In the midst of playing FO4 I had pretty much done everything then I found Ox. Many moons ago I still listened and watched all those videos which lead me to watching and listening to all of the other FO lore vids across all the games. I found that it was easier to get all of it because I was not focused on living and surviving all the hazards that plagued the locations. While playing FO76 I have been experimenting reading just what I need to get through things and waiting for the lore vids. Watching/listening as I accomplish things during my day and the lore is oddly enough way more enjoyable by not knowing what was going on for the most part and hearing you reveal that info and not having to fight everything. Seemingly I clear the area do things amongst these dungeons and then enemies spawn in the midst of reading and because of the no more pause made things difficult to digest. Love ya Ox made it so much more enjoyable now that my junk/caps aren’t at stake if I die. Lmao
Oh yeah! Let's just detonate nuclear bombs underground for mining purposes! Nothing could go wrong with doing that! I'm pretty sure we are to assume that AMS's nuclear bomb mining and Ultracite tests is what created the Scorchbeasts and the Scorch Plague.
My cumulative theory is that Arkos Pharmacy's aerosolized fertilizer experiments created the original mutation that created the fungus that is the actual scorched plague, the fungus spread underground and encountered ultracite created by AMS (Ultracite appears to spread like an underground coal fire once it starts a chain reaction, hence the events at Welch and the single bit of ultracite ore that created the scorched overload that killed the firebreather trainees at the burning mine compared to how many were there when Madigan picked the place for the final test), and much like FEV Super Mutants stabilized with exposure to the mass radiation of the Great War the plague needed/symbiotized with the intense radiation of the Ultracite. The plague infected underground creatures that started to mutant when the fungus pushed them into contact with Ultracite like that one fungus that causes ants to drown themselves to spread itself. Enclave took the mutated bats and bred them further into the Scorched Beasts in an attempt to trigger a Defcon 1 situation to allow access to the nuke silos. Part of the Enclave realized that it was insane and turned on each other, breaking MODUS leaving the lab site unsupported and the SBs eventually breaking free and going wild.
Enclave created the scorchbeast by accident when looking into AMS's research, then they contained it, then released them to trick the region's automated DEFCON level
+LowbrowDeluxe One problem with your theory, there's no Ultracite to be found in the Burning Mine. Another thing is that Scorchbeasts are almost literally made of Ultracite, it's even found in their bones. They would have to be doing a lot more than rubbing against the Ultracite for it to be in their bones. Also the Scorched are clearly controlled by the Scorchbeasts, not some fungus. Not even cordyceps fungi makes ants make organized attacks on other ants, that requires something with an actual brain to organize.
@@thewhitewolf5261 There is exactly one node of ultracite in a back corner. It's one of my favorite tiny hints in the game. The audio logs from the lost trainee group even outright ask how the hell Melody and the Firebreathers thought this was a survivable test as they were getting picked off.

It sounds like the attempt at using nukes to mine was the Fallout version of Operation Plowshare. That was a program in the US that tried to do the same thing between 1961 and 1973.

I like how Ultracite is Fallout's name for nuclear glass, a silicate formed when a nuclear detonation heats up sand to the point it turns into glass. Not sure if the real stuff can be used as fuel but it does explain why nuking an area in F76 causes some of the ore deposits to turn into Ultracite deposits.

