      I think it’s stupid how the flamethrower is so good against bugs, but they don’t let the electricity weapon be good against bots.

      It's almost doable to kill a charger with a two diver arc thrower team. Afterword you'll die to spewers bc it took so long and corpses will block your shots.

      I was running ark thrower with rover against bugs today and if you keep a bit of distance between yourself and the bugs it’s pretty consistent and is really effective. I was consistently getting 30+ kill streaks and it felt really fun to use. I also found that with chargers, I didn’t need to specifically target them that much as the lighting would chain to their heads and slow them pretty often. It’s definitely not the best support weapon but it’s a lot better than you’re giving it credit.

    The thing about the Arc thrower vs Chargers is you have to hit the head. It kills them in 5 or 6 hits to the head but takes a lot more if you start hitting the sides. It's not a GREAT charger killer, but when you're alone and you need to deal with it: just throw a stun grenade and walk backwards while shooting it facing straight at the head.

      @@arcticowl1091 Try aiming slightly higher. The no target glitch happens most often when I'm shooting at the ground. Its like a reverse flamethrower - worse up close and vs chargers but much better vs bile spewers and at longer range.

      Its nice and all but the charge time nerf truly made it painfully slow/ not worth the squize. Flamethrower simply overshadows arc thrower in every way now. Thanks balance team :)

      @@alexandreparent5754 Meanwhile I couldn't use the flamethrower to save my life if it depended on it. I find the Arc Thrower much better because of the stagger and extra range. In difficulty 9 I just don't feel like the flamethrower helps me more than it puts me in danger, wouldn't mind it dealing less damage but having a fear effect on burning bugs.

    The spear charger tech is the perfect mix of useful, jank, and dangerous tech, I love using it so much. That, combined with the ability to pretty consistently 1-shot bile titans, makes it the GOAT against bugs for me.

      @@kevvvbot the titan must be cemtered in front of you and the tip of the spear must hit the forehead of it. Sometimes it sucks because they turn. Usually if you shot them as soon as they finish releasing bile you can do it easily, long distance shots also possible because the bile will go in one direction forva long time. Its mostly experience, keep playing with it and you wkll get better.

      I use it on bugs, just gives me peace of mind not to worry about a support weapon/repeatedly dying to get old loadout since I get 2 rockets every minute or so.

      Same. The cooldown is so short you basically are never without one with you need it. With a decent primary (I use the Sickle almost exclusively) you don't really 'need' another support weapon for anything smaller than a Hulk/Charger.

      Well... I would spawn 1 when I land and spawn another one when doing objectives or dealing with patrols letting me have 3 rockets per engagement.
      Fastest way to deal with drop ships also

    The eat, recoiless, and quasar I feel are all really well balanced. Quasar gives you that infinite ammo, no fall off, but limited to like 4shots a minute. With backpack option freedom. EAT is useful for youself or others in a pinch, but is slow at only 2 per 70seconds and very awkward to use depending upon situation. The bot/bugs wont' always let you stay near the drop station for it. The recoiless with a buddy has the fastest output in the game, but you sacrifice by no backpack slot. THough is very ammo efficient and suffers long cooldown during each reload. You have an anti-tank option for all occasions depending upon what you need or are willing to put up with.

    HMG + Supply Pack is quickly becoming my favorite bot load out if just for the extra stun grenades, stims and ammo that the backpack gives you to truly make the HMG succeed. I feel like it has the fastest non-rocket time to kill on Hulks especially with the safety of a stun grenade to line up your shots.
    Feels like a deadlier laser cannon at the cost of having a long reload animation.

      @@xXstabtolifeXx Very usable but be sure to not get caught out in an open field with low ammo because you will have to reload it and you will get yourself killed if you have to.
      Hell, if you're strapped with a Supply Pack - it's probably worth keeping that sucker at above 25-30% or more ammo at all times because reloading that thing in-combat will get you vaporized.

