      I've been waiting too! The pixel remaster tournament took a while, it's actually still going on but I finished all of my matches.

    After watching the solo white wizard one, I'm pretty sure this will be another banger(specially skipping a bit of the extreme grind sessions lol). Such a breath of fresh speedrunning air, even tho I get confused with how deeply calculated everything is(like when you go "I delayed 2 battles", I go "and how in the world do you know that?!")

      I have played this game a lot. I play it at least 5 times a week about 20-30 hours a week. I've been playing the game at a high level for years and I have multiple world records in speedrunning the game. So yeah... Just a lot of time playing it I leave a few tricks.

    level 50 master is so absurd, you one shot everything in the game

    • @shanezell

      I know it's a little much, I only hit 42 and you see the power. If I hit 50 chaos would have been killed in two hits.

    I started this challenge myself a while ago - I am currently in Pravoka at LV6, and I have got stuck on the Pirates.
    Black Belt seems to have good attack damage potential, but his defense is terrible, so I try to boost his Agility as much as possible, since I think that this allows him to evade attacks more often.

    • @shanezell
      @shanezell  Рік тому

      Well at level 6 you have no need for his armor until you can get a silver bracelet. So being naked is the best, just make sure to check your armor screen every level that you have on a weapon, or your defense will not update itself.

    The nice thing about XXXX and STUN (spell) is that they can't hit you if you're over 300HP. Unfortunately, the stun attack doesn't care about your HP.

    • @Catman_CM
      @Catman_CM 21 день тому

      These are based of the DnD "Power Word" spells. Those spells have the same hp thresholds, in this case Power Word: Kill (XXXX) and Power Word: Stun (STUN).
      BLND is also a Power Word spell, and also has an hp threshold, IIRC

    You really bludgeoned the end game. Last Eye kill to Chaos (including 3 fiend dungeons) in under 36 minutes. Ignoring chests and crushing bosses really speeds things along.

      Nothing stops the late game black belt, he just punches everything down.

    I always just take off both at level 4 and sell them. At level 4 the damage he does is small but at least it hits.

    Is there any documentation available on how to start the "Ogre Cycle" and keep it going? Currently 64% of the way doing solo runs of all of the classes in FF1, and I'd love to be able to level quickly on Ogres instead of on random trash mobs because I don't know the way the cycle works.

      gamefaqs.gamespot.com/nes/522595-final-fantasy/faqs/57009 This guide has a lot of info on the game. If you scroll down to where the list of encounters is you can find out where you are at power on and plan your route. If you skip the first 3 battles you can fight a bunch of ogres in a row if you do it right. You have to walk around in a bunch of different zones and pick the best fights in said zones.

    New to your channel.....I just got a new 5g phone that can handle the pixels remaster ff remakes and I'm halfway thru ff1 now...ff1 was my first game I ever played on Nintendo I beat it when I was 8 for the first time...took me forever..only game I really played for months ...way harder than the remakes ...remakes are made to run thru fairly easy if you have ever beat the originals..anyways you have a new subscriber...good shit bro ! Also I'm using fighter theif white black mage for my run..always my favorite after the class upgrades
    Also when I was younger I made a diffent but similar mistake regarding weapons and armor... I knew you could eqip multiple pieces ..helm..mail..sheild, etc... BUT I assumed that if a found armor or weapon in a chest was automatically better then one's you could buy ALWAYS..and the later you found them the automatically better..so I almost was NEVER optimal by a long shot.. never equipped the armless ever and would stay with leather armor or clothes all game till found endgame robes and armor for the class.upgrades..basically the cooler the piece the better it was hands down..."why would a male wizard Don a little bracelet..to protect his wrists ...at least clothes cover his whole body,...am I right !?!" Were my thoughts...oh and also to use weapons and armor as a spell or effect casting item that they MUST be equipped to use..never even tried without them eqipid before till much later... AND finally knew nothing about how the game was slightly bugged for some minor things but my lack of knowledge of how rng worked sometimes did work in my favor...like on my 8th time thru the ice cave..and I got the floater( Levistone)..and run into 2 giants and 3 frost wolfs..no magic or heals left...3 steps from the exit stairs...and instead of hitting run as fast as I could, I would stop and talk nicely to my fighter who was named after myself.. and say " just gotta run away this one last time and I'll use a whole house on you to rest..not just 2 cabins in an inn ...a house just for you" and then hit run command ...and it would work more often then not..probably due to taking the time to talk ..the rgn counter ran more into my favor..but really made me feel he heard me ! LMAO

    What’s the reason you go back a floor and look for a random battle before proceeding?

    • @shanezell
      @shanezell  9 місяців тому +1

      Battles in this game are not at all random and always are in the same order after powering on the game if you take the same amount of steps on the same tiles. I know the fights I need to take and the fights I need to skip over.
