I'm team Z Fold 5. I actually prefer the slim formatting on the Fold. I bought a Fold to use it unfolded but for mundane tasks, like texting, scrolling through my feed or checking emails the outer screen on the Fold works fine for me.
App optimization, the S Pen/ stylus support, DeX, Samsung's ecosystem, I have a Samsung watch, tv, and tablet, and the crazy incentives Samsung offers, I got $1000 off the price for my S22 Ultra, are just a few reasons I prefer the Z Fold 5

Same here. I switched to OnePlus from Samsung. This OnePlus is is a much better phone. Not even close imo
Had to return my Z fold ..Main issue with Z fold is the front screen ... It's too narrow and tough to send messages without errors . Also coming from a S20 ultra , the z fold really strained my eyes and made the whole user experience uncomfortable. They really will need to make major changes for the z fold 6 ... Otherwise it's a great phone .
I traded my fold 5 for the Open. Love it!!!!!!!

Got the fold 4 skipped the fold 4.1, waiting for delivery of my open.

Planning to return my ZFold5 after my OnePlus open comes in. I thought Id like the Samsung more, but that crease is so bad.
I know I lay on the extreme side here, but its obvious, annoying, and its all I think about whenever I use the inner screen, and im not at the perfect angle, in the perfect lighting conditions, where the crease disappears.
I dont care if your device is 2mm thinner or the camera can zoom some stupid muliple of hundred amount. i buy big expensive foldy phone for big nice inside screen. Thats the most important par lt in my opinion.
The open has deep enough blacks, for me. I am using one as my daily driver. It's a beast. I refused to buy a foldable until the crease was gone or nearly gone. The crease on the Z Fold 5 and the Pixel Fold are like the Marianna Trench in the Pacific Ocean, extremely deep. The Open crease is like a mirage, sometimes you can see it, but when you look at it from a different angle, it's gone. Wireless charging has always been a mixed bag for me. Every time I used it, it would work for a while, but then for no reason, it would stop charging. This has always been the case for me all the way up to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Until wireless charging is perfected, I won't care about it. The open isn't waterproof either, but who cares? I don't plan on going swimming with my Open. I have yet to ruin a phone with water damage.
Had the Oppo Find N2 flip and there was no crease but after a few weeks it got deeper. Same will happen on the Open. Naive if you think otherwise
@@Gamer_85, that was the Find N2, not the Find N3. Two different phones. You're naive if you are that sure without really knowing. Only time will tell, not know-it-alls The Z Fold 5 is rated for 200,000 folds. The Pixel Fold is rated for 400,000 folds. The Open is rated for 1,000,000 folds. I have faith that the Open's screen will stay less creased than both the Z Fold 5 and the Pixel Fold. Period.

With which phone do you have the bigger display for UA-cam video ? ( I mean the black bar ) I’m looking for a phone with the biggest UA-cam / video viewing experience as I spend a lot of time on UA-cam
Looking at them side by side the viewable area is identical. More letterboxing on the open due to the more square screen however

I mean the Open also has spacial audio, it's just BETTER! Samsung will need to come with it next year if they make another version of this phone. Nearly everything is better on the Open.

I don't know. I could trade in my fold 5 plus give $200 for the open. But I really like my fold and don't think I would trade it for the open.

I personally like the aspect ratio of the fold 5, since it is a rectangle ill have a better experience playing games like COD mobile, on the oneplus its a square so the FOV ends up terrible and the controls formated weirdly. The hardware besides that is superior on the oneplus but the aspect ratio is a dealbreaker for me.

The Z Folds 5 is better for youtube. It is noticeably bigger than the One plus open and has a more rectangular shape which gives you more of that widescreen feel too@@Toxicat_JaJa
As a long time samsung fold user and currently i have a fold 5 and the open there are some things about the fold i prefer but there are some things on the Open which are better. The outer screen, the lack of crease is nice, zoom capacity destroys the Z fold (which for me is important). Its lighter and thinner, charges way faster.
There are some things i dont like as well though coming from Folds:
No 5g in canada on rogers and no option for it in settings as unboxed. Had to do some some research and download an app to get it working and will need to do that every time i reboot. Thats some BS there.
No WIFI calling
Cannot turn off split screen view in settings and messages
Cannot alter home screen layout rows and columns
Have to have the same layout on inner and outer screen
Gallery app is useless cant have albums
Cant watch you tube on outer screen with it open (tent mode) without opening the selfie camera first
Camera bump is really intrusive..way to big
No 8k video\wireless charging on a device at this price is weird but certainly not deal breakers these two.
Ill probably keep them both and just add the open to my device rotation.
I don't think I'd get rid of my fold 5 for it. I love the skinny cover screen and everything about this phone.
Need your opinion, I use the Samsung side bar ALL THE TIME. Anything similar to the OnePlus?