      @@micahatcher3837 you can take out three to four Hulks by the time it takes for the quesadilla crunch to reload if you're accurate enough

    I regularly get the highest kills + no deaths on Helldive bugs running laser cannon with randoms. I run it with sickle/GP/stuns/laser dog/Eagle 110/rail cannon. The laser itself is like a flamethrower with more range, and between the sickle, laser backpack, and las-cannon itself you can easily have 100% DPS uptime. The eagle/rail cannon will crack open any pesky charger/titans, allowing you to handle them with relative ease. The GP is just a utility for bug holes and little else.

      @@seditiouswalrus stun + 110 = dead charger 90% of the time. The remaining 10% he's been cracked open for the laser to finish with (if you can do it before he bleeds out)

    Found out last night that the grenade launcher can in fact kill bile titans, and stupidly fast, just shoot 2-3x into their bellies.

    My only ISSUE (that is not related to the bad targeting) with the arc thrower is that it did NOT deserve the range nerf they need to revert THAT asap.
    Like I don't mind I can't stun a hulk, If the weapon can not 1 tap devastators, if it had the previous range and consistent targeting I can stunlock those awful swarm of medium enemies that 7 and above throws at you from a safe enough distance.
    If I wanted to get into the enemies faces to shoot I'd just pick the arc blitzer.

    Already loved the AMR for Bots, but recently found out how much I love it for bugs. I run solo 7-9 depending on how hard I want to push myself that day. My current favorite bug load out is Shield (really want Jump Pack but I always get a heavy stalker map when I chance running it), AMR, EAT, and then either Gas, Napalm, 500KG, or Airstrike along with Inc Shotty, Grenade Pistol, and Impact Inc Nade. AMR 1 taps everything under chargers takes ammo pressure off my incendiary shotty and allows a backpack. Just drop the EAT for chargers and biles. I will also add that I like to kill everything with my weapons and save my stratagem for fubar moments, which probably means I'm not using them enough. Though gas on breeches is sick, I just sit there wit the AMR waiting for anything that makes it out of it. Great video, keep up the awesome content!

    The autocannon has always been top tier. It's one of those support weapons that is available pretty early on for newer players, so at first they use it as a footstool until they get the more flashier weapons. Then when the players get more seasoned, they realize that the autocannon outperformed everything else to begin with.

    Similar to the spear, the arc thrower is really amazing once you figure out its quirks like staying away from hills and dead bodies. A hidden value is how well it staggers devastators and the actual arcing kills plenty of side mobs when you are focusing the big targets, like chargers. Totally agree that gunships are absolutely hell with it tho.

    This is a well done video, definitely one of the better support weapon comparisons for Helldivers 2, especially with the format and how you explain your thinking and reasoning. I also didn't relize that the autocannon can kill chargers that quickly, albeit not as fast as other support weapons/strats. With it's flexibility and overall utility, i'm definitely going to try running that bad boy on more bug missions with a squad.

    The Eruptor nerf really hurt my goto bugs build: Eruptor, fragG, laserRover, EAT, clusterStrike, OrbitalLaser. Eats and Eruptor was plenty for CHargers, and eats covered single BileTitans. Extra titans got the laser. And the clusterStrike+laserRover cleansed the map. RIP Eruptor because it was the lynchpin holding it together. I run dominator now, but I have to have the 500kg instead to handle biles.

    I hate the Spear and I bring it on 90% of my games.

    Definitely a niche use but I’ve been able to 1-shot tanks with the airburst launcher! If you shoot slightly behind it the projectiles seem to consistently bounce into the heat sinks and take them out.

