I feel ya, for us it was "Everything I Do, I Do It For You". That was the song we had played at our wedding. Married, right outta high school and made it 15yrs. Got a wonderful son to show for it tho and some great memories. Been divorced 20yrs now, longer than we were together and yet it seems like yesterday. Hind sight is 20/20 they say, but I wouldn't change a thing, except the ending. Life is a harsh mistress, my heart goes out to you. Be well.

We are now closer and deeper in love than ever. We so enjoy listening to the 70s & 80s music, especially this song, when we go out crusing in the exotic speed machine I recently bought, simply because I like her.

This is the greatest ballad of the 80s. Sounds as good as ever! Bryan is one hell of a songwriter.
Especially since this was inspired by Journey's "Faithfully".
Not even near the best, and none of the english-language ballads from the 80's are in top 20 worldwide. 15 of those (if not more) go to Yugoslavian rock ballads who could teach these US and UK rock bands a thing or two (or three) about songwritting, totally different quality leagues.

2002 baby here and there’s even a 2002 techno version cover of this masterpiece. I lost my twin sister weeks after birth so every time I listen to this song I always think of her, so it’s a bit difficult to listen to. But I agree I can appreciate music of all eras , genres and cultures, modern music however needs to be dug a bit deeper to reach the gens :)
Tears. My mom died nov 4 2023. I held had hand as she died. One of the last things I said to her was please let me know you are always with me. A few days later I was watching utube music started playing. I wasn’t paying attention to music i exited out of utube went bk in still playing, I got up went to stereo, the output was changed from tv to fm radio and this song was playing. I cried so hard. It was her way of letting me know she’s with my dad now in heaven.

This was my Senior Prom song back in 1984. It was also my boyfriend and my “song” so it was so magical. Still makes me weak in the knees and starry-eyed. There’s nothing like the magic of being in love, before the reality of life destroys us slowly as we age. At least music can bring back the ecstasy and the memories.
