I think this is a great new take on the "found footage" horror genera. At first I thought I clicked on the wrong thumbnail, but I'm very glad I continued to watch!! You all did great!! This is a wonderful example of Good Horror!! A+ Work!!
Thank you Belle! Yeah it was a bit of a gamble. Most people don't think its a horror and when they see my mug at the start talking to them they think the same as you and stop watching haha. Originally it was called 'How to make a horror using zoom' so it had more of a surprise when people watched, but people just weren't watching haha. Glad you stuck with it and enjoyed it! :)
This video is the equivalent of the meme "They had me in the first half, not gonna lie" Amazing work as always, don't know how you pulled this off but dang it's awesome. Chills and everything. Well frickin done.
Cheers Dee Mon. Really glad you enjoyed it. Was a bit tricky, especially as I had to act haha! Basically we used two phones, one that we used to communicate and 'act' and then the other record ourselves. Then the part where she's chased by her bf, that was filmed by me in my house and I just cut that together with Chloe's vo.
There is a movie called "Host", which is pretty much revolved around the same idea. Watched it yesterday, it was great! As I see now, it came out on July 20th, 2020, while this one precedes it by almost 2 months. Interesting... :-p
@@MattSears Probably helped that I watched it last night at about 3 AM with the lights off :D I also have a mild phobia of video calls, which this probably hasn't helped!
I REALLY enjoyed this video. The way the actress had her shot framed so you could see her partially-opened closet made me extremely anxious right from the get-go, and it was an anxiety that never paid off in an actual scare, which built more dread. I also really like the fact the scares didn't have loud musical stings, which I think is a cheap way to startle audiences. (Music is a great touch, don't get me wrong, I just don't like being deafened in an attempt to make me jump, if that makes sense.) Great effects as always, and extremely riveting and frightening. I've been diving into your content and I've been so impressed by all of it! I hope you one day do a behind-the-scenes video for real that gives us a little peek at your workflow. I'd love to know if you do your effects in AfterEffects or if you do any animation in a program like 3DS Max, but I understand if you don't want to spoil the magic! Thank you for sharing your art with us, and I look forward to more of it.
Thank you! Yeah I do hate cheap jump scares. I think it's cheating if you use loud music or sound effects, of course you'll jump if you play something loud when its quiet haha. You gotta set it up well. Really glad you enjoy my films and thank you so much for checking them all out! I was thinking of doing a series of behind the scenes videos, but the ones I made didn't go down that well really. I came to the realisation that most people want to see the films I make, not me making them hahaha. But if there's an interest i'm happy to do a little BTS for some of the effects. for 99.9% of my effects i'll use After Effects. I'm hoping to shoot my next short next month, so maybe i'll get someone to film BTS and I can give everyone an insight into how we make it. Thanks again for checking out my stuff, really appreciate it.
The only thing that makes zero sense here is at the end...the zoom call hangs up. Are we suggesting whatever it was....wanted to save data or something? Lol. Loved it.
@@MattSears it was definitely unexpected, I seriously thought it would be a script reading but I should have checked the video's runtime. Great job, honestly. Hopefully you can make a great feature film someday. You could fit in with the David F Sandburg or Mike Flanagan new wave of horror.
@@thebc5754 Thank you so much! Yeah fingers crossed, that's the goal. Not sure how this whole pandemic will effect the industry. I'm hoping it will create new opportunities! In the mean time, will continue to create cool shorts! Thank you for watching and all you support again! Always great to hear from you. :)

Thank you Matt! Was apprehensive as to how this would turn out, but I think it's pretty fun haha.
FINALLY I FOUND THIS VIDEO, I remember seeing it years ago, and I've been looking for it on youtube for almost 6 months! the search was worth it.
i enjoyed that part where he realises hes next...
I was uneasy about the slightly open closet door. I just KNEW it was a threat. Weeeelllll....
That wasn't even intentional, that was just Chloe being messy i think.
Matt Sears
Lol! Well it worked out perfectly in the end 🖤

I'm sharing it with everybody I know.

Omg its the Mom from I Heard It Too
I think Unfriended 2 did something similar but, that mostly involved criminals.
Love this. Well done. And great performance!
Thank you Jay! Great performance from Chloe, not too sure about myself. Probably my first and last performance in front of camera haha.
Nice job 👏

Hahaha very true. It has 2 hates, humans and wasted data.
