Starting med school in September and was really stressing about what I’ll wear on placements and this video is sooo helpful! Thank you! Also you showed me and a few people from my school around your medical school a couple years ago!
On placement and at work as hospital dietitian, I love midi and maxi (ankle or just above not floor) skirts because people look less down there and respect you more and you aren't worried when sitting down you have to cross legs to stop someone looking up skirt or you need to worry about it riding up when bending and getting back up. I did it the other way and the change in the way people treat me and my own confidence wss profound. Also a maxi elongates your legs particularly black. Obviously fitted blouse required
Love this gets me so excited for my placements! So many cute outfits I really love this video thank you Faye so helpful. Good luck in your exams girl you will smash it! Sending all the positive vibes in the world 💗 x
Literally!! I was the same! But it’s so much better knowing the range of things you can wear so you can pick something you’re comfortable with because I hate trousers but love dresses + skirts
Thanks for this video, I'm in a different healthcare-relative sector but I am obsessing over how to make a good impression and even though I'll likely have scrubs, it's worth coming in looking professional before the scrubs are on haha
I think the outfit need to fit the work you planned to do as a medical student. So that’s what I used to think when I choose my outfits both in my country and out side. Most importantly patients should not be distracted by my outlook. I’d rather build trust from the first impression so that they feel comfortable to share personal information with me.
god my wish list is huge, I’m constantly adding new bits 😂 You’re welcome gal! And no you don’t have to but I just prefer to because it gives me a bit more shape ❤️ xx
Aww glad you enjoyed!! Ye no rings unfortunately except a plain wedding band and I’m not too sure about necklaces. As far as I’m aware, as long as they’re short necklaces that don’t dangle I think they’re fine but you’ll have to check with individual hospitals about what their policy is ❤️
Thank you for this video!! Are you allowed to wear like a simple necklace? And can you get away with small hoop earrings? :) Also to put your hair up can you use hair claws? I find them so much more comfy!
Hi Faye, These outfits are gorgeous, you look amazing! I have to purchase these! I struggle with the sizing though as Boohoo I find is slightly different, With the tailored trousers is it best to go a size up? Lots of love
I'm a med student in South Africa and stating placement in 2021, I'm so stressed out because I literally need a whole new wardrobe from my shorts and mini skirts.
Aww I feel your pain!! Get a couple good quality shirts and trousers that you can mix and match and you’ll be fine. Is there a H&M in South Africa? They do really affordable placements clothes!! I go there all the time to get mine xxx
Hi there! Was wondering about shoes for placements? What are your go tos and do you have different types for different kinda of placements? Am starting placements next year myself and am struggling on what types of shoes would be appropriate and comfortable as not too unattractive heheh. Hope to hear from your experience, xx thank youuu
I’m in high school doing work experience at a hospital is this the type of thing I should wear - or could I go more relaxed since I’m not in med school yet. P.s my entire family work in the hospital and I’m always there in regular clothes anyway x
For my high school work experience I wore similar stuff! Oh I completely get what you mean, so many junior doctors wear chill clothes but I think it’s better to dress up more as a high school/med student to put ya best foot forward xxx
‘you still look professional with a waist’ WHAT AN ICON
😂❤️
Outfit details in the description box along with my boohoo discount code, enjoyyyyy 🤍

Literally!! I was the same! But it’s so much better knowing the range of things you can wear so you can pick something you’re comfortable with because I hate trousers but love dresses + skirts
I don't wear trousers so this is so helpful! Everyone seems to go to trousers and a blouse
Loved this video! Am going into my final year next year - always struggle to find placement clothes that are actually nice!

Faye: I hate wearing trousers because they dont flatter my legs
Me: WHERE?!..Like sis ya have a banging body😯
OH STOP IT 😭 it’s my height hahaha feel like they make me look even shorter than I am
ahh love this!! what’s the deal with jewellery, you mentioned no bracelets at the hospitals etc but what about rings and necklaces?💖
Aww glad you enjoyed!! Ye no rings unfortunately except a plain wedding band and I’m not too sure about necklaces. As far as I’m aware, as long as they’re short necklaces that don’t dangle I think they’re fine but you’ll have to check with individual hospitals about what their policy is ❤️
Faye Bate ahh that makes sense, thank you, your videos always give me an insight of what i hope my future holds too❤️
Just realised you go to the same uni as me!! Saw you on my uni page 💖
what about shoes?! I'm so lost on what to wear with dresses/business attire. I'm definitely not wearing heels - that's for sure!
I think lace up smart black shoes are the best option personally!! Mine are just cheap ones from primark 😁
Thank you for this video!! Are you allowed to wear like a simple necklace? And can you get away with small hoop earrings? :)

Aisha Adelopo thank you! 💖💖
Beautiful looks!
When your in years 1-3 what do you do on placement/when you go into hospital?
Do ever need to wear scrubs on placements?
Hey! Yes I do and to be honest I much prefer it 😂 it varies between departments
What are "dolly shoes"? Don't know if I'm saying it wrong😅
They are Like completely flat shoes that most of us used to wear when we were little, I think they are also called ballerina shoes
@@dakarkarda8233 thank you😄. I was really confused there. Had never heard the term before. PS: English is not really my first language😅
No problem!

For shoes, are loafers okay for hospital placements ?
Ye they should be!! The main thing is to make sure you’re comfortable in them ❤️
Yes! Just make sure they dont slip off easily, remember to always expect an emergency c
Hey will you explain what placement is? 😭😂
Placement is when we go to hospital! So from years 1-3 we are mainly learning on campus however we go to hospital occasionally ☺️
You look gorgeous love❤🐳
Thank you 💖💖💖