What if the Mysterious Stranger is...Deacon. Now here me out before you say "But they are standing next to each other," I'll explain that first. Let's remember Lorenzo Cabbot, the man with immortality flowing throughout his body. He got that from an ancient artifact. Now what if that artifact represented something specific, like endurance. As far as I'm able to deduce endurance in the fallout universe is represented by how much blood you have, or something to that effect. And what are we told about Lorenzo? So now we have an infinity war situation on or hands. Because we've been told that there may be another artifact in the Mojave, and who's to say there arnt more artifacts scattered across the world? With all that said we now come to Deacon. A man that has almost just as many questions as the Stranger. Oxhorn had come to the conclusion that Deacon is a ghoul that's had work done. If so than he would be a perfect match for where the Stranger shows up across the US. Deacon even mentions being in the Capital Wasteland, as well as across the US. Deacon's visual age wouldn't matter because he looks no older than 30 in Fallout 4. Which explains the Stranger's lack of age in Fallout 3 and NV. Now the big Question: How can Deacon and the Stranger be the same person if they are both in the same room? There not...remember Infinity War (SPOILERS) When Thanos was using the reality stone. This is going to be very similar to that. What If Deacon found one of those artifacts, and if each of these artifacts are a specific SPECIAL stat, then guess which one Deacon found. Perception, that's how you would think there two different people, because it's based on perception. Deacon even makes that real clear when you travel with him. Deacon tells you he regularly changes his appearance, but maybe it's more dire than that. We know that Lorenzo went insane from his artifact, it's likely that Deacon has his own issues. Like a drug addict needs a fix every 20 minutes, Deacon needs to change his clothes every 20 minutes. Maybe that's why he lies all the time even though he seems like a stand up guy. Maybe that's why he wears sunglasses all the time, like a chicken with red-tinted glasses he keeps them on to not shoot the first thing that bleeds. I say it like that because when the Stranger appears he hits a target that's likely taken damage. Holy S@#$ I just remembered some other things. In Fallout 1 and 2 the Stranger could be a woman. But we've heard that Deacon has been a woman before! And just today as I was walking with him into some rads he says "Great, I didn't want anymore kids anyways." Which would confirm the Lonesome Drifter as the Stranger's son. I been writing for so long that I lost my train. But the only way Deacon isn't the Stranger (in my mind at least) is if lied about everything. Which I don't believe because it's much harder to take a true or false quiz when every answer isnt false. Another episode of "A player already looted this" lol. The manner of how fast resources and scrap get swiped in F76 makes me seriously wonder how it is that there's anything left 200 years later.
DLC I want for fallout 76. 1. Underground dungeons: Mole Miner Kingdom, Overrun Vault Experiment, Clearing out a Scorched Nest, and Super Mutant Fighting Pits. 2. Trade City Hubs you can save after you’ve logged out. Requires material and caps, but as you progress and more people join, the location becomes an actual hub for players to meet and socialize. 3. Pets Quests. They don’t even have to do anything. Just beat a quest and you unlock a creature you can name that follows you around in game. 4. ? 5. Profit!
Disappointed the elevator / tube didn't shake Oxhorn's character around, maybe make him stuck briefly, or have blurry vision for 30 seconds, or vomit - would have fit with the terminal lore.
"Thins place really loves it's cigerrates" - Oxhorn 2019 Forgets there amount of "smoking stations in his settlement in Fallout 4 (also what do you want to eat jimmy....as long as it is carrots)
Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators exist today and cost a fraction of regualr elevators requireing little machinery and decend safely in the event of a power outage..they typicaly are installed in buildings that are 4 stories or less...
How i saw last scene is, soldier did open fire, but was killed by protectron that lies nearby and someone issued command to delete all data from computers to protect their secrets. Maybe government wanted full control of ultracite without being reliant to some corporation.
No windows means only one thing, UNDERGROUND. Anyway - when I explored that complex, there was a Tube that needed a key or was it a terminal? oy such a long time ago I forgot, anyway what I wanna know is has anybuddy found a means to use that other Tube, or is that Tube just an exit from the final level?
So in regards to the Ultracite my guess is... Natural Ultracite=Glowing Green/blue Enriched Ultracite=Glowing Blue. Depleted Ultracite=Dull, dark blue.
“What’s a Yao guai body doing on the floor?” Tbf they don’t make coffins that big, and Yao guai, much like the bears they mutated from, tend not to die in a bed very often. I blame Goldilocks for traumatizing bearkind in general.
