    Sorry sir, i seem to be receiving the same error code, did your dashboard indicate that the fuel cover didn't close tightly. i have replaced the fuel covers severally yet the error and dashboard warning keeping showing up. ii also noticed its usually doesn't when the fuel tank is 85-100% full. i don't understand anymore. Any help please!

    I was working on my E90 n52 to replace the CCV hose after I snapped it during a Valve Cover job. I snapped open my Purge Valve exactly like you did at 6:59, is it really okay to reuse after the outer clip is off like that? Other than that everything else looks fine. Thanks for the video.

    thank you , for the upload. I have 2011- N55 E70, petrol turbo 3litre, the tank purge valve is in the same location behind the throttle body ?. will the steps to remove it - is the same ? ... I like to attempt fuel tank ventilation (purge valve) adaptation, disconnect the electric connector on the purge valve.. idle the engine for 15 minutes.. shut off and wait 10 min , reconnect the electric connection to the purge valve , restart the car and drive for 10-15 minutes. Hoping that the code will go away. thanks.. i have the code 28A0. You are amazing... current mileage is 166,500 kms, on a side note - should we replace the purge valve , consider that the car is 2011, high mileage....

    Hi Tim, I has been hunting for the problem Engine code 28A0 , .N55 ENGINE: FC 28A0 OR 101F01 THROTTLE VALVE OPENING ANGLE. I found out that there is a Technical Service Bulletin #SI B11 09 19 on this N55. I I did see a utube video here on youtube which a guy says that if the 2 pins are tested with a Ohm meter and its from 27--29 ohms,then this gas tank ventilation valve (purge valve) should be fine and is not the cause of this annoying problem. Tim what are your thoughts??.... because again, as i said this 28A0 has been showing up repeatedly on my OBD Ancel BM 700 CODE Reader . ty Sir

      I would bet on vacuum issue, there is a leak somewhere, what are other symptoms? Weird noises etc?

      @@Zeiten ,Ok Tim. thank you for your comment and great input!No weird noises or hissing sound,Tim, just as i had said before, when i initially First start my vehicle whilst it is cold weather ( we will be getting snow/ cold weather now very soon on the East coast of Canada). in the mornings and after the vehiclewas sitting for 8+ hours or so, the engine rpm flares up and down for 3-4 seconds and the vehicle stumbles/ runs uneven and rpm slowly levels off at 650-700 rpm and idles ok, this vehicle "must" be warmed up for at least 5-10 minutes before it can be driven, if not it will "feel" like it is misfiring on a cylinder,Also when this initial startup,when the weather was very cold, there would be a whistling sound for a few seconds only,but only, on this initial startup in the mornings.( this has been ongoing for 2 years during winter months, During the summer months no whistling noise...this is a mystery for me...BTW i did replace "new" top pan plus new gasket last november because of the top pan oil leak. as to this whistling noise, would the front engine oil seal cause it to make this whistling whilst it was cold outside and lower temperatures??? Again Thank you again Tim. i surely will check for any hoses loose/cracked and or plastics cracked.Ty for response Fred

      Now it is more clear, look into crankcase ventilation system, since in cold climates it can also freeze fully, by too pan you mean valve cover? If so what brand? Valve cover has built in crankcase vent system, also there is pcv calve on the hose coming from valve cover to charge pipe with 2 o-rings that usually cracks and makes noise. Here is a simple test when it makes whistling noise open oil cap see what happens

      @@Zeiten ,hi Tim,thank you for your response and you knowledgeable input !! i read and follow up lots on your videos, the whistling noise, as i said it was only a few seconds "Cold Startup only" this problem was there same thing with the older valve cover that was on the vehicle when i purchased it 3 years ago..i change the valve cove ( with new oil cap) because of the common rear valve cover oil leak.Also i felt that i may as well change the valve cover pan with a new "aftermarket"(/non oem) cover gasket.but i used a Elring Valve cover gasket at same time also, I did change new spark plugs with same exact part number as i removed and as recommended by the manufacturer because it had 145,000 thousand kilometers on it and i was not sure of what the original owners maintenence( BTW,I did noticed that the last 2 sparkplug cavities did gather some water when i removed the coil paks, i noticed that the "rubber" cover that cover over the complete top rear of the engine was torn,so i repaired this rubberish cover as i felt this was why the water did get down in this cavity, ). Yes,i did replace with new, a PCV Valve hose #11127584128,so i thinking the O rings are all good,ty.i will try the removing the oil cap and see what happens.but the problem with the whistling ordeal is that it only last for4-5 seconds on Cold startup only..... very frustrating and cannot figure this one out, ty Tim.

      Well as i said it’s best to get it diagnosed there is only so much i can do blindly🤷‍♂️ may be you upset bmw gods and that’s their punishment😂😂😂

    After you finish the installation the engine light disappear automatically???or you have to erase whit the machine

      I clear it of course, it might turn off on its own after a few drive cycles

    You think I have to change the catalytic converter I have this codes p0420 and p0430 or maybe is possible oxygen sensors spark plug ignition coils is same truck BMW X5 2008 3.0 si

      Well it depends, for how long have you had those codes? Switch gas station and of course put 91 or higher, also you can add fuel injector cleaner and octane booster to try and clean up the system, new plugs might help a little but i would bet more on octane booster better gas and fuel injector cleaner, and after all that drive it at around 4k rpm or longer drive to really heat up catalytic converter

      @@Zeiten ok the codes i have for long time around 5 months all the time I put 93 gas I try to put fuel injector cleaner today and check After that if the codes back maybe is the catalytic converter?

      You can but they pretty much doing the same thing choose one or another or do them separately

    Hey my x5 fills up only to half tank and then spills out would there be any fix for this. It's not the filler neck it only happened after a recall at BMW.

      Most likely one of the fuel level sensors is gone or stuck at empty that’s why it shows only half tank when in reality it’s full, there are 2 sensors one on passenger side with fuel pump and the other on drivers side, both under back seat

      It only fills with price wise as well only to about to about 50 l or 13 gallons so it just stops and starts spilling out because it does not allow for a full tank to be pumped

      When you fill you think it’s empty but there is still a half tank most likely even when the gauge says it’s empty

    Hi have you ever had the three lights for the Abs on and air bag. Then check on scanner only to say no default codes? I don’t understand

      I HAD A SHORT IN THE REAR TELEPHONE HARNESS. It got on fire then the truck went into transmission fail mode. I scanned and it said crankshaft sensor confirmed and MAF sensor confirmed. Fuse kept blowing at start. I cut the burn harness and tape it up. No more short. I rebuild the entire bmw watching your videos. Truck started last night. Today I ran the codes for ABS. Lights are on but scanner said no codes store. I also have a airbag light on with the abs lights. I’m thinking programming or bad module. I’m stuck at the moment. RB THE MECHANIC ON UA-cam HAS BEEN HELPING ME OUT ALSO. I got used module but I don’t think the module I have in the truck is bad.

      Well the most common issue would be transfer case actuator that can cause those warning lights to go on (regarding abs) also a possibility that steering angle sensor needs to be adjusted but usually on later models, regarding air bag light you just have to scan and see which one is it it’s not only 1 module responsible for air bags. Check live data on wheel speed sensors

      @@Zeiten before the fire it said abs pressure sensor open circuit, can speed sensor open circuit. I replaced the two sensors and cleaned out inside the wheel hub. I noticed the tooner wasn’t in place because the wheel was in a angle. I’m thinking now the angle of the wheel is separating the sensor from communication