      @@DoeJohn887stalwart was perfect mob/trash clearing weapon with the Eruptor taking medium and even help with heavy clearing.
      It was a beautiful well rounded combo and build that opened up stratagem slots because all you needed was one slot for stalwart. Some of the most fun was when the Eruptor had shrapnel

      @DoeJohn887 The only reason to run it and not feel like you were gimping yourself was to have a primary that could do the jobs of a support weapon, IE dealing with holes and fabricators as well as medium armor enemies. It still does the former, but the latter now takes 3-4 shots when pre nerf it was 1-2 shots. Nothing changed from the Stalwart directly, but the weapon that was the perfect compliment to it was destroyed, therefore above difficulty 5, there's no longer a reason to take it

      stalwart got buffed actually, it's damage went up when liberators received a buff, the grenade pistol still exists, the jar-5 still exists. Maybe if everyone didn't suddenly claim they were being killed by "ricochet" when it was actually few and far between. ricochet change didn't kill people, explosions being fixed to be explosions not not be implosions. people died because the exploit there were using was taken away and they suddenly had to learn how to deal with the weapon functioning as intended. instead of doing that everyone hopped on the hate train once again and pretended they were also killed by "ricochet" so the devs removed it until they could rework it so dipshits don't kill them selves or use exploits to one shot chargers.
      I've never like the eruptor. but last few days I've used it in combo with stalwart or mg and it worked adequately as a small bug clearer/shots on spewers/hole closer. will i be happy when it gets shrapnel and some damage back, yep; but until then it was entirely on the players for trying to earn god damn clout points for who can bs the most about a problem that didn't actually exist. this one was 100% a "skill issue" and anyone that says it wasn't is a god damn liar and you deserve them taking their sweet ass time reworking the gun before they buff it back up

    The air burst against bugs is all right the reload cadence pairs pretty well with the bug breeches and especially on the destroy eggs mission one of those will completely do the main objective from a safe distance

    that 15 second cooldown was an excessive nerf to what i thought was an alright weapon. i didn't think it was too good or overpowered, slightly more convenient than the recoilless but worse if you had to deal with any bile titans or more than 1 charger.

      The silly thing is, that EATs were already better than pre-nerf quasar (especially since you can bring them alongside a secondary).
      Most people are counting just the weapons themselves, but I've lost count of the number of EATs I've called down where the call-down itself was a kill. (Eat -> Stun a hulk or charger, for example; I know there's an achievement for the resupply pack, but it's just *so* much slower.) The call-down is especially more effective against tanks because it doesn't require flanking.
      I even used to just run grenade launcher and EAT or Orbital Precision-kill bile titans after 4-5 nades to the belly, but with the stun nade nerf to bile titans, the precision is just too slow, the EAT requires running underneath, and while still perfectly viable (and more reliable than the 500kg to be perfectly honest), it means you need to isolate the bile titan first, where you previously just threw the pokeball, threw the stun grenade, then went back to kiting and clearing the breach breathing down your neck no matter what was swarming underneath the titan.

      A lot of players using something can be a sign that some element of the weapon is valued higher than others (in the quasar case that is convenience). If after a nerf a weapon goes from "a lot of players using it" to "an average amount of players using it", then the weapon is still in a decent spot despite the nerf.
      I still see people using the quasar quite a bit. I rarely see the recoilless rifle.

    I do have to agree about the absolute utility of the Autocannon.
    Autocannon, Sickle, Stun Grenades and whatever secondary. I'm actually playing around with the Verdict.
    And it leaves me three stratagem slots for all sorts of useful options.

    Pair any gun with the spear that has no max distance to bullets. You can use the Quazar or something to blast obstacles, then use spear to destroy objectives. Works great when camping high ground on Bot missions.

    I just heard that the person thats been in charge of balancing the game since release, doesn't even play the game themselves. So there you go, that's why the fun has been slowly being taken away. Someone who had no clue what they were talking about, was in charge. I mean sure other people at the studio have to have seen the work being done and thought "is this right?", but apparently no one cared to speak up.

    The Quasar works well when you get a charger or a hulk once in a while. When chargers and hulks are the support mobs, you need to rely on the primary to kill them and it gets complicated.

