    Great video. We have been fulltime RVers since 2015. Being debt free is so freeing! We love our lifestyle and some day will settle day. It is amazing how happy you can be without all that "stuff" we had living in a house. We are both happier and healthier!

    I LOVE YOUR CHANNELS! First, the 2 of you clearly have great chemistry, congratulations to bth of you for that. Secondly, you explain topics in a very palatable manner.
    I have been lucky that my fiancé from Thailand has just come to the US. Her and I will marry in the next few weeks. We have discussed that when I retire (less than 5 years), we will more than likely live abroad. Thailand is certainly on that list, as she has a lot of family there. With all this said, an opportunity has somewhat arisen in the last 3 months where I could possibly transfer to a new location that will give me more money, and therefore improve my immediate life as well as retirement. EVERYTHING you are discussing has gone through my head. Selling everything, living on the cheap, and then when the time comes, retire and move. I have been thinking a lot lately about "my things." And you are correct. I really don't need most of it. My computer and my cellphone are probably the only 2 things I really need. I am amazed at how many items I have accumulated over the years. And just how crazy it is to see the things and how much space they take up.
    Thank you ver much for the terrific videos!

    What about family photo albums, did you get everything digitized?
    Do you store anything. What about heirloom’s, jewelry anything special that was handed down & isn’t replaceable?

    How do taxes and important documents (e.g. drivers license, medical, etc.) work when you don't have a permeant residence?

    You always produce great videos - I love seeing your travels since I love Amtrak also - but this topic assists people in finally moving forward in doing more with the time they have to enjoy living. As you mention, setting up a good plan to get you where & how you want your lifestyle to look like. I’m not into full time travel but I appreciate all the advice.

    How do you plan for future care that may be needed? Each of us has had a father that needed to live somewhere with more care than they could get at home. I have always thought that it was based on assets to pay for these places. So I am curious how this planning goes thinking of possible future needs. I absolutely love your manner, your channels, your affection for Amtrak, and all your good advice!

    By far my favorite video so far. Due to health reasons I'm am retiring in two years at age 62. I will have my state pension and Early SS. My adult daughter also wants to travel and is looking into working remotely from anywhere. (I don't fly so my travel will be anywhere I can go by train, boat or RV) my house is already paid for and I have two years left on car payment. I'm excited! Thank you so much for this info 👍🏻😁 safe travels!

    Great video. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I was wondering why you and all full time travels I see on You Tube have sold their houses? We were thinking of renting our house out and having a steady monthly income for travels. Is there a rationale behind your decision that makes selling a better option. I would be grateful if you could explain it.

      It's just a lot of work to manage a rental, so many people just put the money from the house in the stock market and collect the dividends instead. It just matters what you are comfortable with.

    Amazing advice. Life goals.... As a US Citizen do you have an address that is your 'official' address? I know credit cards need an official address. Do you use a PO Box or just a family memeber's address?

      lots of people use a family member's/friend's address, but this has drawbacks ie they move, or don't live in a state where you have your DL and/or pay taxes etc. Best solution is to use a virtual mailbox.

    • @GroundedLifeRetirementTravel
      @GroundedLifeRetirementTravel  Рік тому +7

      There is great medical care in most countries. Many people from the US go on vacations just to get medical work done, so it isn't usually a problem.