I can't help but wonder if Ultracite is the Uranium in the Fallout Universe used to develop Nuclear Weapons. So did AMS aid in the development of the Bombs using Ultracite? Was the Ultracite Weaponized, the reason why the Government and Military would be interested?
I don't think Watoga was having power issues. To me the lights off Veteran's Raffle sounded more like a ultra extreme version of the Earth Hour thing the world did years ago where everyone turned off their lights for an hour on a Saturday in March.
I bet Michael is like one of my friends who can't keep work - he's over 300 lbs, but he is 6'7"! All giant bones, has to crouch through doorways etc. Companies have to order expensive chairs for his build, plus stand/sit desks, hence they really discourage him from even applying :( Their loss, he's brilliant.
Considering what they did to the town and to the environment, a lot or all of them may have taken up smoking just to calm their tense/ stressed nerves and guilt. Smokes in someway is either cheaper or less of a hazard at work if they were drunk from booze.
Apart from the whole "Blowing up a city and leaving a hole in it's place" thing, AMS may actually be THE ONLY morally sound company in the fallout universe.
There needs to be a shirt where someone is specifically stalking you to steal all the valuable Magazines and Bobble Heads before you can get them. It happens way too often.
Hey Oxhorn, I've been wondering if there's any lore on what the large clumps of metal, cement, and debris are on top of various buildings in Watoga. Are they some sort of Scorchbeast nests or something? I thought if anyone might know, you might. You're standing on one at the beginning of the video.
I always assumed they were scorchbeast nests... but I'm also interested in his views and perhaps even some lore or proof of whatever it ends up being xD
Huh. Ultracite seems like Ghost Rock from the Deadlands RPG. Both of them mysterious mineral ores with incredible power-producing properties when burned but also heavily mutagenic. They drive a new mining boom and industrial boom but are ultimately the cause of misery and disaster. The only difference is Ghost Rock is made of evil souls and is itself pretty much pure evil. Then again, this is Fallout. 99% of the time anything scientific is from the Devil himself. It's like a game made by hippies.
This has nothing to do with Fallout, but I saw that in the video "The lament of Captain Placeholder", by CraniusPresents, he lists Oxhorn as one of the people who appeared in the video (their World of Warcraft characters). Are you said Oxhorn by any chance? That would be cool xD.
Hey Oxhorn hope you doing well just got done watching your Zeta dlc lore video and I remember one the aliens capture a vault executive overseeing vault 76 you think they'll bring that up in the game !?
09:32 uhm... they didn't need human dentists in Watoga? meaning that robots (most likely protectrons) were handling human teeth? ... ... ... ... I have some concerns
The depleted ultracite is a dull dark blue. The regular ultracite glows bright green when in nature and bright blue when it is enriched. I think it's supposed to be a fallout chemical similar to uranium, there are many many many different forms of Uranium and even a form known as Uraninite.
So this is only 20 something years after the bombs fell right? I'm surprised yao guai are not just known as bears or "rad bears" since the origin of the name was from American Chinese prison camps, so I get 200 years the yao guai name sticks after their mutation but only 20? Wouldn't you still know what a bear is? It's not like vault dwellers didn't have Teddy bears lol
I'd pretty much guarantee it works differently, as it somehow turns people into immortal ghouls sometimes, instead of irradiated corpses like the rest of us.
its essentially confirmed that Fallout works nothing like the real world, everything is tiny yet there are still the US and earth and all that, the cars run on fusion, and Mini nukes dont murder you in 5 seconds... And AI, and Power Armour, the prydwen... Yes the fallout universe is very much just a perversion of our Universe... and thats why we love it so much

ALSO ALSO ALSO wasnt Prewar america Suffering an energy crisis, so power was still heard to come by regardless?
just my thoughts
@@austinreid3951 You can read ultracite on the barrels next to the staircase leading to the roof of the Poseidon plant (outside)
@@austinreid3951 Also it maybe a Retcon if at AMS they are just testing ultracite but the power plants are already using it as fuel, there is a shipment of ultracite on the rails behind the Poseidon plant.
