0x from Normal, Fighting, Ground, Ghost, and Electric 1/8x from Grass 1/4x from Poison 1/2x from Fire and Bug 1x from Water 2x from Flying, Psychic, and Dragon (not that the last one matters in Gen 1) 4x from Rock and Ice
The way maps work is actually that the legitimate area map you're in is in the top left, and outside of that is literally other game data (so you can imagine it as the graphics being you "viewing visualized game code", both in and out of bounds) - but it also includes looping versions of the in-bounds map, for some reason I'm not sure about. How you go between areas is actually via teleporters placed on the edges of in-bounds paths; those teleporters aren't placed where you're not meant to be able to walk though, and that's how you can walk into any map's out of bounds area. That's how you kept looping in Saffron City. Extra fun fact: That out of bounds is what people call "Glitch City", meaning every single map actually has its own "Glitch City". More fun facts: Sometimes the game data in "Glitch Cities" comes out in the form of cuttable trees... and because they're still meant to _be_ cuttable when interpreted as map data, you can indeed cut them, and there for change game code values just by interacting with them. xD
That WoW sound effect at 0:44 really through me off, considering I was literally playing WoW while watching, and thought "what happened? Why the error sound?"
I think I remember something about someone hacking the international versions so that the game didn't crash if you went outside the intended area and apparently it just messes up your coordinates and because the game needs *something* out there it just makes copies of the map and shifts them upwards. I think it might eventually lead to a "glitch city" effect. Though I'm not entirely sure. After all, it's been awhile since I've watched that video.
I think you really got the hang of the sketches now! The length and frequency applied here feels _juuust_ right for fun comedic sketches sprinkled in between.
Not Japanese, but I am a freelance Japanese translator on the side. "Tanpan" (短パン) does indeed mean shorts/short pants, with "短" meaning "short", and "パン" meaning..."pan", short for 'pants'.
Wonder what that TMTRAINER’d Nidoran would accurately be called in Pokémon Green, since the TMTRAINER status is named after the text string in the English games (so, Japanese Blue’s English translation) that the opponent’s name is frequently changed to when the effect is applied. Edit: turns out this isn’t a true TMTRAINER, which is a confusion between freeze and burn, not sleep and burn. Though maybe that just means the Blue engine is trying to create the frostbite status 24 years early lmao. Also for those who didn’t know: the Nidoran’s TM55 is the 255th move index (256th if you’re a coward and use 1-indexing), and is almost certainly what is functionally called when a Pokémon is trapped by a trapping move like Fire Spin (in Gen 1), or is asleep or frozen (in Gen 1 and Gen 2), since move index 0 is a Super Glitch move that doesn’t have a defined effect, not “do nothing,” and is only used like the digit 0 is in 1000: to hold the extra move places when not all of them have moves in them.
A lot of glitch moves have really bad accuracy and never hit. If you use x accuracy you can hit with some of them. Also can confirm the telji error bug happens in the us versions as well via the ditto/mew glitch if you do anything other than fight during the glitch phase. In the case of the us version though it is listed as 9 error etc and it forces a glitched fight with said trainer
OMG, Youngster Joey wishes he could meet these glitched mons just to get one of the Shorts typed mon. Too bad he couldn't wear them however; no matter how comfortable they might be!

How did this game even actually run? It's a god damn miracle you can even get passed the title screen when you realize how volatile Gen 1 Pokemon actually is.
I was kind of hoping the "prophet" at the end would glitch through the door and into the apartment(?). Reactions optional, but I mean we already know the prophet has the same space-warping powers that Bug Catcher does. Come to think of it, as an aside, Bug Catcher has time-warping powers too, since he can stop time and reset time back to before he picked up Eevee, did he really need Dialga's help to get back home?
The joke at 8:15 speaks right from my heart. Don't get me wrong, I like (not all, but some of) those games, a lot even - but good grief, that fandom... really needs to calm down.
The reason why the BDSP video didn't do very well is because everybody has seen those glitches a while ago. TPC made the mistake of giving ILCA, who created Pokemon Home and some Idol Sim game, the task of remaking an entire Pokemon game. Of course they barely knew what they were doing so they just copy & pasted the originals, which included the glitches. So if you've seen a Diamond and Pearl glitches video, you've seen a BDSP glitches video. Pokemon Green on the other hand isn't exactly a game most English speakers have played. At least not enough to do much of anything. So these videos are actually fresh.
iirc the English Brock Through Walls glitch is a result of the game trying to send you on a pre-set path (to get to Brock's gym) but it's just nonsense, or something like that, because you're not supposed to start to the guy's right. ...BUT it does also turn off the collision flag and never turns it back on, which like forty different things in these games will do if you try hard enough. Good game.

Uh let me ask the scriptwriter
My face when I heard the Genealogy of The Holy War OST in the video 🤯.
Did you play it? What are your thoughts about it?
I did play it! Loved it!
Especially because one of the big bads is a fire type!
Love this series, not enough time to talk about Lord onix though.
I feel actually bad for you for being stuck on an island with trees only and nothing else
I'm sure we'll find a way out.
You just gotted Coconut Malled at 10:08
Music suggested by a fan!! Celadon Mall?!
Maybe
So these videos are actually fresh.
but the bdsp ones are in 3d!!!!!!!!!
Babe wake up new Imported Cheese episode
if it was Gen 1 sleep they can't even act the turn they wake up!
@@ImportedCheese classic Gen 1 cheese strikes yet again
i actually new the rock weakness thanks to lockstins arceas video. assuming he didn't make a mistake.
want to beat a god? throw a rock at it
But...the god IS rock?! Lord Onix?!
@@ImportedCheese praise to lord AAAHHNIX
I wonder if you could do anything with the fact that gens 1 & 2 store the type(s) of a Pokémon separately from the species that said Pokémon is.
Finally a new episode of Spaghetti Code :D
I have to space them out so I don't run out too quickly
All right buddy, you're coming with me to the station about your worrying confession
Is it as ILLEGAL as copy-pasting a comment from a different video?!
Thanks for the engagement tho
BDSP are a direct port of the source code of DP with graphical updates. That's why they're buggy. Void Glitch and all
The quality
iirc the English Brock Through Walls glitch is a result of the game trying to send you on a pre-set path (to get to Brock's gym) but it's just nonsense, or something like that, because you're not supposed to start to the guy's right.
...BUT it does also turn off the collision flag and never turns it back on, which like forty different things in these games will do if you try hard enough. Good game.
What a great game
You know I’ve heard rumours from several playgrounds that shorts was a scraped type that was removed for being too strong the only thing remaining was the shorts trainer class until now. Praise to our lord ONIX… jk onix sucks Glory to Charizard
aWa uwu
The dude talking about the Onix prophecy is actually saying that gambling is life.
Onix is life
Ya know when you mentioned no one watched the galactic vid, I realized I somehow missed it. I don’t know if it didn’t pop up in my feed or if I just didn’t see it.
UA-cam is conspiring against me! It's why I have to whine so much in my videos! You should watch the Legends Arceus Challenge run, too!!
@@ImportedCheese oh I went back and watched it, after finishing this one of course.
I love this series so much
Thanks for watching this installment!
wait there was another video between this one and episode 8 of green glitches? Fricken youtube subscription box glitching on me and not showing your videos even if I am subscribed and have notifications on.
UA-cam pls...
happy 1 year anniversary to this video :)
