LOL, yeah, trolls and unhappy people that don't like it when others have a good time. We let them be unhappy and whiny, you and I the vast majority of modelers will keep having FUN!
I like Casey’s comment it would be awesome to have a look at your collection of your built models if that’s possible. The old school NASCAR vehicles are one of my favorites plus the Big Riggs. 👍
Thats a great looking kit, nice job and the colors are bang on with the Petty cars. Really love when you do stock cars of any type and the NASCARS are best. Thanks for building and sharing this. Take good care and be well.
Another near perfect build from you Chris. I wished one of these companies would release a stock 1981-1987 Pontiac Grand Prix model kit. It's the one G-Body that seems to always be left out.
I agree the grand prix has always been the bastard child of the G body line up I like the way they look Pontiac always had a spotty style and spirit with their cars
Excellent awesome superb outstanding superb amazing incredible job you did with that beautiful model. The paint. Colors are great the decals are spot on it’s a pity that they didn’t send you any tire decals with the model but it is still remarkable and as always keep up your great work stay safe.
Thanks! 👍 i'm not too worried about perfect colors obviously but I do like how those Tamiya colors look a lot like the car did on the TV and photos back then.
Hey dude nice build as always BUUUT you keep putting the air filters backwards, on nascars they cover the front of the air filter element so it doesn't draw hot air from the radiator , it forces the engine to only draw in cool low pressure air from the cowl area. I noticed you did it on others too
Another EXCELLENT job on this build!!.. I hope you can locate more kits of Richard Petty's kits from his cars he races over the years.. Keep up the great work Bud!!
Another amazing build, the masking was perfect. The decals lined up right on the money. That little bit of flash is absolutely no big deal. Again excellent build Chris. Have a great week and looking forward to the next build 👍👍
Great model, well finished. I don't know too much about vintage racers as they weren't popular here in England at the time, but they always look lean and mean. Great vid, thanks for sharing.
Beautiful as usual. Question, do you keep these models when you complete them or do you sell them? Just curious because if you keep them you should do a video showing your collection.
@randsterama Wow, You having a bad fella? If you must know I don't ever look at the comments so I wouldn't know how many times this question has been "asked AND ANSWERED". Now, if you're going to be an asshole that's fine, but take it elsewhere.
Nah, I would feel dishonest to sell kits I got for free. Many get given away to people that like the subject. Lots get stored. Some get displayed for a bit at home until I store them later.
Great build as always. Something I tried with masking. If your decal instructions are full size make copies and cut them on the mask line Had decent success 👍
I’m old enough to remember when NASCAR models used to be popular, and Testors actually had a ‘Racing Colors’ spray can line keyed to the car numbers. It included Petty Blue and Red, among many others...days long gone by, back in the ‘90s...
These quick builds are great, and really show off the kits, showing that almost anyone can build a lovely model. ….@hpiguys Workshop - would love to see you do a slow detailed build!
Been waiting for this to come out! I've been wanting to get a couple of them. One built as a stock car of course, but also one built as an actual street vehicle. Could easily use Revell's MCSS or Olds FE-3X kits as donors and scribe door panels in the body. Gotta do something about the braces and rivets on the stock car windows, but hey, it's a plan.
I love watching you build every models here. My curious once you build it. Where you display your model at? I’m sure you have tons model kit display. Wish can show to us one day. Keep up the great model kit builder.
hpiguys Workshop given away?😳. I like That Richard petty model your did recently. Well thanks for reply awesome keep on posting more video looking forward to it.
Great job. Finished mine last week. While it was fun, this was the most frustrating kit as mine did not have a rear bumper. Additionally the hood had to be shaped and molded correctly.
Great build! How do you get your nascars to sit that low? I like how each of your cars low stance when you show the final build at the end of your videos.Mine that I finished sits a little higher and the wheels stick out a bit more.
Nice job as always.....just and idea build a nascar like it has just finished a race maybe not bent all up just dirty with rubber and oil and dust from the track...thanks really enjoy your builds
Got back in to Model Cars after 25 years. Been looking for a Tim Richmond Aerocoupe Folgers. Nothing solid yet but Modelroundup with get paid if the Monte Carlo Aeros get released.
Chris -- you make mention of attaching the hood pins with "modge podge" -- can you tell us why you prefer this as the adhesive rather than something like CA, 5-min epoxy, or Microscale Kristal Klear ?? Thanks ! I love your videos !!!!!
RB Model Works, he doesn’t need to, he gets all the inside info from me, and all his kits from one of our great dealers! I can’t tell you how many builders I have talked to who have come back to modeling because of Chris’s videos! great video as usual my friend!
Great job on this iconic car! The Regal is still my fave 80s Petty car! I read once the only reason they made the aero coupes/bubble back versions was so they could be used by NASCAR. Do you know if there is any truth to this? Between the Pontiac and Chevrolet versions, I would have to pick the Monte Carlo though, just sayin'. ;-)
Yup, everyone does. You'll want to coat clear parts with Future floor polish before using super glue and use VERY LITTLE. For other parts, just use a teeny drop and if it fogs, brush Future over it once dry.
The Petty cars are all iconic, I haven't seen a paint scheme that has lasted for soo long because it looks soo good. Amazing build
Couldn't agree more!
It is always a great pleasure to watch your Videos. I learn so much. Thank you!
So nice of you!
I cannot understand why anyone would “thumbs down” this review. Excellent kit overview and building tips as usual!!!
Noted!
I second that ☝️☝️
Another of my childhood Idol Richard Petty's cars... 😎!!
Love all the models this one is great like that you message back makes you feel appreciated thanks for your time.
Glad you like them!
Thats a great looking kit, nice job and the colors are bang on with the Petty cars. Really love when you do stock cars of any type and the NASCARS are best. Thanks for building and sharing this. Take good care and be well.
Thanks for watching!
I've waited since 1986 for this one. Thanks for another cool build.

