He is good enough that he does not need to put other drivers into the wall like he did Lowndes at Newcastle. There are other examples of this poor attitude as well. Note. Van Gisbergan is in the same boat. Basically Scotty has more than enough talent to win by driving clean, no need to be dirty as well.

I knew of Scott from iRacing when he was a super 2 driver. I said back in 2013 this guy will be a supercars champion. I hope he becomes the Indycar champion one day too 👍

@@bhagvedsingh2147 except the Ford Falcon FGX was outdated in 2018, the new ZB Commodore had better aero and centre of gravity and dominated, Scotty Mac was the only Ford Falcon in the top 10 and won because his engineer pulled all the rear aero off the Falcon as the ZB also had less drag. This made the Falcon faster on the straights but very unstable in the corners and under heavy braking. Only Scotty Mac could control the Falcon like that and said he actually preferred a loose car setup anyway. The dudes a young legend mate, he’ll do good things in Indy car, give him time.

I was at McLaughlin's first ever VASC race in 2012,(it was also my first ever motorsport event). i wasnt there because of him though, i was there for the formula fords where garry jacobson and jack le brocq were going for the title. garry won the title that year
Scotty's a top bloke. Had the opportunity to chat with him several times out side of the racing environment, he's definitely no tall-poppy (up himself), you can have a yarn and a laugh with him just like any other bloke. Always knew he'd be heading overseas at some point, well deserving of this opportunity. Wish him the best.
It's Holden Monaro not Marano and there have been other v8 supercar drivers that have had a guest drive in indycar at the Gold Coast race like Jason Bright finished 18th and Marcus Marshall finished 13th
Watch out! This guy was winning in the Volvo consistently when his much more experienced team mate could only manage mid field. Put him in a competitive car and it won't matter that he is new to Indy.
Forget the race but the man knows how to torture tires and transmission. Street course all 4 tires locked up sideways down shifting and makes the pass with millimeters to spare!! A bit of ugly debut Sunday but that's racing!!

Tremendous challenge ahead for that driver, he is kind old for nowadays standard, (he is young indeed) an Indycar is way way way light weight, more agile on handling than a Supercar, more corner speed also, his teammates are at top of the pole, and he has little formula experience, good luck driver you will need it.
I really am hoping Scotty kills it over in the IndyCar series. He's been a fantastic driver, rather frustrating for us Holden fans, and good dude.