    I find that laser weapons work better at range. So the ideal is to get somewhere off to the side of the fight, crouch or go prone and just sweep the ground blindly(keeping mind to not hit your allies). It hits EVERYTHING. It feels like a knife. You can do the same with an smg but not at the range a laser can. Works with any beam laser.

    Loving the HMG at the moment it destroys hulks with a quick stun grenade and the fact you can destroy shreiker nests and spore spewers with it from a fair distance is impressive

    love the autocannon against bugs! take down objectives at range and take out bug holes just like a grenade launcher. dominates every medium tier enemy, and even chargers once you get a feel for it. also, i see so many people running the railcannon strike to kill bile titans, and usually that leaves them alive, but just a few shots to the head or the cracked armor takes them down and saves another stratagem being used. if you avoid having to do a full reload, you can basically use it as a primary and it's awesome.

    Regarding the railgun versus devastators (17:58):
    Railgun kills devastators in one hit anywhere on the lower body, even at minimum charge. Leg, waist, or pelvis is an instant kill. For heavy devs, you can aim for their feet if you have the right positioning. I usually aim for the joint between the pelvis and leg on non-heavies since you have a very low chance of missing.

    Can confirm that the laser cannon was good against illuminates in HD1. The autocannon was good against them also.

    Just love the spear since i figured out how the targeting works. Would say it works 90% of the time.
    Hulks and striders can be tough.

    10:12 for some tips, here ya go; when the spear starts locking on, but doesn’t, that literally means “you are close to the perfect spot.”
    You can always lock onto flying enemies, and has one of the best anti-air capabilities.
    It will lock onto nearly all bot structures, and if shot at them, will one shot almost all of them.
    It will lock onto brood commanders and above, one shot on average for bcs and chargers, 2-3 with biletitans. An enemy doesn’t need to be active to be targeted. If you can’t get lock-on, it is mostly because you can’t see what the game considers the center.

    The airburst is the kinda weapon that you bring for fun to support that one buddy of yours who you know can't quite clear bugs quickly enough and just keeps running from an ever growing blob. You pull this beauty out... and roll a D20 to either whiff entirely (that proxy trigger shortening really limits effective angles, addition of a manual trigger would really help it out) or clear the whole 40+ mob, even commanders, in a single glorious spread. _Almost_ makes me feel like I'm back home, on mother Earth, saving it from any alien attack.

    Without a stun grenade I find the auto cannon and AMR to be pretty difficult to use against hulks. I generally have 70%+ accuracy but can only consistently take them out when they are stationary or facing away from me, due to their bobbing movement and the autocannon crosshair lag. I find it’s easier to get the laser on target on hulks, factory striders and gunships.

      Yeah, that is why my secondary is the laser pistol (especially after they confirmed almost all weapons suffer from the crosshair bug where bullets, etc, land lower than the middle even if 1 meter away), it allows me to actually see what/if I am hitting. Though try the AC?AMR on the Hulk legs, they will start limping making them much less of a threat/easier to hit - but I usually keep them alive beacuse there's a spawn limit of each enemy (so if Hulks are limping on the other side of the map they won't respawn).

      If you don’t have stuns then you can easily target their limbs and kill them that way. It takes a couple of shots to destroy a limb and I think if you remove their legs they just die. AT launchers take 2 shots to the body to kill hulks if you miss their eye. I think the Auto-cannon takes 3-4 shots to destroy a limb but I could be wrong because that’s not my usual method for killing then since I run stuns all the time.

    AC-8 Autocannon is my jam. Loved the Grenade Launcher too, but once I hit 15, the Autocannon is my main on Bug worlds. Throw an EAT in there too for slapping Titans and Chargers, and then 500kg + Orbital airburst for some flexibility, and we're jamming.

