I didn't watch as I genuinely forgot they played today and I'm very happy. But not as happy as I am that Justin Fields was released from this absolute atrocity of a "professional" football team.
I grew up in Illinois and watched half my family root for the Bears. Thankfully neither of my parents did. I chose another team. The Bears haven't won a playoff game since when I was in highschool.
I know right... I am from downstate Illinois and all I remember is bears football as a kid and how bad it was and still is and I don't watch the bears because I know how that story is going to go each and every week and my father has been gone for three years now and he stopped rooting for the bears long before he passed away and I believe he knew a loser when he saw one and the bears are losers from the top down plain and simple and this won't be a easy rebuild
Thankfully for me, I live in the UK and was in bed while it went on, but the sad thing is that I will have witnessed their last victory at Spurs stadium back in October...it's simply mindblowing to me.
I didn't watch, I went to Way of Lights at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville here in downstate Illinois, Metro East to be specific. I'm glad I followed your advice Laurence.
We are fans we are going to watch. The o-line is bad, but their best talent group is 3wr, there is no fullback on the roster. As bad as the offense was tonight if Curhan does not get called for holding we win. Everybody wanted to see Brown be the coach do not complain now. We have to get better coaching and must upgrade the talent on the o-line, nothing else matters.
I was hopeful for what's his name, the interim head coach (I don't want to say it out loud.) But honestly, how many more screens can you throw to DJ moore? How many more jet sweeps can you run with Swift who appears to now be a third down back? You know why regular screens don't really work with the bears? Because everybody knows they can get past their offensive line already. They can't even chip a d lineman to fake a damn screen! I know they have one last week but that's more sarcasm. How many passes can a Udunze and Allen drop? How many times can you NOT target Kmet or Everett who's seen like what, 2 passes all year? Sarcasm. In all my 45 years watching Chicago Bears football, I have never seen a more inept and pathetic piece of shit that they call an offense. I always tell my wife that the biggest thing in sports that everybody tends to forget about is momentum. You can't gauge momentum, you just can't. It can last several games, it can last 5 minutes. And it can do that in both directions. I never saw a team DIE on a Hail Mary. I'm so angry I want to kick this shit out of every team playing us that celebrating. I think I need therapy. Until I really got into the nuances of football, I didn't understand how key ownership is. The mccaskeys are nothing but fucking thieves!
It was comical background during my long drive this afternoon but Thayer and Joniak aren’t it anymore. They fail the basics of play by play on the radio.
Don’t worry Laurence, I put together a Lego set and played some NHL 14. I love the bears but I stopped watching ritually after the commanders game. Every year we get excited and the season is over before week 9. It’s pathetic and I’m not going to put myself through it.
I haven’t watched a game with these so-called professional football players since the Washington game and after that I just quit and I have better things to do with my time and I’m a lot happier for it
I went to the game last night. I'm an idiot. It was great to hear Herb Howard on 670 yesterday finally saying that keeping Fields and getting the haul of picks was the right move. This roster needed so much more than a hype mirage at QB. this was his SEVENTH entire game without a TD
Caleb is obviously the present, and future QB of this team, but in hindsight, would using the number one pick as a bargaining chip to make moves to shore-up these glaring deficiencies have been a better move?
Definitely should’ve gone for more line help with the #9 and #142 picks overall instead of a WR and punter. Considering how bad the coaching and protection on this team is, Caleb has still had a good rookie season.
Laurence, YES- I did watch it because I'm addicted to certain kind of pain and punishment. As true Bears fan are too familiar with, it is a part of Chicago Bears fandom. Disappointment, pain and heartbreak. Can't wait for your short coaching take, I'm sure George can't wait to get his little fingers into the "process" and deny his involvement. He seems to be trying to make his family name vilified in this city, nay- the league.
I don't actually buy that he hired Eberflus. Eberflus interviewed, then poles got hired, and then hired Eberflus, 2 days later. It just doesn't add up to me. Eberflus is like a self help person, these type of people don't come with friends who help them get hired. Eberflus was probably the cheapest hire available. It blew my mind how nobody was upset when they first hired him. My first reaction was "who the fuck is that?" For the past 3 coaches that's how I felt They didn't even talk to Harbaugh because of the dumb president we have who's probably the one making most of the decisions. I hope he gets fired and the owner sells the team for way less than it's worth. I'm not sure i'd give up on Poles yet. Because i'm not convinced he's making these stupid moves. It was probably a corporate decision that poles had to agree to do, to get hired. If that rumor is true that he wanted to get rid of Eberflus after drafting Caleb, and they didn't let him do that, it just confirms what i'm thinking. Also there's a rumor about how he said if he knew the team's dynamic would be like this, he wouldn't have taken the job. It reaks of corporate interference to me. I think that's whats being hinted, if he actually said that. Everything about this season, rome at #9, the stadium talks, hard knocks with slip n slides. The combination of all of that shit was all about media attention/revenue and not winning games. I don't buy that it was Poles decision to take Rome at #9, when he's an O line guy and we clearly needed a LT and Center for the past 10+ years. I'm not excusing the guy for all of the bad decisions he actually did make. But when it comes to these things I don't think it was him. These are money plays to bring fans back and build hype. Unfortunately since it was so bad, it made things worse and they were forced to fire eberflus. Either that, or it was discussed at some point to start tanking the season for a high draft pick, but i don't think that's it cause it's too risky. TLDR: there's probably a lot more to the story than you are being sold. there are some things they will just NEVER say until they leave the team.
