After learning this, go and listen the _first 70 seconds_ of *"TrueFire live: Frank Vignola - Inversion Excursion"* (starting at 0.24, 😁after a little problem with some unwanted playback!): you'll find a quick and *alternative version* in same C^ tonality, with chord melody soloing and substitutions at the bridge (and a *classic blues/jazz* closing lick!). So nice, as usual. Thank you Frank!!!
Ive been working on this CM for a while, and as Frank says, that bridge is pretty tough. Ive done,as he says and simplified the chords a bit and after many hours of practice have the tune sounding pretty good. Franks lessons and his Jazz Studio on Truefire are excellent .

I've been trying to learn this piece for a while now //.. because of serious hand damage, I am only able to play with a pick. This was a superb lesson.....Thanks !! You have a marvellous, calm teaching style. I've seen many other 'jazz' lessons by other 'jazzers' on You Tube.....and most of them spend most of the time, trying to impress you with their vast knowledge of theory. And then also proceed to 'rip' through the song at a pace where most of us 'mere mortals' tend to become totally lost and frustrated. As I said before->SUPERB
Love this version... especially since I learned this in a similar arrangement decades ago and in glad I wasn't playing it wrong all these years. But more importantly I'm learning some extra chords to throw in!
Thank you for posting. I have not been able to find a video which demonstrates how to play the Ink Spots version of don't get around much anymore, which includes the opening verse of the song. For some reason it is always omitted. Can you demonstrate that portion of the song. "when I'm not playing, Solitare, take a book down from the shelf.......?
Seeing that this video is about four years old, I doubt that Frank will see your question. You might try to reach him directly. Thanks for watching and for your input! Please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe to our channel.
They play snippets of this song in Tim Minchim's TV Series Upright (8,6 rating on IMDB !!!) and I really wanted to learn how to play it on Guitar. I found some other lessons for finger style, however I play with a pick. Not the easiest song to learn (for me anyway), but after some practice I'm getting there. Fantastic lesson which felt tailor made for me.