@@lexus8018 Are you sure it's ultracite? How?
@@idontwanttoputmyname403 because the barrels have the word ultracite on them
Another episode of "A player already looted this" lol. The manner of how fast resources and scrap get swiped in F76 makes me seriously wonder how it is that there's anything left 200 years later.
Hey, a ship can be a lighthouse if you try hard enough.
"That father is going to be surprised by his daughter when she grows up"
Except she probably never grew up, apocalypse and all.
What did he mean by that comment lol
wow Oxhorn I cant believe you are still doing fallout76 lore videos. Gotta admire the dedication.
"Thins place really loves it's cigerrates" - Oxhorn 2019
Forgets there amount of "smoking stations in his settlement in Fallout 4 (also what do you want to eat jimmy....as long as it is carrots)
A video about the cryptids would be nice
Dear god. AMS might be the worst pre-war company in fallout. That or west-tek.
Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators exist today and cost a fraction of regualr elevators requireing little machinery and decend safely in the event of a power outage..they typicaly are installed in buildings that are 4 stories or less...
7:10 "a small pneumatic ca-thunk". I oughta use that line.
A lot if not all prewar culture in the fallout universe is based on America in the 50's. Cigarettes were everywhere!
Many have sought to pierce the shroud
So dang sad to see how all the United States May have recovered so much earlier in the game, if the responders and brotherhood weren’t wiped out
Oxhorn, when’s the next FO2 and FO3 video?
I notice that he does one of each once a week.
Great video and working any where in the fallout univese usually leads to death. Love your lore videos
21:50 "a appendage that is humorous" only to Deadpool. 😆
How i saw last scene is, soldier did open fire, but was killed by protectron that lies nearby and someone issued command to delete all data from computers to protect their secrets.
Maybe government wanted full control of ultracite without being reliant to some corporation.
14:15
Ox, that was a reference to one of the default female hairstyle options in older Fallout games, 3 and New Vegas, I think
Natural Ultracite=Glowing Green/blue
Enriched Ultracite=Glowing Blue.
Depleted Ultracite=Dull, dark blue.
No comment on the corpse with its hand stuck in the press? Seems to be the same tech who was in the middle of writing the fatigue test report.
I like the choice of the name for ultracite, as West Virginia is known for its anthracite coal reserves
22:13 that moment when Oxhorn realises what humorous it might be....
So that's what happened to my neck and mole rat😢
I bet Michael is like one of my friends who can't keep work - he's over 300 lbs, but he is 6'7"! All giant bones, has to crouch through doorways etc. Companies have to order expensive chairs for his build, plus stand/sit desks, hence they really discourage him from even applying :( Their loss, he's brilliant.
The image of a Mr. Handy reading and enjoying comics kills me
Considering what they did to the town and to the environment, a lot or all of them may have taken up smoking just to calm their tense/ stressed nerves and guilt. Smokes in someway is either cheaper or less of a hazard at work if they were drunk from booze.
When I heard the term big boned, I immediately thought of Cheesy Poofs.
Apart from the whole "Blowing up a city and leaving a hole in it's place" thing, AMS may actually be THE ONLY morally sound company in the fallout universe.
How about Garrahan, or Beaver Lanes?
doesn't this mean that jet can be a pre war drug
I love these videos and your commentary, you bring such a wholesome approach to fascinating lore, some of which for games I've never played.
Yes they are scorchbeast nests. We find scorchbeast refuse piles inside them.
@@oxhorn Thanks Oxhorn! I knew you'd have an answer. You're the man! Keep up the good work.
When I first saw the AMS logo I read CAMSC
Also reminds me a little of wyrdstone from Mordheim.
Or eridium from Borderlands 2
Hey Ox, just wondering when you are going to upload a new Fallout 2 video.