lol poles hired Eberflus…I can’t help but laugh at people spouting the same “he didn’t hire flus” nonsense…even if it’s true, you realize that your KING POLES would still be a complete moron for taking a job where he couldn’t even pick his own coach over other GM job offers he had. It’s not the defense you think it is
I wish all Bears fans were like you. It wouldn't matter if I agreed with a single thing in your post, it was a well thought out, well written train of thought! You are obviously a ICU fan like most of us on this thread. Never, and all my years, if I hated, and I know it's a strong word, ownership. Fucking thieves. Fucking thieves. I'm angry just posting this!
I've been a devoted fan since 8-years old (1977) this year has been the worst. Today was the first time I ever skipped watching the game on purpose and I am glad that I did. I imagine it's extremely difficult for the guys to maintain a positive outlook for the future. I'm guessing a lot of them can't wait to escape the sinking ship. IMO Nothing will change with this team until the McCaskey's sell it. I hope that happens sooner rather than later. I am disgusted with the losing culture the organization has allowed to become engrained into the teams infrastructure. Year after year they produce a subpar product on the field under this ownership, and they expect the fans to remain loyal? Why do I continue to follow this team with such devotion? Over the last 47 years, how many seasons were the Bears relevant overall? I'd have to say maybe 11 seasons (6 since 1990) as a fan that's unacceptable.
McCaskey needs to grow a pair and be a leader. (Not sure this is possible) I would sit Poles and Warren down, tell Warren enough F'in around the City and State have no money. Get shovels in the ground in Arlington. Tell Poles I want new coach before the super bowl. No coordinators, must have previously been a head coach. (Ben Johnson may well turn out to be a great head coach somewhere but not Chicago now)
It was 20 years ago when I realised the Bears owners weren't interested in being winners. They just wanted to win some games in order to pacify the rabid Bear fans ... knowing full well they would remain addicted to the Bears. To this day, this remains true.
Lawrence, I took your advice and did not watch. I loved the 3 hours in which I did other stuff. Been doing this most of the season after the Washington catastrophe.
What’s really sad? Is we have a team that is loaded with Talon in this record that we are currently have is just a shame the team that we actually have we should be at least on the Lions heels. They better figure out this coaching thing or we’re doomed forever.
I enjoyed watching this game. It's not hate watching it's more like appreciating the Karma that the bears have heaped upon themselves. If Poles is not fired this year than all this will happen again next season.
Remember last season when all the blame was put on Justin Fields shoulder's, and they said the Bears must get Caleb cause he is a once in a lifetime "Generational" talent that could make any team better, and how the Bears was going to win the superbowl this year and Caleb was going to be the GOAT........
As a neutral who for some reason tried to watch this game, where do I go to get my time refunded? I'm getting old. I don't have time for Seahawks 6 - Bears 3 on a Friday. Or indeed on any day!
I couldn't hear anything Jalen said with that running back jumping over his head...... Go do your job JJ, and it's not worrying about the next management/coaching team.
This team really makes me question who I am as a man. I have been a fan of this god-awful team for 40 plus years, and I have no idea why. I am stupid enough to believe that each year will be different than the last. As long as the McCaskeys own this team, it will be trash. All they care about is money, and the TV deals made it so much worse, but if as a fan you can't see what the problem is, you're absolutely incompetent. Anyways, thanks for your work. I for one appreciate it
Bro if I didn’t watch this game, then why would I watch you? You are a part of my dark deep addiction to this fucking team and sports city. Honestly no matter how bad it gets I’m always gonna watch because I feel like it’s teaching me life lessons.. lol. That’s all I got at this point.
I gotta admit tho Laurence that DC Eric Washington figured out that he has aggressive defensive players so it’s best to coach them to that. Not the soft zone crap but press zone coverage or straight up man.
Laurence, you should absolutely move on to greener pastures if you can. Similar to Parkins, too talented and good natured to spend your time with Chi sports.
It doesnt matter what coach we bring as long as Poles is picking the talent. How can you possibly be a GM for 3 years now and still not have one single probowler, or a guy who is a game changer. This fool traded Roqoun, paid his replacement $72 million and he has less defensive stats than TJ Edwards who got $18 million and $100 million plus a 2nd rd pick for a DE with wait for it 5.5 sacks and 31 tackles this year. Dont get me started on the offenslive line.
Honestly, we should bench Caleb, not because he is bad, at this point there is nothing to play for, and honestly I don't want to get embarrassed by GB, I am not gonna watch
I agree with Laurence, I wish all the replies were like mine where everyone was talking about all the other cool things they did other than watching this sad sack of BEARS FOOTBALL... Also do NOT watch the game on January 5. Drive the ratings down in Chicago as much as you can.
