"Now just imagine if it had proper suspension geometry instead of macpherson front who good it would be!" In fairness the mcpherson strut set up on the supra isnt exactly the same as "Ol Gran pappies" mcpherson set up. Instead of using a single control arm / wishbone under neath, it has multiple links with dual pivot points. Its not a bad set up by any means- and its not as easy to go "well a double wishbone set up WOULD have been so much better :D". Its kinda like those that pointed out for awhile "but the corvette has leaf springs, and leaf springs suck!". *Kinda*, but its a very modern take on it that does a *way* better job than the antiquated layout ever did.
@@SidewaysGtsyes and no as you still have compromise geometry curves with only the lower links and all the loading happening at the top hat. So even Chevy moves to double wishbone in the C8. The Supra likely used the compromise in the front because of packaging and fitment. Your point is well taken but there is a reason why when packing isn’t a concern, you don’t even see modern or advanced Macpherson in virtually all racing series nearly as often as traditional double wishbone.
Figured I’d ask Jackie as he has a lot of experience on racing s2000, did you ever compare lap times between square and staggered setup? What did you prefer?
@@JackieDing86 thank you for the feedback, what tire and wheel sizes did you finalize on before you moved on from the s2k? And what sway bars and spring rates were you on? Lastly, what alignment specs?
Such a damn good run!
Wow, crazy fast. Awesome job.
It was awesome seeing you in person compared to all the times I’m just watching you race on UA-cam haha 🔥
them shifts nasty
Got a trans upgrade in the works, haha
blazing fast lap!!
Great lap!
I am early and first. I am here for another Jackie Ding video.
660whp on SOW must be quite a handful! Now just imagine if it had proper suspension geometry instead of macpherson front who good it would be!

Super bananas!
That’s silly fast

Square all day. This one change turned the S2K from a good track car into a great track car for me. Probably my favorite mod I ever did in the S2K.

Hey man! What did you use a brake marker going into the banked turn??
Hopes and Prayers LOL
Literally there's no markers so it's all by feel and rhythm
what the hell? minute 25 used to be quick, how much did they repave this place?
i mean idk, I'm not from around here but supposedly quite a bit? haha
why did you go with the stoptech kit over AP racing?
BUDGET LOL
Nice shifting, lol
How much more weight can you guys take out of the car?
Jackie explained this in previous videos, basically under the car’s current class rules, really not a much.
Class rules require full interior
@@brandongao3675 Thanks for the answer.
Nice BMW you have there!