    Lately I like using the Recoilless Rifle, but the reload time is tough when playing with randoms…so the last couple days I’ve been bringing that AND EAT’s as well, and it’s been working pretty well I’d say. I love being the anti-armor guy.

    I've been enjoying the autocannon vs bots, and carry a recoilless rifle for bugs to use against chargers/bile titans. So long as it's not a long pitched fight with constant enemy reinforcements, I usually have enough ammo to take them down.

    I think the airbust is fine, you just need a build that gives you some antiarmor and i feel that it should have a 2-stage reload like the recoiless

      It is hard to balance weapons to work the same for both factions. That's why we need 2 different weapon upgrades/perk trees. For example, the AMR on the Automaton tree can be upgraded to have more rounds per mag (this perk can only be applied during Automaton missions). However, in the Bug Tree, it can be upgraded to have Heavy armor piercing at the cost of fewer rounds per mag. (this perk only applies during bug missions).

      @@Planterobeets Honestly just giving it heavy armour pierce would be plenty on both factions.
      You still need to be a good shot to make use of its ammo effectively but it’s able to take down anything.
      AMR is my go to for all missions and my Sudo primary, focus on the medium sized bugs and let my squad handle the chaff.

      It's ok for a weapon to be only good against one faction. In fact, it's desirable.
      Otherwise we just get a whole lot of weapons nobody uses ever. (Helldivers 1 actually had wonderful weapon diversity. Every weapon minus the break-action shotgun served a purpose, and the break-action shotgun was there for the challenge missions.)

    Feel like laser cannon should be up in utility/squads slot for bugs. Infinite ammo is even more useful after the ammo nerfs. It can destroy side objectives like spore, shrieker nest, broadcast, research center and also has a range of at least 200m. That means you can take out shrieker nest beyond their spawn radius like the auto/missile supports. It's also really good for shooting down shriekers if you have bad aim like me.

    EATs actually quite good against bugs. Just throw in whenever you can and use it to kill charger fast. Even your just reinforced teammates can just pick it up while waiting for their support weapon cooldown

    10:54 Addendum to the spear on bot missions, bring this when doing blitz, cannon destroy or dropship destroy missions it is so good for those mission it great since your destroy "bot bases" it makes quick work on those mission
    also my personal load out on those missions is spear, laser, He barrage 150mm i think & montar normal or ems .
    trust me bro makes those missions a cake walk

    I usually run the spear for the defend rocket missions. It heat when it can one tap a bile titan. I also ran a mission that was charger heavy with the recoilless. I probably ended up with +30 charger kills by the end. Lol

    I noticed you said dont have a reticule when hip firing. There is actually a way to turn it on so reticule is always visible. Its in hud settings. Very nice to have on if you dont mind losing a bit of emersion.

    EATs for the bot protect missions are elite. You and a squadmate can just stockpile them in between drops and the entire squad can down every single drop ship if played right.

    For the Railgun on bots I feel like it was a little unfairly ranked. Yeah it struggles with gunships but if the 3 other people on your team are running something that does deal with them then you don't have much of an issue. Also for factory striders the best way with dealing with them is stragagems anyway but I do see the benefits of having a support weapon that also helps take them down.
    The best mindset to have with the Railgun is that it's the AMR for third person players that shreds devistators, strider scouts and hulks from close range or even far away once you get the hang of it.

    Quasar is definitely underated because you forgot that you can take the laser drone as a backpack strategem and this excels at dealing with the annoying small bug mobs.

      That and in defense mission you can order second Quasar when CD is ready and juggle between two Quasars at that point it is stupid amount of shots in minute specially if you got buddy or two doing same.

    So far what I've found against bots is that autocannon is best, against bugs yeah it's either anti-charger or anti-bile-spewer, and you gotta take some of each because you don't know which you're going to see. I like the grenade launcher for the extra utility at closing bug holes but I hadn't considered the utility of the autocannon at destroying shrieker nests.