Nice to see your ignoring all the backlash and a lot of people defending you ox
Look at the shape of that tube on the top floor at about 34:30! Wouldn't it put the person upside down?
I wish they'd allow this to be played on and offline.
Mayor for a day will be a story for another day? What day will that be since it's not today but another day?
14:20 "When she grows up" Uh, yeah... Abooouuut that.
Hey oxhorn ever thought about a lore video on the whole world of fallout? I mean unique lore for the fifty states, and countries in this universe?
This has nothing to do with Fallout, but I saw that in the video "The lament of Captain Placeholder", by CraniusPresents, he lists Oxhorn as one of the people who appeared in the video (their World of Warcraft characters). Are you said Oxhorn by any chance? That would be cool xD.
He is. Ox used to do wow machinima
Hey Oxhorn hope you doing well just got done watching your Zeta dlc lore video and I remember one the aliens capture a vault executive overseeing vault 76 you think they'll bring that up in the game !?
Wanna play a drinking game?
Take a shot every time Oxhorn says Ultracite.
This comment is about as unoriginal as you can get, but it's all I had lmao
3:00 another funfact, this was also done in the real world.
WHAT?! Tell me more, link me a wikipedia article anything
09:32
uhm... they didn't need human dentists in Watoga?
meaning that robots (most likely protectrons) were handling human teeth?
...
...
...
...
I have some concerns
As you should with that info
It's "Atomic Mining Services," right? But when Ox enters, the automated voice says, Welcome to _Automated_ Mining Services. After-the-fact damage control?
Technically both
I wonder if the power issues in Watoga are related to that Sugar Grove event. They’re deflecting. Lol!
At 22:00 Oxhorn sounded so dissapointed
Another great video thanks mate keep up the great work
I thought ultrasite was green. It looks to be a light blue in this video
The depleted ultracite is a dull dark blue.
The regular ultracite glows bright green when in nature and bright blue when it is enriched.
I think it's supposed to be a fallout chemical similar to uranium, there are many many many different forms of Uranium and even a form known as Uraninite.
And another cieling mounted turret!...... T-shirt XD
Being late home is an indicator that someone is not faithful? Uhu, or did I miss something that indicated it more?
Only a Mr Gutsy?!? I call bull, when I did this I got an Assaultron that basically nuked me on sight
Love your story telling keep it up!
Growth of a second head?
Sigh... maybe radiation works differently in the Fallout universe.
Really, what's the point of mutations if there isn't the possibility of becoming a two-headed thing?
I'd pretty much guarantee it works differently, as it somehow turns people into immortal ghouls sometimes, instead of irradiated corpses like the rest of us.
its essentially confirmed that Fallout works nothing like the real world, everything is tiny yet there are still the US and earth and all that, the cars run on fusion, and Mini nukes dont murder you in 5 seconds...
And AI, and Power Armour, the prydwen...
Yes the fallout universe is very much just a perversion of our Universe... and thats why we love it so much
I wish we have holotapes in our reality. I want our future generations to know our brillance or stupidity during our time.
We have our phones.
@@KK-qm1mr true, but something smaller and cheaper. Like a cassette tape that can be played in our reality version of our pip-boy. If it were to be possible, hehe
We do. It's called MP4's. It's just we don't go around recording our every thought.
Emir Ryan Daclan
Cassettes? MP4? iPod? Apple Watch?
That brain fart though 💨 lol
Big fan of your work ox:) might buy myself a birthday present from your merch :).
36:55 i can't open that door for some reason
You make it look so easy it took me an hour to kill all the robots
I love your videos Oxhorn!
Uh the "ashtrays" in the toilet stalls are toilet roll holders lol
I'm sure you have heard it before. YOU SOUND LIKE TOM HANKS
Tom Hanks has a deeper voice.
Legit all the autominers are is protectrons with drills attached to their hands... Wow, that really is innovation....
