    I learnt pic and dip years ago when I dislocated my right shoulder and still worked, I spread a long bed with my left hand while the right was in a sling then put the trowel down and laid the brick with the same hand, that's how I got into it.

    Good luck arguing the toss with the Agent and the Scaff over those table lifts, they're only designed for Roofers to work off, us brickies are always just expected to get around everything to save the main contractors some cash.

    They are always put up pissed, not proper chippies, just banging up trusses with nail guns, the site agents always say just build to it, so I just turn off to it. I prefer commercial build to be honest, apart from nice one off houses or small developments, big house bashing sites are just house factories, do them if I have to, but prefer building offices, school etc..

    • @stevethepug6035
      @stevethepug6035 3 роки тому +2

      The house could be out of square so the joiner could be keeping the roof square for the roofers gauge to be right or cavity could be slightly different many different aspects to taking into account.

    Charlie, you have said your getting a sore throat. Don’t know what masks your using, most likely FFP2 rating. I had problems with FFP2 masks at work with fibreglass insulation. I got work to get us Moldex FFP3 masks in. Pull out the plastic inset, adjust the strap and their brilliant. Not cheap though. When it comes to your health, what price do you pay.

    As I walked past the building site at the end of my road this morning I thought I'd stop and share some of the knowledge I've picked up from watching this site over the past few months. So I called the bricky over and told him that I thought his muck looked a bit stiff for laying engineering bricks this time of the year.
    He told me to fcuk off and mind my own business 😆. Which I did, very quickly.
