Really love this, every time I hear it I feel pain and happiness such a great interpretation well done josh
Awesome performance Josh, pristine. It seems that you polished every detail with great care, everything sounds good. The Doppio sounds very beautiful and clear. I love this piece and this performance is one of the best I've ever heard. Congratulations.
Best I have heard! Not too fast, not too slow, refined dynamics, spot on rubato. Well done Josh.
Yes but i'm not sure if this is really what chopin wants. Remember he wrote doppio movimento at the end
@@jt3712 I think he wanted the piece to sound great and all the sections had musical continuity
He played the doppio movimento too slow.
I love the clarity of the Doppio; lovely ebbing and flowing of rubato with intensity at the right moments. I have heard so many rushed performances and this recording is a great reminder of how Chopin should sound today.
This is the most beautiful interpretation of Chopin's Nocturne in c minor I ever heard. Perfection !
JuanDiego1965 Thank you so much for your kindness
You transported me, my favorite interpretation on UA-cam ! Thank you ☺️
So wonderful, thank you Josh! ❤️
Captivating and magical. You're amazing.
I'm so happy to have discovered your channel. Marvellous playing!
Melody is really clear in the doppio movimento section, loved it!❣️
Very nice performance. It surely makes one pay attention to your online classes, that are much appreciated. Thanks Josh.
Sublime, just sublime
Lovely interpretation.
Sublime! So beautiful!
Tears your heart out!
Marvelous interpretation, as usual. :)
thank you so much. i really wanted to check the pedal skill especially una corda in this music. thank you.
Great performance !
I love this!
From 1:17 to 1:44. I haven’t heard the dynamics played that way before. Forte at the beginning of the reprise and down softer when you get to the grace note. The forte is usually at the grace not on the recordings I’ve heard. That was so so so good. So good lol I’m stealing that for sure.
at 5:15 you missed the pianissimo in the score. It's a sudden softening of the sound, which gradually increases volume.
4:29-5:46 I’ve never heard someone play the melody so clear. Masterful.
Listen to Cho, he plays it even clearer
what a amazing performance, sublime, perfection. im a self taught pianist ive got my self to a pretty high technical level but im really lacking on basic things like metronome use and reading sheet music. ive cut corners over the past 3 years i was wondering if you do video lessons as i need help with advancing myself even further. again great performance.
Amazing. I like this better than Rubenstein's interpretation! The B section melody and arpeggiated chords are so beautiful that it's nice to actually be able to HEAR them. IMO Rubenstein played it so quietly that it was hard to hear all the beauty of that section.
soxnation1000 ehh I would say the recording wasnt as sensitive back then so that's why joshes comes out better...
soxnation1000 no for me
GOD DAMMIT your interpretation of Chopin is absolute perfection. You should compete in the International Chopin Competition. Love this and the first Ballade. Keep bringing us beautiful music. 17 years old and player/lover of Chopin. Hoping to play the first ballade in my senior recital, will definitely be using some of your style to my rendition when I play it. :) much love man
dcbsdm Thank you for the nice comments. Good luck in your upcoming recital!
Good luck!!!
Wow! ❤️🎶🎹
Wow, excelen!
I can play the first four pages :)
its been 3 days I'm practicing it..
this piece is killing me!!!
But the entire piece is 4 pages
7 pages
Don’t give up Nima! I applaud you for taking this piece on.. it’s been 11 months and would love to hear your video playing it:).
My teacher always taught me to start with the last page. Never really explained y.
@@lvbdevinelove2329 the purpose is to make the whole piece great. It is common in piano practice that you study more the beginning rather than the other sections. As a consequence, the first part sounds great and greatness starts to fade before you reach the end. Doing it backwards will help you prevent this situation
Thanks! It's terrific!!!
Great performance ❤️❤️❤️I’m just wondering when you play those arpeggios after 2:35 do you play the bottom note of the chord on beat or the melody note on beat if you know what I mean 😪
Sounds like he played the melody note on the beat. It's more like the Romantic way, I believe.
His playing of Op.48 No.1 reminds me of the perfomance of Chopin 1st prize winner Seong Jin Cho.
Cho is playing definitely clearer
4:27
I have no idea how the score is marked for temp or even if it is. ..but I do absolutely love Josh's interpretation .where I can hear each note and each smooth arpeggio....some interpretations I hear today I cannot even make out the notes which completely spoils the mood of the piece..
You can pause any part of this video and it looks like a painting. The thumbnail looked particularly like one.
I´m studying this right now. It´s very hard. I´m struggling so hard. 😭 I will need some months of hard study to learn it.
Wonderful! Mechanically how difficult is this piece? Is it one of his hardest nocturnes?
Satie TheTutor Yes it is the most difficult nocturne!
@@tayfunmusic2108 I don't know if this one is the hardest, but I heard that op. 37 no. 2 is harder to learn because of its tricky fingerings. This one is still imo one of the hardest
needs to be more intimate, missing a sense of frantic urgency and craze, a loss of control, kind of like the scene from schindler's list. good playing though
You don’t really need the craze. A lot of really good performers don’t go crazy while playing this piece. Rubinstein does but not everybody
In Chopin's music that sense of frantic urgency is always implied, it's like you almost want to explode, but you don't. As if you're almost out of breath. Very contained. I liked this interpretation, not as much as Rubinstein's but still. Most people rush the ending.
Generally, i'm not a huge fan of your playing. This however, is fantastic.
Change your tempo Sir Not necessarily Lento, but somehow a little bit livelySorry for my bad English
with feeling like women
too slow