its very close but I tZ Fold wins that one. its not bad on the Open though
I think the perfect form factor in terms of size was the Oppo Find N2. I feel if you want a candy bar phone just stick to the top tier Iphone or Samsung. The pocket factor of the Oppo Find N2 was perfect. When you needed the bigger screen to consume content you unfold it. The outer screen was perfect to message or just your normal day to day activity.

I would have been disappointed that oppo didn't have wireless charging if it wasn't for the none fast wireless charging of the zfold5. I have the zfold 5 just cuz samsung's build quality is still better than the competition imo. And I don't even bother using a wireless charging powerbank since I know its going to bulk the phone up the for the remainder of the day cuz it's so slow, it might as well be another battery.

The Oppo Find N3 / OnePlus Open seems great -Cant say personally but you can trust Samsung. I have the Fold 5 it just works well Forbes.
There is nothing wrong with the Z Fold 5...the Open has the potential to be great
I have both. Samsung software is way better. One plus is bigger and I like it. I want a one plus with Samsung software. Also I'm hoping the one plus holds up as there are some complaints on the Internet.
The smaller hinge and slimmer design barely shows in side by side videos. They basically look the same size. Maybe it looks different in person and feels different in the hand but I haven't seen any video that makes it look drastically different like a comparison between the Honor and the Z5.
I wish there was someplace I could actually see the Open in person. Ill probably run into someone on the train.
I have both and you can tell the difference in person. It's nice not to have such a big dip in the inside screen on the Open.

It really isn't that much better than the fold 5. I prefer the thinner design as easier to use. Software much better on the fold plus water resistance etc
I got the s24 sent it back the fact that camera can't take pictures well while moving subjects i give up, traded my Z fold for one plus open waiting got it for 600$ after trade in with pro 2 earbuds
Samsung has The Open beat in every way apart from form factor as in the wider outer screen. If they fix this for the fold 6 then they will be top again. If they dont then im moving to the OnePlus Open 2.
Most outstanding fact is that at the time of one plus open launch everyone thought that samsung is on their 5th generation fold so it should be 5 years ahead of technology but OMG the 1st gen one plus open throws zfold 5 out of water. This is insane man

For $1,700 plus tax I want wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Also I want 4k@60fps on my selfie camera. The OnePlus Open is a awesome device, but Samsung still by as the best software for a foldable device

the fold 5 is better but i am amazed at what one plus has done amazing phone what sets the fold 5 apart from every foldable is s pen support, samsung dex, amazing software, and amazing features and one ui and the best multi tasking phone ever made

I'm not sorry but the OnePlus isn't better than the fold 5. Plus it's the third gen Oppo N3 rebranded for OnePlus. It's not a new device.😢. I like it but ran down, the Samsung is a bit better OVERALL.NOT just the front display.😮 😮😮

Ok but actually the Open/N3 *ARE* new phones. The previous phones that Oppo released N1/N2 are pretty different.
Yes, OnePlus used Oppo's N3 design verbatim... But the N3 is a significant leap from the prior phones.
Also Oxygen OS on the Open is better than ColorOS on the N line of devices....
samsung is still the total package just dex alone makes it better and the software. the fold 6 will be even better samsung started the folding phones and remain king. the one plus is a copy of the oppo with one plus branding 😅 they didn't even design the phone. i like one plus its just funny every new phone that comes out people jump on the bandwagon talking bad about samsumg lol

I agree tbh but it's a subjective opinion. I tend to prefer the default colors Samsung releases over the muted weird pastels they release as special edition colors. I'm also not a fan of the matte side rails.. but I know that's a minority opinion lol.
