- Austin Butler had a big night at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards! The 31-year-old actor took home the prize for Best Actor for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in “Elvis.” But even in a room full or A-listers, Austin still gets starstruck. At the start of his speech, he gave a shoutout to Brad Pitt, who he also gave a hug to on his way to accept the award. But Austin’s speech had some sentimental moments too. The “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” star also remembered his mom who Lori, who died in 2014.

I'm so happy for him, he deserves all the praises and awards, and he absolutely deserves the Oscar!!! On side note, when the male interviewer mentioned Austin's mom, he immediately started clenching his jaw, you can tell it was hard for him, I'm thankful the female interviewer notice he got sad, and tried to lift the mood.
I know, right? So incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. This is the
exact reason why I should've interviewed him instead of her. IWould avoid asking personal questions about passing family members, even though we would bond over our tragedies, our shared love of books and music.

I think he's picked the accent up as he was rehearsing for the Elvis character for a couple of years before they started filming. Would be hard the shake after years. . It's amazing
How did his mom die? Tragic! He’s so young. 😭
His mother passed away when he was 23, from cancer. Elvis also lost his mother at 23. Austin has said finding this out gave him a way to connect with Elvis’s humanity.
