Awesome, I had the JRXt , I worked at a hobby shop when I was younger, about 20yrs old. My buddy got me the job there and he was best friends with the boss, we were three peas in a pod. I started with a team associated rc10L and it was a huge bank turn oval pan car track that my friend designed in college. They went ahead and built it. It was quite impressive. Turns were 6 feet high. And a huge middle flat section that we later at additional track with left and right turns. My buddy and I opened two new classes, truck pulls and JRXt trucks. The truck became very popular. I think it was because most people couldn't keep up with the big wigs with pan cars, truck were more competitive. We lowered the trucks and added big street tires. It was so much fun. So much so we used to sleep on the track at night and race all night long. Pulling parts off the shelves to make our rigs better. I ended up pretty much worked there to pay for my parts. Lol. The boss was an incredible person. Unfortunately in my area in the summer it was our dry spell to the season and people wanted to enjoy the weather instead of racing rc. We were forced to close after the 4th yr. Sad day but great memories. I still have my pan car. . I loved the clear rim caps on the losi so you could paint them any color or design. I'd do anything to relive those yrs.

Yellow wheels do come up for sale occasionally! The natural ones you have on the truck are rarer & look to be in good condition! Don't dye those! Look out for others if you want Yellow!

The Hydra Drive seems to work loosely on the same principle as a full sized vehicle torque converter. A fluid clutch.

Another enjoyable video Gavin, you portray that excitement of both receiving something new & learning more about what you have purchased perfectly! Reminds me of the time I first received my Yokomo WCS, not really knowing exactly what i’d got, but quickly realising it was something pretty special!
Ever since seeing my friend”s JRX2 that first time in 198? & then having great success racing a DoubleX during the 90s means the Losi brand is very close to my heart & as such probably the most prominent brand in my collection now, but i’m glad I collected what I have when I did.
Your LXT is an absolute beaut, as I think it’s mentioned below the final batches of the LXT came with the Retro Fit XX gearbox (I ‘think’ the gearbox came before the DoubleX buggy, but not 100% sure) Which is certainly a worthy upgrade if you decide to run the truck..... if indeed you can find the parts - or trans kit. The original LRM (Low Rotating Mass) gearboxes - which it quite a unique design, is prone to stripping gears, especially the diff gear, even with relatively mild brushed motor power!
The moulded chassis on the LXT first appeared on the budget spec Junior2 buggy, but quickly got adopted by the team drivers - thus the JRX-ProSE & later LXT truck then came with the moulded chassis as standard, albeit without the 5-Link mount holes at the side.

Hydradrives were always option extra. They work good but tend to melt pretty fast. If you set it right to the instructions they would get super hot in a 4 minute race. I have one that has maybe 2 runs on it but I took it off because it got so hot and to keep it from doing that, you had to tighten it which probably defeated the purpose of it so then you just have a lot of extra weight on the spur gear.

I still have my LXT from 1994. I have the 2.61 transmission and both hydra and normal slipper. I use the slipper because its less rotational mass. I run it with modern electronics and I upgraded the shocks to the threaded ones when they came out in the mid 90's. I have both yellow and white wheels sets. The white ones were aftermarket. I know this truck inside and out. She does 40mph all day but I'm very careful since the parts are expensive. Not a truck for the inexperienced! If you ever need to know more about it send me a message and I'll be happy to help!

FYI, before diving in to try and make a negative comment to make yourself feel smart and relevant, try reading the comments that came before you. If you had, you would have seen that back when this kit was produced, the word stadium truck wasn't coined yet and if you check the LXT kit box, it has the words... Yes, you guessed it, Racing Monster Truck on the side. Now I make loads of mistakes in my videos for sure, from actual build mistakes, painting mistakes to wrong names for things to editing mistakes as well as leaving out good information and that's part of being human. I leave my mistakes in so others can see and maybe not make the same when building up an RC. What I don't understand and I would really appreciate an explanation is why bother commenting negative stuff? I do see this kind of thing regularly so this is not focused just on yourself my friend. The funny thing is, I don't care what negative stuff you put in the comments, I'm living my best life doing my dream job 24/7 and at 49 do you think you can hurt my feelings so what's the point LOL? Ps I look forward to no reply on this or the standard " I was only joking man" response LOL On a more positive note, thank you for watching the show and I hope you are enjoying the RC hobby.

Wheels are just a color Losi offered of the shelf. Chassis is correct but someone cut the hole in it for a big servo saver and those other 2 holes. It has the LRM transmission and yes the XX retrofit transmission was an option but also came with later kits, same with the JRX-ProSE. Turnbuckles are Technacraft titanium upgraded units. Tires appear the be what was box stock with the first version of the XXX-T Matt Francis edition.

@@RCKickschannel Overall that's a really nice example. Also if you're looking for arms for it the arms for the NXT and GTX are also the same ones used on the LXT, just to give you a few more search terms at least, I know losi stuff is hard to come by over there. There's even "Graphite" versions if thats your cup of tea.

i have a vintage xxt with Hydradrive, i agree even in the usa the tires are strictly a ebay hunt. i have scored 3 full sets though one of them foams. Back in the day i raced a Losi Jrx2 then converted to pro with the graphite plate chassis and rear arms. I ended up replacing the hydradrive with a standard slipper on my original. that seemed more helpful to my style of driving and track i raced on at the time. love to find a Jrx2 but those in any kind of shape are like gold pan rc10s. rare and pricey. the XXt was a good deal on a lightly used and close to the Jrx in feel. as i also raced a XXgt its falls into a nice nostalgic niche for me.

I love it i want one but alas the money and parts are well N/A. I did buy a jrx pro back in the day. I think this timeline is correct from a kids memory. I got the LXT conversion kit a little bit after. Then the pro SE conversion after that. Which had that chassis and with that a slimline se body shell. The conversions im sure came with a gearbox. The gears were a different colour to the pro. I dont recall the holes in the chassis but do remember the servo saver (not kit supplied if i do recall) rubs and pulled up the servo tape sometimes. Later i got the hydra drive as a option. I didnt get it in the conversion kits.
