Trinity is tough as nails, I'm surprised she lasted so long with that knee on the head. And then she fought off the armbar for a long time. Savonnah had some good technique especially getting past guard.
Really hard fought match by both girls. Savonnah deserved the win, but Trinity deserves some love as well. I bet they were panting at times from the body slamming on the mat during the first couple minutes.
Never a good idea to start the match by dropping to the mat while your opponent is still standing, learned this the hard way. Both ladies worked hard though.
@Bobby Brissette I get that, but what's the point in practicing something that is only effective within that strict condition of a match where the opponent only uses BJJ? The most important point, arguably, of learning any form of martial arts is for self defense. If you ingrain in a person the habit of pulling guard before you even engage the opponent and the person tries this in a real fight where there are no rules that exist within a BJJ sparing or tournament, it could get them injured or worse. Practices and habits like these are not practical or good to learn and make habitual. If an altercation arises in the real world and a BJJ student does what he/she has always trained to do (Which is to sit on the mat and waits for the opponent to engage) will be totally vulnerable and open when the opponent starts to kick and punch. That technique might be great within the context of BJJ but will not work to protect you against an opponent who is not restricted to the rules of BJJ. And even in this case, it didn't help here anyway. She fought an opponent who was clearly stronger than her even though they were for the most part evenly matched when it came to skill and technique. Don't get me wrong, the actual technique of pulling guard is very useful when done in it's intended purpose of pulling a standing opponent to the ground in order to gain an advantage over someone who is better at striking or has a different style of martial arts such as Muay thai or Boxing where they have the advantage standing and striking. That's why you see fighters such as Ronda Rousey so successful in MMA because she's affective at pulling guard, bringing the fight to the ground and submitting using her famous armbar technique that she uses again and again to win fights quickly. However, to sit down before you even engage the opponent, especially against an opponent such as Holly Holmes, Connor McGregor or even someone who's stronger or more skilled at BJJ would put you at a great disadvantage.
pink girl is almost in a lighter category so from the start she went for the head lock it didn,t work....once the red sat on her it was a matter of time ....she arched herself a couple of times but to no avail....
@Ofer Weingarten Just now saw your reply. Yes, Savonnah, the girl in red, is certainly strong. But she didn't power out of Trinity's triangle, Trinity released it. Is no easy task to get Savonnah in that hard-to-escape hold, I would have kept it on as long as I could... It seems Savonnah is on a long break from competing, the last match of hers that I can find was 7 months ago ( she lost in OT )
@@Daniel-yo5es I just realized she didn't have an arm in there! Thanks! But Savonnah was still trapped in it until she released it. If she had been able to to tighten it up more she might have got the tap, but Savonnah is strong, it would have been difficult. If Trinity had been able to just keep it to the time limit though, she could have kept Savonnah from getting any advantage. Again, difficult...
@@georgehenderson7783 it's a sub only tourney and she didn't have a choke... she was just burning energy... she would have been better just moving on from the triangle as soon as she didn't catch the arm and going back to butterfly or doing what she was doing... she allowed the bulldog pass by trying to hold on to a useless position. in my opinion.
For the people of East Turkistan and those who still have humanity in their hearts. Chinese identity in East Turkistan is an invader, no debate needed. To call the invader a government is a form of betrayal to the human dignity. Because a government doesn't murder, doesn't kill innocent people by torturing them.
Yep - ECI is a tourney with EBI rules! Though, this isn't an ECI show - this is from a Global Grappling League show from a few years ago. All full replays of ECI 1-4 are available on FloSports
Agreed!- I've seen this hurt a wrestler more than once as he/she starts to "think" rather than wrestle. The movements or position changes after thinking about the command are too late. Coach before and after the match. 'Good post msnpassjan2004'.

Great head scissors by the Trinity Pun and Savonnah mounting skills were great
I don't understand why one of the girls was on the floor all the time, can someone explain why girl in red top was able to do this please?

@Bobby Brissette Yeah, but that really only works in BJJ. If you tried that in MMA, they'd kick you in the face.

I guess harder to get takedown
Damn..looked like red had a few lbs….purple got some moves and much heart
Red one needs a summer camp and a diet.
I wish the coach would shut up. He knows he is playing cheap psychology and mind tricks to make the opponent think she is losing.
Great match
