So glad youre back!! i finally got my own tufting gun about a month ago and all because your videos inspired me. ive started making pokemon rugs and other nerd culture designs and im having a lot of fun with it!!! Backing the rugs is still a little scuffed (lol) but i finally found a creative outlet that i have a lot of fun doing and its because of you! keep making videos, theyre always so helpful and fun to watch
I just found your channel and I’m so glad I did. How amazing are you? Most of us keep something like this as a hobby but you’ve really taken it to the next step. Good on you. Bravo, they’re beautiful 🇦🇺❤️
I love the process. They are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your talents. I came across you on UA-cam and I can't stop watching. I would Love to be able to do that. I had never heard of tufting before..it's exciting to watch.
Great work. Love the channel. Any tips on getting and keeping the fabric as tight as possible? Specifically in the middle? As of now it’s difficult to keep the proper tension
Hey, love all your content. I just used the AAT 1132 without a mesh backing and it’s much less stiff that way. I think the mesh adds a lot of structure that makes the glue way harder. Just FYI :)
Your content is very calming, I watched a lot of your videos so far since I am planning to start my tufting journey and I really enjoy it. Thank you :) Hope you enjoy it making videos as well. :)
Your work is so amazing! Do you mind me asking where or how you got/made your stand that holds it up for you while you are using the turfing gun or projector? Amazon’s look so small.
Just wanted to say congratulations! You're definitely an inspiration to me.👍 I'm looking at finding myself, doing something creative and starting my own business. Very early stages. In the design process, mock up etc so I'm still working at my day job. 💔
So I'm a total rug making/tufting newbie, but how doable is it to mix adhesives together to get a more custom finish? You were talking about how one leaves the rug stiff but durable, where the other leaves it more malleable. Is It possible to mix the two together to land somewhere in the middle, and would that be more desirable than either of the two extremes? These both turned out fantastic, btw, and you're really inspiring me to give this a try soon!
Hi Kelsey 😊 one time, I used the AAT glue in the center of my rug (the stuff one) and Robert’s 3095 around the outside so that I could fold the edges over easier. It worked well! But I wouldn’t feel comfortable actually mixing the two together like you would with paint for example… I’m no chemist lol but these adhesives are no joke. I would personally fear some kind of weird chemical reaction but maybe that’s just me being extra careful 😅
This is amazing AJ and I love learning more about the little details of your process! Regarding a few comments about the similarity of your work to other artists, I don't want to bring negativity into the comment or get sucked into a comment section argument, but I looked up both artists mentioned and I don't think your work could be called a rip off or copy by any stretch of the imagination. I have to admit I was completely ready to agree with the comments if it turned out there were suspicious similarities, but it's normal for artists to have similar references and influence one another. I didn't think your work was overly similar at all and I love the originality of your designs. Don't let it get to you!
Thank you for sharing this, Kate 💓 I was ready to agree if I saw striking similarities too lol! But that hasn’t been the case. I appreciate your insight and your support.
The ouroboros is an ancient symbol that is referenced by many artists. I am in no way claiming to make that up, but everything surrounding it is my original design 😊
hi, how long does it take for the roberts 3095 to dry? how long do u normally wait until u proceed with the next step? thanks for ur content. u r inspiring
When I use Roberts 3095, I always back it with a fabric, so I don’t wait until it’s fully dry. I’ll wait 16-24 hours. I’m not sure it ever fully dries actually… it remains tacky from what I can tell. But I don’t mind because I’ll put a fabric on the back and the tackiness helps it stick more
ciao. sei bravissima e sto cercando di imparare.ho una domanda: usi la colla a caldo per finitura del tappeto, ma se si dovesse lavare o bagnare la colla a caldo terrebbe?
hey AJ! love your work so much and would love to hear about why you chose to switch to Shopify! would also love to know how you package and ship your rug orders :)
I’m curious as to how you dispose of the leftover fabrics and yarns, im currently stashing all my leftover fabrics in a cabinet hoping i’d find more use for them or find companies that could maybe stitch them all together haha
I have a huge bin full of yarn scraps and another full of fabric scraps 😅 I have no idea what I’m gonna do with them 😳 but I just don’t want it to go to waste! Let me know if you come up with anything
I love your videos! I just got my tufting gun in the mail a few days ago and got my frame built and your videos have been so helpful while I’ve been researching while I waited for my gun! I was wondering where you buy the Roberts 007 spray adhesive you use? I looked at Lowe’s recently and they didn’t have it and I also can’t seem to find it online
Thank you!! Congrats 🎉 I get Robert’s 007 at Home Depot. Lowe’s doesn’t carry the Robert’s brand glues unfortunately. And from what I hear, they don’t have options that are comparable in quality to Robert’s (tho I’ve never tried them out myself)
Absolutely love all of your videos. You're so inspiring to me. Can I ask how you edit your videos? I'd love to start a YT but have no idea where to start, and really love your simplistic aesthetic
The frustration of a woven fabric for tufting plus a woven under layer and having to deal with edges makes me wonder, what is the drawback to felt? If you took the rug down before applying the latex, or just after, the first tufting fabric edges could be folded under, and felt over that could be cut without fraying. Are there drawbacks?
Lots of tufters use felt! I find it hard to cut it perfectly so that it has a super clean edge. So I just tend to use twill tape because it looks so clean.
Can you shear a looped rug? Or can you only shear a cut pile rug? I’ve made a large piece using a punch needle and have thought about shearing it but am scared of ruining it!
you can, you would just end up making it look like a cut pile since your shaving the loops off, i have a big rug i did with punch needle i did a smaller project and shaved that instead of ruining my big rug
Hi Actually, I saw your artwork and loved it, so I wanted to learn it. Can you provide me with all the information about this artwork, where to get the Machine , the materials, what I value, and what it's called, i'm from Morocco? Thank you
Hey! im glad you're back! i just love your content so much and you inspire pure vibres, i was just wondering, do the smell of the glue n stuff is dangerous for you dog? im about to star tufting and my dog is always with me so i dont know if its convinient for her to be around, thakkss ajj
Hi! Thanks Luciana 💓 I always keep my dog out of the room when I’m gluing! Window open, door closed, respirator on, no dogs! And I keep the window open, door closed and fan blowing for at least 24 hours before my dog or I spend time in there. And even then, I limit his exposure until there’s no smell
when you taped down the edges my mind was blown! what a great idea
I love that you promote safety!
Hello dear its my first time to watch u but wd like to learn more from u .The pieces are so inspiring
AJ so glad you, are, continuing to inspire and teach your craft
why is this video so calming?