    Railgun is more temperamental than you think. It does like 50% damage at 90% charge so you really have to get it to full charge for it to be worth it.

    The EAT being utility is a good take tbh. I'm that guy that just takes eats and finds an extra support weapon. It really is just another stratagem but you get more agency yourself.

    If you aim above dead bodies, objects, etc with arc (kinda like the spear ig) your arcs will hit more consistently. Also it might be placebo but I feel like ADSing sometimes helps the arc single out your target in situations where there’s lots of bushes or bodies around. I haven’t tested this though

      Eravin did test arcs with the blitzer and the arcs shoot targets in a cone, and ads places the cone further from your character, tightening the cone to your target. So yes, it does help slightly with precision with blitzer. I'm not sure about the arc thrower, but based on experience I would say its the same.

    Well this is eyeopening...I recently adapted my bug build to bring the Laser canon for mobs (since it deals with warriors and hive guards whicht he pummeler struggles with (like the brood commander has higher armor etc)) along with the EATs for bile titans and chargers, using both of them for objectives like Shrieker nests and Spore Spewers. And here I discover it's subpar...

    About the recoilless v Quasar, something worth remembering is range, more specifically that the quasar shoots dead flat, where recoilless has a strong arc if you're far away. Not really something that sets them too apart, but depending on the player that can be an important difference, especially where utility is concerned

      if a shrieker nest is 300 meters away for example, shoot a decent bit above it. I believe you can notice the drop at about 100m+, but its veyr slightly above at that range, up to 150-200 its a little above, 300 is where you gotta aim a decent amount above. utility wise you just need to know the drop distance, personally i dont like the wind up of quasar, which is why i still liked recoilless before the nerf.
      i am biased on this subject. which is why i stress tested quasar in the robot defense, and it performed fine at the end of the day. so it goes in the anti tank slot. against bugs same, it definitely felt bad waiting 15 seconds when we faced 3 titans lol, but we lived and won the match.

    Against bugs I have gotten so proficient at killing titans with 500kg, my team usually kites them to me now.
    If we are split up, they use ORC and quasars.
    Against Automatons, eagles are better in general.
    Why i don't use AT weapons is because i run my mob-control loadout usually (T: inc, grenade pistol, stun, flamer/ A: sickle, GP, stun, AMR)

    quasar against bots is perfectly fine in longer missions. the defense mission is quite different from most other missions in the density of enemies to deal with.

    In defence of Stalwart: (we're talking bugs here, this is definitely not the gun to use against bots)
    Turning the Fun Switch to the max, this gun becomes best crowd clearing weapon in the game; flamethrower does compete on close range, but even there it has issues, most notable of which is friendly fire/self-damage, due to hunters just not giving a damn shit about your anti-bug spray and jumping onto you anyway. At maximum fire rate it is possible to get few bile spewers down before they can start doing damage; even if they get close, you can jump away without damage of becoming a toast (looking at you, flamer). Also, usually you have teammates, and usually at least one of them has a gun that can help with spewers (if not, it's not stalwart's issue, it's issue of team composition). Also (this is probably fixed, i have not looked through patchnotes yet) in older versions acid would count as ignitable surface as well, making flamer the worst weapon against spewers as you were guaranteed to ignite yourself.
    Pair Stalwart with something like incendiary grenade or napalm airstrike and you can keep bug corpses piling up on bug breach for better half of it's uptime.
    Turn the Fun Switch to the minimum and you have a good run-and-gun (more like walk-and-gun, since divers can't run and shoot) weapon with decent accuracy, essentially having Stalwart act as a primary.
    tl;dr: stalwart is petty much more safe version of flamer with no damage on chargers' legs (you are gonna use stun grenade on them anyway so might as well just shoot the ass with bullets instead of burning legs)

    I think the MG's against bugs got somewhat under rated, mostly as bringing one of them in a 4 man team is still pretty good as the man danger in the game is the combination of heavy and light targets making it a lot easier to deal with the heavy targets when someone else got a strong mob clearing weapon.

