Yes, this is a man who know quality and perfection. Something that is a dying craft. "Keep on Rocking in the Free world". 👍
Please keep them coming. Would love to see a full build.
Your channel has helped me a ton!! Thanks so much for taking the time to film this. I was able to build one for my 2021 Bronco.
I appreciate how hard you work. Don't know why I'm touched by this.
THANK YOUUUU!! I've been struggling with these sliders for long...
Your quality of workmanship shows thru Brian in all your builds!! Nice 👍☮️😎
Wow. I wish I had watched this before installing the slides and drawers on the build I’m working on (I bought your plans). I definitely did not know that these slides disconnected. Let’s just say it took me some trial and error and much more work than it needed to. 😅
Thanks. Easy to understand. You’re a good teacher.
Thanks for this great video. I couldn't work out how the two parts of the runner separated, but you explained it very well! Greetings and stay safe from here in sunny west Wales.
Can you do a tutorial on how you cut slots for drawer dividers, notches for tops, and holes for handles using simple power tools - enjoy your videos - thanks.
Yes those videos are on the list and hopefully coming out in the next few weeks!
This was really helpful! Thanks for this
I hope you build drawers also for van like sienna or odyssey. Thanks for all the build videos, always solid work!
What a Champion! You make it look so easy :) Thank you for sharing mate
hi very good and exxplained well videos, just one observation, the drawer runner fixed to the carcass shoud be screwed in the cutout section this allows 1mm to 2mm clearance if boxes are slightly to big i normally justbend them out slightly and alighnment will be achieved after a couple of full opening aand closing it does help especially if a diy is watching keep up the good work regards tony
You should do some time-lapse style vids on cool builds. Bet people would like that
Thank you. Fun to watch.
thank you Brian for some education!
Hope we can meet one day!!You are doing a wonderfull camper guiding, thank you👍
I am stuck on my van build. I bought some heavy duty drawer slides just like these for my pull out dining table. I am seeing that on each side there's those two little pieces of metal that are protruding out, seemingly like some sort of intentional blockage for the runner (a place to end?). Is that where I need to end my cut of wood? As of right now, my table sticks out that extra 10 inches, even though we ordered an 850mm drawer slide. We cut our oak to that, 850mm. I hope I've given you enough information. I appreciate your knowledge !!
Sorry i dont quite follow, maybe you can send me an email with some photos to help better!
great informative video ,, and excellent one-man-camera angle filming operation :)
You rule Brian!
Do the screws come with the drawer slides? If not, what type, size and length screw are you using? Do you stagger the screws holding the slides to the center divider between the drawers?...looks like they would line up and collide with each other if they are not staggered.
The center jam would need to have the screws staggered yes. These are the screws i use: bit.ly/3klDRtR
Did I just watch my drawers being built? 👋🏻😂 Nice tutorial Brian
Haha no this video was from a few months ago just got around to getting it out.
Great Videos, thank you so much they have been really helpfull. I'm building out a Van in New Zealand and I'd love to see how you create the false tops for your pull out draws and the partitions.
Well explained..very nice thanks
That was an awesome video! Thank you
Hi there, do you ever make runnerless draws for weight saving. Been thinking of using teflon or plastic strips for my next build.
Sorry for all the questions. This is my first time making a drawer and installing slides.
The whole drawer is 3/4" wood except the back which looks like 1/2"?
When you're making those drawer boxes, do you screw into the plywood edge, or are you making pocket holes?
Always enjoy your videos and innovative solutions for organized storage, great stuff. Is there an easy way of determining the width (measurement) of the slide in part of the box in order to match up the outer slides other than subtracting the width of the two slides for the inner measurement , if this makes any sense ? Ha..............thanks
You take your opening and I subtract 1 1/16” for the width of your drawer box
Hey Brian 1 quick question can the sliders be placed on the top of drawer so the cabinet would have no bottom so I can excess the spare tire compartment in my vehicle. I currently have one drawer and a pull out table with some open storage space next to the drawer that slides on a 4 piece tire compartment cover to excess my forester right now. Thanks love watching your work. Keep the videos coming
I don’t quite follow your build. But yes the slides can be mounted higher up the side of the drawer box.
Super helpful video, thank you! What type of plywood are you using? I am about to start a build and am having trouble deciding. Thank you!