Thank you! Cheers!
Another near perfect build from you Chris. I wished one of these companies would release a stock 1981-1987 Pontiac Grand Prix model kit. It's the one G-Body that seems to always be left out.
Thanks for coming along!
I agree the grand prix has always been the bastard child of the G body line up I like the way they look Pontiac always had a spotty style and spirit with their cars
Anther thing is that since the late 70s and though the 80s the GP has always been a slow seller among the other 3 G bodies from the bunch
excellent job as usuall wish I could build as fast as you
Thank you very much!
You nail it again Chris another great build 👍
Glad you like it!
Wow man you are pumping them out and they consistently come out great! Great car! Cheers!
Glad you like them!
Love that Car!
Great build hpi.
Right on!
Excellent awesome superb outstanding superb amazing incredible job you did with that beautiful model. The paint. Colors are great the decals are spot on it’s a pity that they didn’t send you any tire decals with the model but it is still remarkable and as always keep up your great work stay safe.

Nicely detailed parts with this kit...
Hello! Love your models!
Glad you like them!
"Scale colour" is very important but few people understand the concept. You do, it looks perfect. 👍
Thanks! 👍
i'm not too worried about perfect colors obviously but I do like how those Tamiya colors look a lot like the car did on the TV and photos back then.
Looks great. Love the Nascar builds.
Glad you like them! I'll never stop making stock cars!
Random question but maybe you would have more knowledge..do you.know where I could order one of the Nascar truck series kits?
Looks Great Chris Off to the track we go!
With all the NASCAR kits you have completed ..... you could create quite a unique race day display......
Yes, it could be! Thanks man!
Hey dude nice build as always BUUUT you keep putting the air filters backwards, on nascars they cover the front of the air filter element so it doesn't draw hot air from the radiator , it forces the engine to only draw in cool low pressure air from the cowl area. I noticed you did it on others too
It's as simple as turning it around. It's not glued down.
@@hpiguy well... easy :P
Sure do like when you do the Petty car. Thanks
More to come!
Another great build ..love when you hand paint stuff like the motor and stuff in the video
Thank you! Cheers!
I ordered this kit because of this video!
Enjoy!
Awesome
Thanks for watching!
Another great build Chris
Glad you like it!
Another EXCELLENT job on this build!!.. I hope you can locate more kits of Richard Petty's kits from his cars he races over the years.. Keep up the great work Bud!!

The more the merrier!!
Pretty sweet Chris love the video. Keep It Coming
More to come!
Another amazing build, the masking was perfect. The decals lined up right on the money. That little bit of flash is absolutely no big deal. Again excellent build Chris. Have a great week and looking forward to the next build 👍👍
Thanks a ton!
Nice shiny paint job!!.. In Petty Blue and Red!!
Thanks 👍
Excellent work as always Chris, you do a great job on these old stockers.
Thanks a lot Gary, I just love these stock cars!
Boogity, Boogity, Boogity, lets go racing boys!!!
Thanks for watching!
Looks great, and realistic and im a petty fan, thanks
You and me both!
I have two on order!
Sweet!
Great build - Aerocoupe AND Space launch on the SAME DAY !!! (air, space?)
Thanks man, that was a cool launch!