    FYI the Stalwart is pretty good at suppressing bots simply due to fire volume and magazine size which is basically the exact thing you are supposed to use an LMG for. Not gonna kill a lot but does stop them from advancing through a pinch point if you can catch some bigger guys behind smaller guys. If you listen to the devs talk about their real world military experience they really did put guns into their real world roles in-game.

    Laser cannon appreciation comment:
    I'm happy to be in the minority here, but I genuinely feel that the laser cannon with a shield pack is a better anti-bot weapon system than either the AMR or autocannon (although I enjoy and use both of those). Particularly when paried with the Sickle, you can just swap when either weapon gets hot and basically never stop shooting all while having a way to kill the entire bot roster. This also might be a personal preference thing but I find the face-plate Hulk kill (with or without stuns) to be easier with the laser than than it is with AC/AMR, and I also find it to be far and away the most user friendly anti gunship weapon. Just one LC in the team can completely trivialize a gunship swarm that might otherwise be a round ender.
    While I won't pretend like it's the 'best' choice against bugs, it also isn't as bad as people think it is. Particuarly paired with a guard dog, those twin laser beams can put in a lot of work on everything Brood Commander size and smaller. The trick is you have to cover it's weaknesses: which means you pretty much HAVE to bing EATs to help with Chargers/Titans, and you need to pair it with a high stagger primary (Blitzer/Pummler) for when things get too up in your face. Blitzer in particular is pretty fun in that you never have to reload and the two weapons mutually cover each other's weakenesses. It's definitely not the sweaty/meta option, but it's plenty viable and it gives me happy brain chemicals.

    i really think the laser cannon is viable for bugs, definitely not solo but as part of a squad its great. fast kill on hive guards and bile spewers coz it can shoot through their head armour, and it even has a fast kill on chargers now. breaker incendiary for all the little bugs and jump pack for mobility

    The airburst can kill chargers if you aim right under their head with it. It'll kill them. The clusters will be tighter and will damage the back end of the charger.

    I use my quasar with the EATs with eagle air strike and orbital air burst on bugs. Might switch to recoiless but I like passing EATs to friends. Gives me 3 shots most of the time unless surrounded but that’s where my primary comes in to easily get back most of the time. I use the incendiary shotgun with grenade pistol and incendiary grenades

      @@nukedispenser349 decent but not as good as other grenades. I run them bc it can do DoT on them and kill others around so I can focus fire on bigger enemies like them. I use this strategy bc I don’t run a laser guard dog and never will. The AoE is decent and last a good while on the ground too. It was better before they nerfed how long DoT will tick for but hey what else is new. It also pairs well with my fire shotgun I run as well. Impact and other grandes will instant kill them but I find there’s way too many on the map to have grenades for only a couple of enemy types. Fire is excellent all around on bugs.

    I usually don't run higher level than 7 and I seldom play with more than a single friend and are therefore stuck with randoms. That means I usually need a setup that I know I can deal with everything on my own even if my team mates end up getting sidetracked into fighting for some random hill in the middle of nowhere.
    That's why for me the Quasar is the go to support weapon for me. It doesn't run out of ammo, I don't need to wait for hellpods to drop in while I got 15 hunters chasing me. It's just so damn reliable.
    Different situations favours different setups. Being self sufficient sure is rated a lot higher when you cannot for sure say that your fellow helldivers will have your back or even stay connected.
    Just thought I'd share my perspective :)

    The Air Burst was amazing, until it was secretly nerfed. It would wipe everything off the map that wasn’t a charger. It was strong enough to wound a charger really good. I noticed that they made the detonation extremely sensitive. Nonetheless, I still take it out for large groups.

    Airburst Rocket Launcher is such a fun weapon to use. But it definitely needs a bit more to see more play, otherwise it's far too slow and has situational uses.