Hi AJ!! I am so happy for you and this new journey as a rug content creator. I love your videos!!
Beautiful rugs! Excellent finishing on both!

Hi, curious if you have ever thought to try a clothing steamer, to make the more rigid glue more ply-able, for the finish work. Beautiful work btw
I’d love your trimmings/shavings to use in my paper making!
Your content is very calming, I watched a lot of your videos so far since I am planning to start my tufting journey and I really enjoy it. Thank you :) Hope you enjoy it making videos as well. :)
Beautiful work as always. Kindly do a video on how you price your rugs. Thanks.
ı just oredered my second tufting gun :) thank you AJ! ı am from Turkey and ı will start this businness :) you are an idol girll
Your work is so amazing!

Love it thanks so much for texting me back and providing so much good advice ! I’m gonna try the tape finishing method instead now
Would you say one would definetly need secondary backing or would felt backing suffice?
have you ever added foam to make like a puffy floor mat type rug? Also I LOVE YOUR RUGS!!!
What a great name for your business!! Are you still making the Ouroboros rug? I would happily support your work by buying one :)

Yesss! I just got those same exact sheers and they are so worth it!! Terrifying to use though. 😂
Seriously! hahah
Where do you get those yarn cones at?
Rug Wool from Tuft the World tuftinggun.com
Love the rugs as always
Thank you! Do you mind clarifying what needle you're referring to exactly?
Hey am from Africa i want this so much work if what fabric do you use
If you trim/sheer a loop cut wrong wouldn’t there no longer be loops? They would just be cut strands?
Have you considered investing in a serger to finish your rugs?
Not yet! But maybe one day :)
Can you shear a looped rug? Or can you only shear a cut pile rug? I’ve made a large piece using a punch needle and have thought about shearing it but am scared of ruining it!
