Ma'ah Matriarch of the Rainforest

Spirit or Ghost bears are found only in the Great Bear Rainforest on the central and northwest coast of British Columbia Canada. They are a very rare sub-species of American Black Bear that through a genetic mutation have a creamy white coat. This short wildlife documentary provides a brief glimpse into the life of a very special Spirit Bear named Ma'ah, and her rainforest home.

I love this film. I had a Golden Retriever I named Spirit Bear. He was born a singlett, shined like a star in the Sun and was a gentle giant. He died last year. Rest in Peace my beloved boy. I will walk with you again. ❤

Thanks you. Yes they are pretty rare with only about 10% of all the black bears in that area being a "Spirit Bear."

@@rickandrewsfilms1667 yes there is an area when the ferry is no longer in usa waters and that is when we were told to look for the great spirit bear which is white and brings good luck when seen; but we didn't see one. It is truly awe inspiring there. thanks again.
