Thanks for this video. I haven't visited yet. but my great great grandfather Canuto Berea was mayor of A Caruna and a famed classical composer. They hold a music festival in his honor in there every summer. .
But wow so sad to see so much graffiti ? Is there gangs or bad crime? I'm really shocked a bit by all the graffiti.. it distracts from all the gorgeous Medieval churches and architectural features.
@@SpencerMusicSchool Graffiti is a general cancer of all western cities, has nothing to do wirh "bad gangs"..ist just a sig of the NWO...apart of that spanish cities are by far the safest and cleanest of all Europe...i live in London and we have here graffiti too plus grime encrusted in the floor from decades a go...or go to Italy,Germany,France,etc...you will see graffiti everywhere.
What a beautiful City shown to us by a person who was just like being with your personal friend,so relaxing, the best ever walking city blog ,Thank You !
Thank you for the very nice video! Especially for putting the name of the squares/streets in the video, which is useful to make your own list of must-visit places
Thank you for this I watched this with emotions, my Grandfather I never met was from there he came to the USA in the early 40s, I still have famliy there I have never met and dont know of this family here. I one day would love to go there doubt I'll ever find my famliy there but would atleast like to see where he came from I know my dad wonders often for my grandfather passed when he was just 11 years old. But once gain thank you very much for showing this.
What's their names, as my family's from there, my mum's names is "Suarez" and my grandads is "Ferreira" they had 5 daughters and one son, my dad met my mum at his best mates wedding which was to Her sister, my Aunt, so my uncle is also my dad best mate. There both from Bristol were my mum and her sister r now, as my dad works at Filton, airoplane factory, I also have 2 grate grandads and 2 grandmothers from there and 4 great great grandfathers grandmother's, and they had sons\daughters which would be many people and my 4th 3rd cousins, my second cousins which I know, who are my grans sisters, (Lola's) daughters\sons, sons, one has a house in Veigue near Sada, (A Veigues or Vegas is a grassy plain area or wheat 🌾 plain) on the Eastside of La coruna if u pass over the river mero u will find a lot of nice areas like "Oleriros" and "Santa" "Cristina," and "Mera", "Pontedeume" and "Ares" before reaching "Ferrol"where there's a very big Naval Base with submarines and further up Theres "Valdovino" and "Pantin"were they hold international surf competitions,
Beautiful. I know all the places you've mentioned. It is a lovely area. A sort of hidden gem but more and more people are learning about it. I hope you connect with your families. Thanks for watching my video!
La Coruña es una ciudad excepcional. Posee un gran equilibrio en en el conjunto de los edificios. Los ventanales corridos del paseo marítimo son un gran espectáculo.
This got randomly recommended, glad to see a coruñesa with American accent lol I was born at El Materno and sound coruñés as fuck in Spanish but also sound American as hell in English. Love that we are bringing some diversity back home!!
You are so funny. That's what happens when you speak English in school and Spanish and Galego at home. I wasn't allowed to speak English at home. As a result you get two people in one body with one brain that sees three languages as one. Crazy shit!
I thought you were American. That was a lovely video and it looked quite, certainly in the old part, I love history. What are to costs like when it comes to taxes, bus and bikes? I always look forward to your videos they are so well put together and you are so cheerful. Thank you for sharing your home town.
I was born here but moved to NYC when I was 5. I lived in NY for nearly 30 years! Half of my family is American. I'm a citizen of the world!! Taxes can be expensive, about 30-40% of your salary goes to taxes, depending on how much you make. General sales tax is 21%, ouch. A bus ride is about 1.30 euros but you can get a discount, down to 85 cents. Remember, all our health care is covered! which is amazing. Property is pretty expensive in Coruña. We are surrounded by water on 3 sides so land is limited in the city. Rent can be 500 euros on up. This is more or less. It is not cheap also considering that many people only make 1000 euros a month, average salary is 22,000/yr. The thing is that food and clothes are not expensive. Quality of life is good here. Glad you enjoyed it!!
Normally, July and August are the warmest months in Coruña, but you never know about clouds and rain. We do have extensive areas of clear western view as there is so much coastline. Fingers crossed we have clear skies!! I'm so looking forward to the eclipse!!
I will be for 3 nights in Coruna in the end of October. Why are the streets so empty? Could you tell me how it is there in October. I will be walking before the Camino from Sarria and plsn to end the trip there.
Oh wow, sounds wonderful walking the Camino!! The weather in Coruña is never boring. You can have the 4 seasons in one day, haha. I always tell people to wear good shoes, just in case it rains, and layers. The streets were empty because either it was lunch time or a Sunday afternoon. I don't remember exactly. You'll see Coruña is a very lively city!!! In this video, although it was Christmas, the wine streets for tapas are like this all year round!!! The shopping areas are always full, too. ua-cam.com/video/w9HV36eXTSI/v-deo.htmlsi=MnrCpZzccUYj6oA9 Hope this helps and Buen Camino!!
@@MuchoHop Thank you, well I have waterproof shoes for the Camino. I know Galicia is rainey. I choose Coruna for those three nights because its only 30 min train drive from Santiago. Being 6 nights there for that is Santiago to small and I wanted to see the ocean Thsnks for the video
Uii, que mala leche. A Coruña!!! Of course! For those of you who don't know what we are talking about. In the old days, when people spoke Spanish, we would call this city, La Coruña. When people spoke Galician, we would say, A Coruña. In recent years, the official name of this city is the Galician version, A Coruña. So, that is what this person is reminding me of. Not being raised in Spain, I don't understand things like this. I just LOVE being Galician and LOVE the Galician language and culture!!!

Beautiful sights in A Coruna. Is A Coruna cloudy in August? Thinking about the eclipse in August 2026: clear western view, sun low in the sky