Can you imagine what FGB is going to do to them? 😂 unreal man, just unreal... poles has to go maybe Warren as well and definitely the coaching staff, this is shit, sell the team!!!! Let a real football guy buy this team for heaven's sake
You people that keep saying we should have kept Fields do not understand the business side of the league or how contracts work. The Bears had to move on or pay him, or let him walk without getting anything in return. If we kept him and gave him a 2nd contract, it would have been an absolute waste of money. Pay Fields what $30 or $40 million a year to watch him get injured running around?? He CAN'T READ the field! Can't throw from the pocket. He's F'n blind and or slow from the neck up, and all he can do is run, which is unsustainable in the NFL.
Both weren’t right. Caleb was right. You don’t stop in a zone when you have no defender in front of you. That would’ve been a huge play if he didn’t stop running
Chicago has been bad for a long time, why are people freaking out over another bad season. I blame y'all for believing a rookie QB with a terrible o-line was going to take the north and never give it back. A football team is built from the inside out, when the Bears realize that then we will have success again. I believe the o-line has given up 50 or more sacks the last 5 seasons. Talk about that.
Ed and Doug’s postgame show would have been one for the record books tonight.
Somebody would’ve had an aneurism😂
OB and Dan Hampton...took no prisoners tonight !!!
“LET ME TELL YA SOMETHING, DOUG!”
“MY GOD, Danny!”
-OB every 5 minutes
DICK JAURON!!🤣🤣

Agreed. The kid’s good. We know that already. Now he needs a line that can protect him.
@@davisdurandDo you think CJ Stroud would have done better with this line and infrastructure? Drake Maye? Jayden Daniels? The best QB would get massacred in with this line.
I agree
Doug Baffone is rolling in his grave. "OFFENSE STUNK! DEFENSE STUNK!!! SPECIAL TEAMS STUNK!!!"
2 field goals is pretty good for defense I would say
Doug would have a pencil in his jugular by now !!
Yeah, the defense was fine. It wasn't like Geno missed every throw. Seahawks players weren't having unforced fumbles.
Doug and Ed would call this whole team full of a bunch of tomatoe cans
Miss listening to big Doug
Next week will be the first time that I will voluntarily not watch the Bears play a football game since I started watching about 25 years ago.

To this day, this remains true.
Lawrence, I took your advice and did not watch. I loved the 3 hours in which I did other stuff. Been doing this most of the season after the Washington catastrophe.
Hey I saw on ESPN that the Mariners beat the White Sox 6-3.
Thomas brown checked out 😂
I should’ve watched Squid Game season 2. Just depressing. Thank you for the free therapy session.
Thomas Brown doesn't deserve an interview. Thank him for his time and keep it moving
Watching that game last night, the term dumb fuckery comes to mind.
What’s really sad? Is we have a team that is loaded with Talon in this record that we are currently have is just a shame the team that we actually have we should be at least on the Lions heels. They better figure out this coaching thing or we’re doomed forever.
Anyone notice how Thomas Brown doesn’t have a laminated call sheet? Did he dumb down the offense even more?
I was at that dumpster fire of a game. What a waste of time.
I didn’t watch and had a great night with the Fam. Thanks for the advice!
I’m so glad I didn’t catch the game. Totally took your advice L, stopped watching the Bears game last week game, this game, and next week episode. 😂😂😂
I have been watching this car wreck for 40 years! I'm done!!!
That was absolutely AWFUL 🤮
Silo is a great show…really hope you’ve watched Severance too.
Thomas Brown is clueless so far. All hat and no cattle.
I need an intervention at this point. We ALL knew you were right, and yet…….here we are.
Ryan Poles HAS to go after the season. He CANNOT stay after what has happened this season.
I gotta admit tho Laurence that DC Eric Washington figured out that he has aggressive defensive players so it’s best to coach them to that. Not the soft zone crap but press zone coverage or straight up man.
I haven't watched a game this year!! There was no need to this year!!🤪🤪
LoHo, you were right, why did I do this to myself? I could've been watching Lower Decks!
Laurence, you should absolutely move on to greener pastures if you can. Similar to Parkins, too talented and good natured to spend your time with Chi sports.
I watch the Bears when they play. Full stop.
I’m not confident things get consistently good until George leaves. But poles has to go at least. C’mon Warren. Do the right thing.
I watched reruns of the 3 Stooges instead of watching the 11 Stooges being the Bears Offensive Unit!
Celeb getting coaches fired
Caleb deserves some blame
If a rookie gets a coach fired, the coach was in trouble anyway
Yes Caleb Williams is the reason Matt Eberflus couldn’t win football games…brilliant take
Didn't do something else. Regretting it.
T Brown will get a job next year, not a head coach.
Ron Rivera would be my choice.
It was a fun game to watch when you actively root against the Bears.
And bears fans filed the stadium.
Nobody can save this team. SELL, SELL, SELL
Best advice you gave was not to watch.....
Lawrence Holmes has a podcast!!!!!!!!!!!!
