Having my own 'shop' all cluttered up all the time I'm always amazed at how much stuff you have organised, how much organised bolts and bits and foam tape etc... Inspiring and kicking me in the butt!
I like to air pressure test new (aftermarket especially)heater cores with soapy water before installing. It sets my mind at ease. Another great video, Jeff!
I love old muscles cars!!! I especially have a soft spot for mopars but Chevy el do me fine. Man do I wish I had the space for all them cars! Yet another great video from you
Jeff that is beautiful Nova. I bet it runs as good as it looks. What engine is that you put in it. Its the kind of car we call a sleeper looks stock like a regular ole nova but I'M sure its got plenty of get up and go when you mash the gas. I hate replacing heater cores in cars the hardest one I ever did was in my 1997 Mercedes Benz E300 diesel it was a pain had to pull the entire dash out of the car to replace it. As far as what to charge when you get into custom work like you had to do for that heater core charge the customer your shop rate by the hour for how ever long it takes you buddy thats what we do in our business when we run into projects that are custom type work. loved the video. Take care of yourself have a great week!!!
I have my heater core bypassed in my 70 Z28 until I get in the mood to R&R it. I will be getting it recored if it can, because I hear the aftermarket ones don’t fit or don’t last.
beautiful car , and beautiful furbaby , we have a shih tzu, i also have a 76 nova, just replaced tired305 to a healthy 350, cant wait to get it back from my very trusted mechanic, also gotta ask was it hard to get out , i need to change my heater core also , i dont have ac in it , does that make it easier , can i get it from the dash or do i need to remove it from the egine compartment
So this year nova with AC you have to remove the AC box in the bay to access the heater core? Btw I just picked up a 78 nova rally. Just got it running and found the leak. I bypassed it for now. Thanks!
Is it a true Rally? i have a 79 Rally Myself. I've watched your channel for years, but never saw this one. i see you have a cooling system video on it from years ago. I found your channel when i saw the Video of the 76 SS you restored before.
No rally. Was a plain Jane. What shocked me on the car is it had factory tach and gauges. Never seen that on 77 to 79 to date. 75 to 6 seen lotsa of them.
@@2jeffs1 Jeff, my son and I are in the middle of restoring our 77 nova , I just restored a original RS grill . Is yours original or aftermarket?? And how does it fit?? Also we have a guy in our area that has a 75 that looks just like yours
In a throwaway society, Jeff sure knows how to make things last.
So right.... It costs money to replace things. If not for that I probably wouldn't be where I am today.

My 1980 corvette heater core was the hardest heater core I've ever done

Curious what type of lift are you using and what modifications if any needed to use?

I want this car like I want my health back!!!!
Hi there Tom!
What brand is that speedo converter?
Man I did that car in the early 90's. Seems that was mounted on the back of a Pontiac 6000 instrument cluster.
2jeffs1 ok, thank you.