Nice build. Thanks
No problem 👍
That looks amazing 😍

I remember those cans and ads!
Thank you.Just can't get to my hobby shop closed in San Diego.
Modelroundup is happy to ship to you!
Man HPI Guy, Fantastic!
Thanks for watching!
These quick builds are great, and really show off the kits, showing that almost anyone can build a lovely model.
….@hpiguys Workshop - would love to see you do a slow detailed build!
Glad you like them! With two kits per week plus other videos a slow detailed build isn't in the wheelhouse any time soon, but thanks!
Been waiting for this to come out! I've been wanting to get a couple of them. One built as a stock car of course, but also one built as an actual street vehicle. Great job. Finished mine last week. While it was fun, this was the most frustrating kit as mine did not have a rear bumper. Additionally the hood had to be shaped and molded correctly.
Weird, I've yet to have issues like that from Salvinos. And I get regular shelf copies sent to me, nothing in advance.
Great build! How do you get your nascars to sit that low? I like how each of your cars low stance when you show the final build at the end of your videos.Mine that I finished sits a little higher and the wheels stick out a bit more.
Nice build. Loved your painting tips.
Live nude stock car. Lmao.
Thanks for watching!
I Want This Car In 1/64 Scale. It Sucks That It Was Never Produced In That Scale 😞
Nice job as always.....just and idea build a nascar like it has just finished a race maybe not bent all up just dirty with rubber and oil and dust from the track...thanks really enjoy your builds
Thanks for coming along!
Great job on the build
Do you clear coat your nascar models
Yes I do! I talk about it in the video. Thanks!
I like when Pontiac Grand Prix made aerocoupe with Monte Carlo ss
I like the petty nascar build but its ashame that they never did a street version of the GP 2+2
great looking rep[lica
Thanks for coming along!
Great!
Thanks for the nice words!
Got back in to Model Cars after 25 years. Been looking for a Tim Richmond Aerocoupe Folgers. Nothing solid yet but Modelroundup with get paid if the Monte Carlo Aeros get released.
In speaking to them they plan on issuing that very kit. If I understood them when they said so.
Every car ive seen in photo's and magazines from back before i was even born the cage and interior was blue.
Thanks!
I wanna get this and do a stock aerocoupe using the monte carlo ss kit
Cool!
the water cooler was white top and orange bottom half.
They are putting out Vermilion red decals for these cars.
I would Love To See This Car Made By Lionel And Be A Part Of The NASCAR Classics Line Both In 1/64 And 1/24 Scale Of This Car 🙂
Do you scrape off the paint at contact surfaces before you use super glue?
Nope, works fine for me.
Chris -- you make mention of attaching the hood pins with "modge podge" -- can you tell us why you prefer this as the adhesive rather than something like CA, 5-min epoxy, or Microscale Kristal Klear ?? Thanks ! I love your videos !!!!!
Doesn't fog, cleans up easily, dries crystal clear, super cheap and easy to find.
Great build as usual. You think about joining the Salvino builders club? If you do tell em Robert sent you.
RB Model Works, he doesn’t need to, he gets all the inside info from me, and all his kits from one of our great dealers! I can’t tell you how many builders I have talked to who have come back to modeling because of Chris’s videos! great video as usual my friend!
Jim Rogers ok. Never mind.........
Thanks Robert! I'm not in the club but I do follow all the updates at their FB page and videos.
Thanks Jim, always nice to talk to you!
Why no primer on the Petty body ?
Looked on salvino site can't find the paint masks
Thanks for watching!
Like I mention in the video you'll have to email their customer service dept to get the masks emailed to you.
Great job on this iconic car! The Regal is still my fave 80s Petty car! I read once the only reason they made the aero coupes/bubble back versions was so they could be used by NASCAR. Do you know if there is any truth to this? Between the Pontiac and Chevrolet versions, I would have to pick the Monte Carlo though, just sayin'. ;-)
Seems reasonable, hence the low production numbers.
Same as the Superbird and Daytona Chargers back in the day.
I like the 2+2 GP they only made about 1,100 or 1,200 in 1986
Do you clear coat after you put the water slides on?
As stated in the video, I brush Future on the entire model after the decals are dry. Thanks!
Where do you buy Ironlak spray paint?
Got mine at Hobby Lobby
how do you display all your models
Most get stored in tupperware. Some get placed on display for a little bit, many are given to friends.
Oh I wish this model on my hand😭 from Indonesia 🇮🇩
Modelroundup will ship anywhere in the world!
What glue do you use to build the car after you painted it first?
Super glue.
@@hpiguy Did you paint the inside of the car body?
Where do you buy "Washi tape" from ??? Thanks !!
Google will let you know where to buy it locally, usually at craft stores.
Wonder if they do any Earnhardt cars...
They have said they sure want to! Depends on licenses, etc of course.
What do you use to seal the tire decals?
Nothing. Those I leave along. No issues after all these years.
@@hpiguy Thanks. Everything I tried made them sticky
Супер!
Does anyone else have a problem with their models fogging up where you put the super glue? I need help with this!!
Yup, everyone does.
You'll want to coat clear parts with Future floor polish before using super glue and use VERY LITTLE.
For other parts, just use a teeny drop and if it fogs, brush Future over it once dry.
@@hpiguy thank you so much!! I'll definitely try that!
👍👍👍
Thanks!
And... sorry.. why do you prefer "Washi tape" over something like Tamiya masking tape ? Thanks !
Cheaper and works as well.
Its another 2+2 out now, im thinking its Rusty Wallace.
Correct.
hpiguys workshop now do his plymouth superbird
Awesome
Thanks for watching!
