Phone: Telstra is the best and great coverage but expensive / Optus is the direct competitor to Telstra but not as great with coverage but cost wise it’s cheaper / Vodafail is crap, avoid. Bank: Commbank has the best internet banking and app. Bigger branch numbers and accept Apple Pay. Australia is early adopter of card payment with Eftpos introduced decades ago, tap and go been around for 20years so Apple Pay and Google Pay is the current trend. No one swipe card anymore. NSW Opal card I usually pay with my Apple Watch, unless you use it often easier to use your bank card to tap or phone.
Just found your channel and you are helping me and my wife a lot! We are going to Australia soon, and your info is awesome, please keep making videos 😊 Thanks, greetings from Brazil!
As a Melburnian I can confirm her information is very good. One thing I would say is our state capital cities have very good public transport ( particularly Melbourne - trams and trains, and Sydney- buses and trains) but if you are moving to a regional ( small) town you will be shocked at how bad public transport is. Likewise transport between our cities is exceptionally poor. We drive or fly. Nobody takes trains because our rail system is atrocious! I came here from the UK and had lived in Japan too and was stunned how far behind Australia is with intercity mass rapid transit options.
@@triarb5790 as far as public transport goes you’re talking about 2 tiny countries and trying to compare it to a massive country with a tiny population. A very unfair comparison
That's spot on, and exactly what I'm trying to achieve! Migrating to another country is a huge adventure! So I'm hoping the channel helps everyone to settle nicely and make their lives easier both when they are preparing to come here, but also throughout their migration journey :) Thank you for this comment! really appreciated!
Aussie here, I try to use cash as much as possible, it allows me to keep track of my spending much easier, although I do use my card and phone on occasions, but I rarely have my phone on me outside of work hours.
I am so eager to come to Melbourne, Australia with humanitarian visa. And especially for me and for newcomers, your valuable information is helpful and great. Thank you for your guidance and as well transparency. May Allah bless you....
Hi I am really enjoying your video channel. I am preparing to make the big leap from Minnesota USA to Melbourne. Looking for a flight to get down under to look for some housing and just a time to enjoy the country and familiarize myself with the culture. I am not a frequent flyer so I must admit I was a little shocked to see that the flight time would be just over 24 hours. I knew it would be long but the longest I have ever flown is 8-10 hours in military! Maybe that would be a good video, be prepared for long travels😊 Thank you again so mucho gracious! 🦘
Thank you so very much for this video, and the many others you've created that I've watched. They are all extremely helpful! You're iterally a lifesaver. I appreciate your effort. God bless!
Thank you madam for your videos❤ , as an international student about to go and study in Australia, your videos really help to relief my doubts of especially what to do when you first arrive .
Howdyyawl from the land down under. The other option is prepaid open ph.. I use Aldi sim. This way if you have the phone stolen or loose it, you can get another one until a new one is setup. Keeping it real 😊
Very informative and perhaps you have a separate video explaining the Medicare Levy on taxable income and how to get a Medicare card to use the Health care system for newbies. I am not a newbie.
Australia is not a totally cashless society. People will use contactless pay systems with their bank card (either plastic card or a card on their phone) most times but cash is still very common.
Cashless society thing is overhyped. Spent 2 weeks there and paid primarily in cash, only rejected once. Bus/trains use a tag on/off card but you can top up the card with cash if you want.
I just moved to Canberra and almost all places I go to have contactless payment disabled for phone payment. It has happened so many times I just don't leave the house without cards and cash anymore. Phone isn't enough here.
Can't you maybe stay in like a AirBnB for like the first week or 2 just until you find a place... A place that is cheaper just until you have al the other things sorted...
I want to ask.....as you said, once we arrived at Australia, we will get temporary accommodation...to get the temporary accommodation, is it we need to register for the Australian Government first or otherwise?
Hai, could you recommend a place that best for backpackers there in Australia while in a 1st WHV particularly in regional area for farm work? Thanks in advance
Hi dear, i planned to move to australia with Working Holiday Visa. Do you have any suggestion regarding the best city in australia to live for first timer? Please kindly let me know🥰
Any other place to stay when you immagrate to AUS? Because I feel like you wont find a place immediately because you have to do all the other things first? Like a AirBnB or Hotel??
Hello, me acaban de dar la visa pero no mencionan nada acerca de los pasajes de avion (si necesito comprar ida y vuelta) ni de la estadía (tendré que proveer una dirección donde me quedaré?) no sé donde encontrar esa información
Hi Tini, I just being granted skiled migration visa. I need to look for next steps on what to do when I get into Australia. I came across your video. but this is for tourists, yeah.. I ddint' engage lawyer and i couldnt find anything on DHA website. where and what shud I do , e.g. collect residency ID etc. appreciate in advance for your advise. Thanks @livingsimplyaustralia
Hi, the information provided in this video is for residents - not tourists. There's no residency ID to collect. For this, you usually use your passport or driver's license. You can also download the free step-by-step guide I offer on what to do your first month settling in Australia (see pinned comment). Cheers
📌 Great video. I started watching your videos last year as a beginner before giving stock and crypto market a trial. I was able to make $17,300 in one month with a capital of $4,000 trading with an experience expert who guided me through out my trading.
Besides I and my wife have been trading with Chrissy Barymoer for over a year and I've made good profit of $863000 that's not much but l'm happy with the progress, I don't have to look for jobs anymore
When I saw testimonies all over the place I thought it was all made up stories till I was convinced and gave it a try and honestly I don't regret the move i made because I invested in a big way
At the moment, this is only available in NSW and South Australia - but they are in the process of trialling and rolling it out across other states too! (fingers crossed!)
What a Load of Crap about using your card and people looking at you weirdly. By the way, Not all states have tap on and tap off. You don't have to pay rent Monthly and secondly, you forgot about the bond deposit.

Vacation across Australian cities. Have learned that Australia is one of the happiest countries in the world.
Phone: Telstra is the best and great coverage but expensive / Optus is the direct competitor to Telstra but not as great with coverage but cost wise it’s cheaper / Vodafail is crap, avoid.

For an international student on a budget?
Concise and precise. Thank you.

Make sure you touch off your myki card. If you touch on and forget to touch off, you will be charged.
Don't forget to apply Medicare