You the man thank you very much 👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
This should make future slides much easier. Question: how large a space is needed for slide? 3/4"?
@@SolidWoodWorx yes. To fit the slide in perfectly between box and drawer..
@@SolidWoodWorx thank you. You're A big help. Thanks for sharing your know how with all of us.
When measuring for the rails you say, measure 3/4 of the way up. Do you mean up 3/4”?
Hi, can I please ask a question? My drawer outer body/platform can only be 79cm long. Will 75cm drawer slides be okay to use?
Hello the length the slides say are usually exact. If they have a locking tab it is usually 1.25" longer than the said length.
Awesome tutorial and looks like a very solid build! Would you happen to have plans for an R50 Pathfinder (1996-2004) to sell? Thanks in advance!
Can you mount two drawers side-by-side, sharing the same 3/4" center support? I was curious because if the holes are in the same spot for the slides, then you would have a conflict in the sex bolt location. Maybe there isn't any issue with having two drawers side by side.
Yes that is what i do, the other slide can be mounted at the same time with the same bolt.
How wide would you go on a drawer? I was thinking of doing a 40 inch wide as apposed to 2 narrower drawers. But I’m worried it would sag. Any thoughts on that?
I would personally no go that wide if you plan on it sliding out further than 30" or so. Also with a drawer that wide it might not slide back in that easy.
@@SolidWoodWorx I have 40 inch heavy duty drawer slides. You think its going to have a problem coming out further than 30 inches?
Great vid. When you build the inner box how much space do you leave on each side to accomodate for the width of the drawer slides? Ex. If the big box is 50cm wide how wide would you make the inner box?
@Brian need your help!
Im creating a drawer system - and would like to have a "pop top' to access the contents of my drawer from the top.
Any ideas on how to allow for a pop-top that is strong enough to hold the weight of me sleeping on it?
I'd like to avoid piano hinges if possible
@@SolidWoodWorx ill probably do a piano hinge then.
is 1/2" birch thicc enough to sleep on?
I used 3/4" for sidewalls
thanks for the Tip, please show how to make a drawer next time? :) , i see some pocket hole on the drawer in this video
It may be in another video, but are you using 1/2" or 3/4" ply for your builds? Fantastic work by the way!
Thanks!
Have you done something for a Ford Escape? Thanks
@@SolidWoodWorx no worries, will try to make some of your ideas work then
how'd you come up with the 3/4? did you measure from the bottom of the case tothe beginning of the slide's mouth, for lack of a better term
Loved that you shared this. If I were in Cali I'd run to you to have you build my 4RUNNER Box. Trying to work on mine. Where/how do you attach or anchor the box to the floor of the 4Runner? Do you drill through the bottom and self-tap to the floor? Also, if I want deeper drawers and match the height of the wheel wells It looks like I'd want the box to be 10" high vs 8.5". Do you foresee any problems with that thinking I may run into?
I use this hardware kit bit.ly/31qUcGk to attach the 4runner to the 4runner without having to make any more hole. As for making the drawer box taller, you would need to make it shorter in length from front to back because of the angle the 2nd row seat has, if that makes sense.
Hello? I been trying look for sliding drawers system. The 6' or 5' sliding drawer. Where can I come across them.
I sell up to 60” locking drawer slides on my website www.solidwoodworx.com under the hardware tab
I have a ford ranger back bed is 6/feet long. However, I'll messure the sliding drawer I made see if they are 5/feet.
1 gen tacoma ❤️
I'm assuming it doesn't mater what the opening is and the reveal on the drawer fronts? I have a 4.5 drawer front and a 4in frame opening?
It 100% matters what space you have. The drawer slides alone need 3/4" of space on each side. So if you have a 10" opening for example your drawer box width would be 8.5".
If your in need of a Jeep, got a 2020 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited that you could use! 😁
In wich state are you? what is your phone? I want to do a project. thanks.
My slide doesn’t have that tab to move and I can’t get the damn thing off. Please help!! Driving me nuts removing it
Hey Brian! Are you interested in doing any internships or maybe a little help at the shop? I have built my own van and I would love learn more from a person who owns a business. I live in Dana Point so not too far from you I believe. Thank you!

Take note people. A professional is teaching his craft. This dude’s builds are top shelf.
I see what you did there...
